Kodi unable to display pictures from UPnP source - rg57 - 2015-07-19 I tried this in two environments. I used BubbleUPnP on Android Lollipop to share Videos and Pictures to Kodi running on latest OSMC (May 23) on Raspberry Pi 2. I used AirWire on Android Lollipop to share Pictures to Kodi 14.2 (Mar 27) running on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on 64 bit PC. There was no problem sharing Video to Kodi over UPnP. And in each case, thumbnails of Video and Pictures were OK. And on the Ubuntu PC, I could view locally-stored copies of the pictures OK. But when I tried to actually view a picture on UPnP, in each case, it was just blank. The picture properties said the file size was 0. Viewing the log file, there's plenty of this (the x's are mine): Code: 00:26:25 T:139962049120192 DEBUG: ------ Window Init (SlideShow.xml) ------ Has anyone got this to work? Apparently it is supposed to work: Fix on GitHub (I tried using FTP instead of UPnP, and got the reverse result... no thumbnails, but the pictures were OK) RE: Kodi unable to display pictures from UPnP source - bam80 - 2015-09-09 +1 RE: Kodi unable to display pictures from UPnP source - meiser - 2019-04-07 This behaviour is still observed with kodi 18.1 on AndroidTV. Any ideas how to fix it? Thanks, meiser RE: Kodi unable to display pictures from UPnP source - jjd-uk - 2019-04-07 It's not possible as there is no Picture library to share. RE: Kodi unable to display pictures from UPnP source - rockrider69 - 2020-01-16 +1 this has nothing to do with Kodi having or not a Library for Pictures. I want to connect to my UPNP mediaserver and just view in Kodi the pictures stored over there. The library is managed by the UPNP server not Kodi. Kodi is just the client in that case. As of today : I can add the UPNP folders as a sources, get the pictures list and navigate, see even the thumbnails on Kodi. But when selecting any picture : just getting an infinite black screen Extract from Kodi.log ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2020-01-16 19:52:24.861 T:3343049440 INFO: Platinum [neptune.threads.posix]: NPT_PosixThread::NPT_PosixThread 2020-01-16 19:52:24.861 T:3343049440 INFO: Platinum [neptune.threads.posix]: NPT_PosixThread::Start - creating thread 2020-01-16 19:52:24.861 T:3343049440 INFO: Platinum [neptune.threads.posix]: NPT_PosixThread::Start - id = 0xc5bfe2e0, res=0 2020-01-16 19:52:24.861 T:3317687008 INFO: Platinum [neptune.http]: requesting URL http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxxx/UPnPServices/ContentDirectory/control 2020-01-16 19:52:24.862 T:3317687008 INFO: Platinum [neptune.http]: calling connector (proxy:no) (http 1.1:yes) (url:http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxxx/UPnPServices/ContentDirectory/control) 2020-01-16 19:52:24.862 T:3309294304 DEBUG: Thread JobWorker start, auto delete: true 2020-01-16 19:52:24.862 T:3351442144 DEBUG: Thread BackgroundLoader 3351442144 terminating 2020-01-16 19:52:24.862 T:3317687008 INFO: Platinum [neptune.tls]: looking for a connection to reuse 2020-01-16 19:52:24.862 T:3317687008 INFO: Platinum [neptune.tls]: reusing connection 2020-01-16 19:52:24.862 T:3317687008 INFO: Platinum [neptune.http]: got connection (reused: true) 2020-01-16 19:52:24.862 T:3317687008 INFO: Platinum [neptune.http]: sending body stream, 1022 bytes 2020-01-16 19:52:24.865 T:3317687008 INFO: Platinum [platinum.media.server.didl]: Parsing Didl... 2020-01-16 19:52:24.866 T:3309294304 DEBUG: ffmpeg[C53FD2E0]: [swscaler] No accelerated colorspace conversion found from yuv420p to bgra. 2020-01-16 19:52:24.868 T:3343049440 DEBUG: CUPnPDirectory::GetResource - resource protocol info 'http-get:*:image/jpegLNA.ORG_PN=JPEG_MED;DLNA.ORG_OP=01;DLNA.ORG_CI=0;DLNA.ORG_FLAGS=00d00000000000000000000000000000' 2020-01-16 19:52:24.868 T:3343049440 DEBUG: File::Stat - redirecting implementation for upnp://d5b01c27-a070-4432-9290-63d604d8fdfa/5be3e2e6b8cacff30336b5c7b9232cdc/ 2020-01-16 19:52:24.868 T:3343049440 ERROR: Stat - Error statting upnp://d5b01c27-a070-4432-9290-63d604d8fdfa/5be3e2e6b8cacff30336b5c7b9232cdc/ 2020-01-16 19:52:24.868 T:3343049440 DEBUG: GetImageHash - unable to stat url upnp://d5b01c27-a070-4432-9290-63d604d8fdfa/5be3e2e6b8cacff30336b5c7b9232cdc/ 2020-01-16 19:52:29.150 T:4049597152 DEBUG: LIRC: - NEW 160 0 KEY_OK linux-input-layer (KEY_OK) 2020-01-16 19:52:29.157 T:4070301696 DEBUG: HandleKey: 11 (0x0b, obc244) pressed, action is Select 2020-01-16 19:52:29.158 T:4070301696 DEBUG: Activating window ID: 12007 2020-01-16 19:52:29.158 T:4070301696 DEBUG: ------ Window Init (SlideShow.xml) ------ 2020-01-16 19:52:29.158 T:4070298336 DEBUG: UPnP: Building didl for object '' 2020-01-16 19:52:29.161 T:4070301696 DEBUG: Loading the current image 0: upnp://d5b01c27-a070-4432-9290-63d604d8fdfa/5be3e2e6b8cacff30336b5c7b9232cdc/ 2020-01-16 19:52:29.161 T:3317687008 DEBUG: Thread BgPicLoader start, auto delete: false 2020-01-16 19:52:29.176 T:4070301696 DEBUG: We have an error loading picture 0! 2020-01-16 19:52:29.176 T:4070301696 ERROR: Error loading the current image 0: upnp://d5b01c27-a070-4432-9290-63d604d8fdfa/5be3e2e6b8cacff30336b5c7b9232cdc/ 2020-01-16 19:52:29.176 T:4070301696 INFO: set image upnp://d5b01c27-a070-4432-9290-63d604d8fdfa/5be3e2e6b8cacff30336b5c7b9232cdc/ unplayable 2020-01-16 19:52:29.197 T:4070301696 DEBUG: We have an error loading picture 0! 2020-01-16 19:52:29.197 T:4070301696 ERROR: Error loading the current image 0: upnp://d5b01c27-a070-4432-9290-63d604d8fdfa/5be3e2e6b8cacff30336b5c7b9232cdc/ 2020-01-16 19:52:29.197 T:4070301696 INFO: set image upnp://d5b01c27-a070-4432-9290-63d604d8fdfa/5be3e2e6b8cacff30336b5c7b9232cdc/ unplayable 2020-01-16 19:52:29.215 T:4070301696 DEBUG: We have an error loading picture 0! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The problem is still here with Leia. By the way I have done one more test with my DLNA server. I can "push" the same picture to Kodi ("Play to" feature) and in that case no pb at all, it displays just fine on the TV. This is only when "pulling" pictures from Kodi client that I have the issue. Pb seems to be with the getimagehash routine not being happy in case of chunked-transfer of a picture, maybe... Weird enough, there is no pb at all for viewing a video file from same DLNA server, using chunked-transfer for videos obviously. This is only when "pulling" pictures from Kodi client that I have the issue. Well, that can be explained quickly. Kodi's UPnP support is not 100%, meaning for 'pushing' video or music it uses its databases. Kodi has no database for pictures/photos, and it doesn't do "files only". If you simply want a dedicated UPnP/DLNA server, there are better solutions out there. RE: Kodi unable to display pictures from UPnP source - rockrider69 - 2020-01-19 First thanks a lot for the attention, this is very pleasant to see such an active forum. It comforts me in my choice going for Kodi Now maybe I did not describe my case so clearly, or at least I don't grasp your answer here. I do know that Kodi does not have a database for Pictures. Just for Video and Music. That is why I have an external DLNA/UPNP server on a PC, with all the bells and whistles for Pictures management. Then I'd want to use KODI UPNP client only. It is available and activated on my Vero4K+ kodi box. Normally I just have to add my UPNP server as a source for Photos, to simply navigate among pictures stored in the PC/UPNP server, select one, retrieve and display it. Navigate is fully OK (I see all my photos lists, with thumbnails etc...) but display is giving me a black screen. Even weirder : that exact same way I can navigate lists of personal small videos/camera files (mp4, mov, mkv ….) stored at the same place and provided by the DLNA server, and play them 100% ok ! Why would it be more difficult for a single image ? Benefit for me is to have only one user interface at the TV side : Kodi for movies & music locally managed and pictures from the UPNP server. In the previous post I was explaining an additional test : my DLNA/server on the PC has a "Play to …" feature. if I select a picture here on the PC, and click "Play to Kodi", the photo is transfered to my Kodi box and displayed just perfect. So no doubt that the Kodi box can dialog with the DLNA server in that direction, to some extent, and that the pictures are in a compatible format. It sounds like a bug or limitation on the KODI UPNP client when it itself initiate the load of the pictures. And/or in the picture SlideShow display routines. BTW I have found old posts where exact same issue were reported in KODI/XBMC development site. At that time one answer was that SlideShow is evaluating/hashing each picture by checking its size and dates before actually displaying anything, with does not work well with remote pictures coming via network protocols: url or upnp. Because the streams don't always provide a size+date probably. That could explain the 2 error lines in my log : "error statting" and "unable to stat" upnp://xxxxxxxxx image. A fallback option was discussed just to skip the image hash test for these protocols, but maybe it has been implemented only partially ? RE: Kodi unable to display pictures from UPnP source - rockrider69 - 2020-01-28 Up! I have now read accross so many threads here and there (including Kodi/xbmc development Git site) trying to find a solution but I realize this problem with upnp pictures sources seems to exist for many years... Anyone with more knowledge than me on how such bugs are prioritized could tell if there a chance to see a fix someday soon? Just to know if I need to look for some other way or workaround ... RE: Kodi unable to display pictures from UPnP source - rpetya - 2021-01-18 Just confirming this issue. Music/Video works fine from UPnP server, but cannot view pictures. RE: Kodi unable to display pictures from UPnP source - rockrider69 - 2021-01-18 Hello ! let me try to explain once more the initial question. I don't need nor ask any Picture database in Kodi ! I know there is none and I don't want any. I want to use the KODI UPNP/DLNA client to access a UPNP/DLNA server sitting somewhere else (a Windows/UPNP server managing my 35000 pictures in my case) and browse and "stupidly" display the selected picture. Today browsing the pictures' list proposed by the UPNP Server is ok, I can even see a thumbnail of each of them, but viewing/selecting any picture shows just a black screen BR PP |
