Android Devices List - Thorin4to - 2012-12-13 We can make a list of devices that work properly with 720p or 1080p video. I have a AK802 (MK802) Allwinner A10 Cortex A8 Chipset Frequency 1.5GHz Processor 1GB DDR3 RAM. and can not see HD videos. But with other players, such as MXPlayer, videos are played perfect. RE: Android Devices List - Ned Scott - 2012-12-13 See Android hardware (wiki). Eventually I'll update it into a nice table where people can note things like HD playback, but till then you can just note it in plain text. Other players have hardware decoding because they've signed NDAs or are using closed source code, which are not options for XBMC. I am waiting on my OUYA which want be until April 2013, damn! I may give it a shot with my Asus TF700 it is a tegra 3. RE: Android Devices List - mockingbirdblue - 2012-12-13 I don't like how users are relating external players as HD playback......wouldn't need to note xbmc in that case. It is a great feature to allocate protocols and other attributes but I don't like the idea of calling those devices HD supportive for XBMC when its the external player taking the buff as Ned explained - it will be a huge list with asterisk on them. RE: Android Devices List - aenoch - 2012-12-13 im using an mk808 everything works great upnp smb ect besides any movie file i have that says 720p is way out of synce and some times its takes about 10 secs for audio to start on other movies not sre if this happens threw upnp or not you can add the mk808 to that list under rockchipsince theres nothing listed there its the rk3066 chipset RE: Android Devices List - Ned Scott - 2012-12-13 (2012-12-13, 06:42)mockingbirdblue Wrote: I don't like how users are relating external players as HD playback......wouldn't need to note xbmc in that case. Well, we wouldn't let people say "HD playback" with external players on the wiki list. For one, I don't think the official XBMC for Android build has that feature, and it would be just kind of assumed that almost any Android device would be "HD able" via an external player as long as any HD player exists for it. Also am I missing any devices. I was hoping I could find something for around $80 with remote and ethernet. Hello First of all: Super software!! thanx!! ![]() to the list I can confirm Huawai Mediapad works in sd, but not so well in HD that could be a w-lan problem I think. All other funcktions works really good!! (set-up is Dvbviewer/Recordservice, Technotrend S2-3200, Win 7) I think most HD problems are wireless network related. Anyone that have tried XBMC on Samsung S3 Galaxy Mini?..I'm seriously close to buy one ![]() ( In the list it says Samsung S3 all models, but does that include the mini version with smaller processor, than the original S3 ? ) RE: Android Devices List - maxpower681 - 2012-12-20 I own a Lenovo A2109A running ICS; it has a 1.2 Ghz Tegra 3, 1 GB DDR 3, and ULP GeForce GPU. The latest RC1 build installed without any errors and runs very smooth. I can confirm that the ASUS Padfone 2 works (in phone mode and tablet mode) on XBMC Frodo RC 2: TABLET MODE: ![]() ![]() ![]() PHONE MODE: ![]() ![]() ![]() The main difference between the two (visually) seems to be that the phone mode incorporates the Android software menu button (3 dots) and the tablet has the bottom banner visible at all times (effectively running at a slightly smaller resolution). I've not tried Dynamic Display yet - but will when I get a chance. I've also only played local media (via USB thumb drive) as I'm having problems with my network share (it can see the films/tv series libraries) but won't play the files - although I suspect this is down to how I have my network configured and will need to iron these issues out. The REALLY cool feature about having XBMC running on the Padfone is that I can now switch seamlessly between live satellite TV and XBMC - a feature I wish was so easy to achieve on my iMac!! LOL! thanks again for all your hard efforts in developing and supporting this!! - great work! RE: Android Devices List - Ned Scott - 2013-01-04 I forgot to mention this, but I'm trying out a new formatting template on Android hardware (wiki) to hopefully make entry easier and to note if something plays HD. I'm not sure about the layout. You can see it in action on the set top box section. The idea is to tell people if HD will work with software decoding or not in the event hardware decoding is not available (which is currently the norm for most devices). It's a little confusing the way it is now, so if anyone has any ideas about how it should be displayed, please fire away and give your input in this thread. RE: Android Devices List - SSSJDanny - 2013-01-04 Works great with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 so far, the stylus that it came with does not work though. I'm gonna need a bigger SD card. Hi Ned, Would the following layout help with the distinction between HW and SW decoding.. and thinking about this now - it might also be worth adding in a column for what version of Android the device is running as well?: ![]() The version of Android is probably quite important as different networks/providers seem to have different roll outs etc which just adds to the fragmentation) and also because I think the different versions of Android have varying degrees of ability for SW decoding. For example - Android JB 4.2 has a lot of features which will help support SW decoding:
