I have both licenses correctly installed, e.g. vcgencmd codec_enabled MPG2 comesback enabled and same for wvc1.

Any ideas?

I assume you only have this problem on the pi and not on the windows client, right? I have heard that there is a bug with the pi playing large wtv files. As an experiment to test if that's whats going on: in the 'debug' tab turn on 'remux the playback of all wtv files' and see if playback works.

KR your suggestion worked now all of my recorded content is playing fine. May be worthwhile adding this to the wiki in case someone else runs into it.

Congrats TechLife! Boy or girl?

I loaded this on my media server and it runs great. Thanks to all who brought this to the community.

My EPG only displays 10 channels without the ability to page up or down. Is that normal?

I also run a OUYA with Frodo, is there any conversation about developing the pvr client for it?

Apologies if these have been answered already. I've been reading through 157 pages of threads.....its taking some time.

RE: WMC as the backend - released - spaceboy - 2013-11-24

hi kr, i'm trying to recreate some more of those problem ts files, i had not set it up correctly to retain these. should be easy though

i like the new grouping of recordings, very nice and this is now starting to have similar functionality to wmc itself! one issue i notice is that with the grouping on, when i go into *all recordings i can only see the recordings by their episode title. now this half fixes an issue i wanted to raise previously which was to get series and episode listed which you now kind of get cos you select the series then the episode but within *all recordings its difficult to determine the series. is it possible to change the view within *all recordings but leave the other groups as they are?

thanks

I don't need the ts files, I need the wtv files they were created from. These are recorded files so unless you deleted them, you must still have them are our computer:
Pointless_BBC One HD_2013_11_15_17_12_00.wtv

or look to see if its saved in 'savedfordebug. Other people are starting to use this feature on pi's so its important to work out the problems with it you found.

As for the '*all recordings' list, unfortunately serverwmc doesn't make this group, it happens automatically in xbmc and as you are noticing it uses the title of the file - which in the hierarchical listing is the episode name. Of course, in serverwmc you can choose to append the series name to the episode name, but then it will show up inside the series folder that way too.

It doesn't sound normal. By 'epg' do you mean all the views only show 10 channels? If you have many more channels that 10 but its not showing them, they are probably getting filter out for some reason. Put the serverlog on pastebin.com and post a link to it here.

Lots of people have requested getting it on OUYA, but a build for it doesn't exist currently.

(2013-11-23, 18:18)spaceboy Wrote: hello, so i think have worked out where my problems lie. it was suggested that the problems i was having with playback of wtv files on the pi was due to size. further testing confirms thats probably the case although i've had some as small as 3.1Gb that will not plays and some as large as 6.1Gb that do play so quite a bit of crossover. not sure what else i can look at here?

the follow up suggestion was to use the option to mux to ts. well that works but streams die after a random length of time. this happens on pi and on the pc where server wmc is installed. i see "stream timeout unknown problem" on screen before it dies and this hopefully shows it in the log https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39548367/ServerWMC.log

Hi spaceboy,

Sorry about that, the ability to remux-to-ts pre-recorded files was originally just supposed to be a debug tool. Whether its ready for prime time looks to be questionable, so we should try and sort it out. See if you still have this file:
Pointless_BBC One HD_2013_11_15_17_12_00.wtv

If you have already deleted it, it might still be stored in 'tempxbmc'\savedfordebug so check there too. If you have it, place it here:
https://drive.google.com/?authuser=0#folders/0ByNnAMYBoWvfQVBBNzFhZmNPWUE

and let me know when its there.

a new episode of pointless is ready for you on your google drive. this one died between 5 and 10 mins in. i have the temp ts as well i think.let me know if there is any more i can do.

thanks

RE: WMC as the backend - released - spinnaker - 2013-11-24

Can we get this thread closed please? Any new questions / issues should go in the new sub forum, Follow up on existing issues in this thread can go there too.

RE: WMC as the backend - released - TechLife - 2013-11-24

Here's to 100,000 views!!!

Spin - I think that's our plan but I don't think we want to end it that harshly. More of a transition. KR and I will talk more about it and see how exactly we want to handle it. I know he and I at least are still following this thread as well as checking the entire subforum as well so nothing will go unnoticed.

Scarecrow - Thanks bro! It's a girl. Which, seeing how we have 3 boys, is super exciting!!! And oh yes, we're done. Made sure of that. Wink

kr - I love the new avatar.

awp - Thanks!

Thanks Spaceboy, I found the problem and fixed it. If you want, I can give you a version of serverwmc for you to test with. If you want to try it - out and give me feedback - PM me and I'll get you a build. Otherwise, the fix will be in the next release.

It would drive me crazy to watch with this stutter problem though, did you find some way to minimize it? We really need to tweak xbmc for an update on this bug.

btw, "Pointless" is aptly named Smile.

We just had our 4th seven months ago, so congrats!

The builds for iOS are up on the download page, thanks to Stiefelland for the builds.

Also FYI: the client links there have their name changed to be consistent with the names used in the repo, the underlying versions are the same.

pm sent. you are correct, i need the stutter fixing before i can really consider this as a replacement for wmc, but i'm hopeful that will be done and trying to resolve any other problems in the meantime.

so i think i asked before, but not sure what the answer was; as everything is being remuxed to ts now, what is the chance of slipping in something to transcode on the fly so that full hd could be reduced to 720p/
