iOS remote control constantly crashing Kodi - FiZi - 2014-12-23
I didn't see any other threads about this but I figured I'd post it anyway.
I am getting constant crashing when using the iOS remote. Usually it takes 1-2 clicks of the subtitles button and down goes Kodi.
Other times if I just push a button too many times quickly Kodi crashes.
No problems using a Windows 8 Remote or a Harmony Remote via IR. I have the iOS App on a iPhone 6, Jailbroken running 8.1.
Anyone else having this problem? Do I submit a bug to the Kodi devs or the iOS devs? or are they the same....

Glad it's not just me, seems to be happening with xbmcRemote and Sybu XBMC trying to narrow it down, seems to be when the remote app disconnects as log has Thread RemoteControl Terminating and then shortly afterwards crash of xbmc.
Happy to help / provide logs to devs if you let me know what's needed

I would just like to report, that I'm facing the same occasional crashes for apparently no reason while using the remote.

I seem to suffer a similar error with my android remote since the early release candidates for KODI.
My remote app (Yatse) is definitely kodi ready.
And I cannot really say what triggers the kodi crashes, just a feeling that it happens often when the remote app connects to kodi or refreshes something like now playing status.
As I am not on iOS, I guess it is a KODI problem, not a remote app problem

Posted my log to http://pastebin.com/5RHbTZ5r not sure if its of use as when I originally tried to see the cause of the problem the log did look different every time.
Happy to work on this with you so let me know what else is needed. I dont know if its related to the HTTP server issue that has been raised in http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=204647&pid=1880088#pid1880088
Currently using HippoRemote as that sends key presses and that works find / no crashes but of course not as fully featured as the official remote or some of the others available

I'm another user with the same problem, official IOS remote has not worked for me since about the renaming to kodi as it lets kodi crash withing few seconds upt few minutes at the most. Remote stays stable, and reconnects without problem to a restarted kodi.

same problem here, ios app sybu xbmc crashes kodi after a few seconds.
has anybody a solution for the problem yet or an ios remote app that doesnt crashes kodi?

The thing is it happens so randomly and not always, that it's not so easy to provide a log. I played around with Kodi and the remote all day long yesterday with no crash. I have debugging on for the time being and will hopefully provide a log if and when the next crash occurs.

Just tested the old xbmc remote, no problem with the oldie.
Correction: the old xbmc remote makes Kodi crash as well, just takes an hour and the crash is a couple of minutes after the last command.

Not only does my android remote crash kodi (always when playing a movie about 2 min in) but so does using a web browser as a remote as well. No idea what causes it
