RE: Arctic Horizon - hacky4real - 2020-05-21

Could we have an option to disable playback context menu when paying from the video info screen. l use Plex composite addon; unfortunately it can't play from beginning via video info screen...it will just resume.
Thanks.

It gives me the option to resume or play from the beginning. Although I have noticed Composite & AH interaction can be a bit random at times, usually when playing from widgets.

I appreciate that this is probably due to how the addon is written, it is a very old addon after all. However in the addon settings there is an option to define the Viewtype for Season/Episodes etc but these have no effect when using AH, in other skins it would default according to the viewtype setting. I've tried 55 for list view, 53 & 54 for Season/Episode but to no avail. Is there any way around this or do we just have to live with it?

It's because it is setting content to tvshows but doesn't have any posters.
Do you have a link to the addon and I'll have a look.

I'm working on a way to "whitelist" certain addons to use non-standard views -- I'm not sure if I'll be able to achieve what I want to do though. Either way, I can add a workaround for this one.
Hi JM, did you ever make any progress with this whitelist idea for addons like the ITV Player with non-standard views?

@jurialmunkey

If I remember correctly, there was a bug with Kodi favorites (Kodi crashed) whereupon you built a workaround.

According to the changelog, this bug was fixed in Kodi 18.7, so I think you could remove this workaround.

I'm sorry, I don't know what you're referring to... The only menu added by the skin in the info dialog is the manage menu used to set artwork.

The workaround was just setting a WindowClose fade animation of 100ms - so really not a big deal to leave in (and useful for those who haven't updated yet). Kodi just didn't like the dialog closing immediately, so it needed the animation to delay it a moment.

RE: Arctic Horizon - FXB78 - 2020-05-22

I've noticed a small cosmetic issue with scrolling when Wall View is enabled. If we scroll to the right instead of down the posters disappear off the screen, whereas in non-Wall view the highlight box moves across. Having the highlight box scroll across is a bit tidier. The screenshots probably show it better:

This was intentional. Because the wall scrolls all directions, the first position always has to be focused (eg think what would happen if you were in the row above one of these last items and then moved down but the position didn't match).

That made the transition animation between list and wall very difficult, so I just made the list fixed to position 1 if wall was enabled. I actually came up with a solution a version or two ago.. However if you get the latest from github you'll notice even still the transition animation on the last couple of items is nowhere near as clean as the first position transition to the wall.

Ha! Good timing! I actually just got it finished.

Need latest version of the skin plus latest version of https://github.com/jurialmunkey/script.skinvariables (v0.0.9)

So that script basically builds the visibility conditions for the different views. You can now choose a different view from the options menu and it will lock the view to the content type for that particular plugin (or library in the library).

So for instance you could set:
Library Movies = Poster
Library Seasons = Integrated
TMDbHelper Movies = Landscape
TMDbHelper Seasons = Poster
Netflix Movies = List
Netflix Seasons = Integrated

You can set different configurations for any number of addons. I feel like you get best of both worlds with this approach.
Default setup is the same as before and all the views are locked to content types but now you can tweak what the locks are on a per addon basis.

Ah yes sorry, I forgot to check if I was on the latest version Smile I see what you mean about the first position, I hadn't thought of that. Anyway I just tried the latest version & whilst it's not as clean a transition as the first position it still looks absolutely fine. Thanks.

This is a great addition, I just tried it out with the ITV Player addon and it fixed the dreaded Poster view I was seeing & it's now displayed perfectly. Thanks Smile

Apologies if this has been asked before but I did try a couple of searches with no joy.

I think I can get this skin to work the way I want possibly with a judicious use of AutoWidgets but there is one issue which is really frustrating me.

I have set up a main menu item as Quit.  If I scroll down to that main menu item all I want to see is a static background image I have selected (basically a picture of a switch).  No matter what I do the skin will show random fan art from my movie library.  There appears to be no way of switching it off short of setting up a widget (which I do not want) and setting a widget background.  I guess I am missing something obvious but how to do I achieve the result of main menu item which has no sub-menu, no widgets and the background I select

Did you try disabling "Use showcase hub for fullscreen widget"?

Yes I did have that setting disabled from the start.  I also tried with it enabled to see if it made any difference - it didn't.
This might be a bug in the skin xmls or a feature because I admit it does look nice, but sadly not the look I want.

RE: Arctic Horizon - hacky4real - 2020-05-24

Hi jurialmunkey, in the latest build; clearart is enabled but not showing in movies and tv shows...only showing in the home screen.
