- thearm - 2009-07-01 Thank you TerranQ. I will try those files now. - thearm - 2009-07-01 Still no go. I putting these files into c:/program files/Xbmc/system (only irssmap and keymap I could find where in this location) Is this correct? I also haven't made any changes to IR Server Suite except added an entry in 'programs' in the translator portion so the green start button on the controller would open Xbmc instead of Media Center. IR Server found my controller and I didn't really have to configure it. I also disabled Media Center in the Group Policy editor. Well, I still didn't use one of the programs in IRSS to learn the codes. I'll try that first. - TerranQ - 2009-07-01 thearm Wrote:Still no go. Put the files into your userdata folder: \user\<your name>\appdata\roaming\xbmc\userdata (you may have to enable "view hidden files and folders") Quote: I also haven't made any changes to IR Server Suite except added an entry in 'programs' in the translator portion so the green start button on the controller would open Xbmc instead of Media Center. for translator, set a system wide condition, when prompted as to which button carries out the action, press the green button on the remote. Then, go to the "run" tab, and select xbmc.exe. for paramaters, enter -fs Quote:IR Server found my controller and I didn't really have to configure it. What still isn't working for you? - thearm - 2009-07-01 I don't have an Xbmc folder in \user\<your name>\appdata\roaming\xbmc\userdata Probably because when I first installed it, it asked me where I wanted to put it and I said 'program files.' Does this matter? Should I reinstall? The green start button has been working fine btw. I did see that IR Server could disable Media Cetner but I already had it disabled in Group Policy so I just left it that way. EDIT: I reinstalled Xbmc so my profile would be in my Windows profile folder. I copied over your files to the userdata folder and the upper part of the controller still doesn't work. Buttons like stop, play, fast forward, skip, pause, back (The clear button is back). It seems like the files should go into C:/program files/Xbmc/system since that is where Xbmc put it's default files. This time, I created a user profile in Xbmc called Tony. But there are no keymap and irssmap files in there. I hope I'm making sense. Thanks, thearm - TerranQ - 2009-07-01 thearm Wrote:I reinstalled Xbmc so my profile would be in my Windows profile folder. You're barking up the wrong tree. - thearm - 2009-07-01 TerranQ Wrote:This has nothing to do with user profiles on XBMC. You're barking up the wrong tree. I just thought if I created myself a profile, Xbmc would create custome keymap and irrsmap files that I could replace. Ok, I'll have a look at the log when I get home from work today. Thanks, thearm - thearm - 2009-07-02 I used the debug client and it reconizes that I'm pushing the play button, back button, next chapter ect... It says "Received message: "remoteevent. Notify" Abstract (down). There are no codes in IR sever though. Should it display a code like 31730 for start? It's like IR Server isn't communicating with Xbmc. IR server seems to be working fine (To the extent of my knowledge anyway). EDIT: Well, IR does open Xbmc so it is communicating somewhat. Does any more configuration need to be done to IR Server Suite? The only thing I have done to IR Server was bind the start button to Xbmc.exe. That's it. Is that all the needs to be done? So, this is what I've done: 1. Install Xbmc 2. Install IR Server Suite 3. Bind the start button to Xbmc.exe 4. Create a profile for myself in Xbmc (Not needed it sounds like) 5. Put your IRSSmap.xml and kaymap.xml into C:\Users\media center\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\userdata Should this be enough? Thank you for helping me, again. I'm sure you have better things to do. We can quit at any time. Tony - TerranQ - 2009-07-02 You have to use the input service configuration, select the mce remote (check off the box in both columns). That tells IRSS you're using the mce remote. For the debug client, you have to click "connect", then press each button you need the code for. It should give you the message you stated, but right above that should be the key code For example, I opened it up, pressed my play button and received the following message: Microsoft MCE (31721) Received Message "RemoteEvent.Notify" - thearm - 2009-07-02 Hmmm, The MCE remote was already checked in both boxes after installation. In the debug client, I did connect to local host. No codes at all. The only thing I see is what I typed above. I'll uncheck and recheck the MCE remote again in IR Server and see what happens. - thearm - 2009-07-02 The debug clients says MCE but I see no codes. I can open Xbmc with my remote and hit up down left right clear and they all register in the debug client but no codes. What does this mean: "start xbmc with MCE remote support.cmd" I saw this in another thread but it was a thread about setting up IR and Xbmc in WIndows XP SP3. Do I still need to somehow start Xbmc with MCE remote support? http://www.xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=36936 - TerranQ - 2009-07-02 What remote are you using? Post a link to a pic. And I wouldn't follow that thread too closely, it's almost a year old already - thearm - 2009-07-02 Here is my remote: http://mathias.nyman.me/images/2008/08/mceremote.gif But there is no change, in a good way or bad, when I copy your files to Xbmc. You would think if the files where for the wrong controller, the buttons wouldn't work at all or they would change function in some way but they don't. It's like Xbmc doesn't even see those files. - TerranQ - 2009-07-04 is the IRSS service started? - vader88 - 2009-07-04 I am having the same trouble as thearm. In the Debug Client when I press a key it shows: Received Message: "RemoteEvent, Notify" Abstract(VolumeUp) With whatever command I press showing up in the parenthesis. It does not show a code, so I do not know what to put in IRSSmap. The closest picture I found to my remote is: Link - vader88 - 2009-07-04 Ok, I found my problem. In Input Services Configuration I had to click on Advanced then uncheck "Use the Abstract Remote Model". Now a new problem has come up, when I use the arrow keys in xbmc, it moves two menu items in one click. |
