MediaElch is better than Ember. I switched over a couple of months ago, and haven't looked back.

@msderganc: can you at least explain what is better about it, since people have different requirements on their software.

RE: New Home for Ember Media Manager (Official Thread) - NEOhidra - 2012-10-05

From what i see it works. Ember, for some time now isnt truly functional. Sometimes i have to manually assign episodes names, crashing and so on. But MediaElch works and it seems that is under active development, but
- cannot assign local trailer path
- generated .nfo files does not contain file info (such as video and audio codec)

At least that is what i noticed for a few minutes.

That will not let me add hard drives for TV Shows unlike Ember. Seems you can only add directories for TV

Just gave it a testspin and I have to say that I liked it. But at the moment its no replacement for ember as it misses some of the things Ember is capable of and that I need:
- configuring a proxy
- download of extrafanart
- screenshot generation

But I hope the development continues as I think Ember is dying a slow death and a successor would be nice Smile

ember is running so steady that it doesn't need any constant development. at least for me.. and yes it is downloading trailers , extrafanarts, can do manual editing using ember, running from couchpotato as a post script via command line , seamless no hassle automation @ its best

EMM is now refusing to scrape seasons and episodes for like 30 shows in my database. And seeing as others also have this issue now, bodrick should take a look at it. Ignoring a problem because you're working on something else is bad for business.

Wow. Maybe you should demand a refund.

Well I'm still around, still trying to work on things, life has taking a bit of a snafu (you can read into that however you like), but things are starting to improve slowly and so I hope to get back to Ember and complete what I started because I think in the end it will be awesome Smile

RE: New Home for Ember Media Manager (Official Thread) - _matt_ - 2012-10-09

Best of luck with it, bodrick.

As for the folks having trouble getting TV stuff to scrape, were any of y'all able to access thetvdb.com directly at those times? The site's been having issues recently, or at least it was when I was trying to contribute info/thumbs to a few shows last week.

Hi bobrick....

Thanks for supporting the best media manager...
Three easy to do suggestions i would do in this software:

-Replace the rating stars with numbers(because its five stars and you cant really understand the rating).
-Make the film cover(image) a bit larger, so you dont have to click on it to see it (When someone searches for a movie to see, usually he decides from the cover)
-Create the ability to scan movies that dont have a folder, but they are standalone files(A lot of movies you download are standalone files and ember does not recognize them).

Thanks a lot...

TV show issues you may have to re-scrape the TV Show. I had issues with a show or two where TheTVDB change the id number witch cause it not to download any more. One example would be Rob! that show for some reason when I first added it had one id # then a while later they change it.
