Just to get everybody on the same page, there are two versions of this addon referred to in this thread. 

There is version 4.0.1 (which works) and version 5.0.0 which has the issues. 

The reason I am posting about version 5.0.0 is that it has added functionality over the other addon including, TVO podcasts, a schedule, and the network's flagship program originally worked (The Agenda with Steve Paikin).  It doesn't work in 4.0.1 or at least didn't the last time I checked.

Version 5.0.0 worked perfectly when it first came out but now has the issue playing shows marked as part of a (Series).

My issue is when I play a program that is a part of a (Series) it will work and then gives the Check the Log error when the close button is clicked.  When you try to play the program again you get the Check the Log error.

Thank you @micahg for your investigative work.  I would not have expected the issue to be with Python itself.

To test that out, I've changed the code from using the datetime module to the time module.  It's working on my machine, but then again it never stopped working for me.

I'll add the new code to my github this weekend and let you know.

The updated tvo file is ready to download.  As before this is how you can get this code:
-add 'https://ertyertyerty.github.io/' as a source in your 'File manager'
-go through the process to install an add-on from a zip file, choosing the source you just created
-no changes were made to the 't1mlib' files so only unzip it if this is a new installation
-install the updated 'plugin.video.tvo-5.0.1.zip' file

Please note: If this is a new installation for you, the 'tvo' files need the 't1mlib' files present for a successful install process so order is important.

It works! Tested with Win 10/Kodi 21/TVO 5.0.1

Podcasts and schedule work, shows marked as part of a (Series) work and The Agenda with Steve Paikin works.

The Search is a little different acting but it's great to have this addon working again
