RE: CinemaVision: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - jubilex - 2020-03-14 Anyone else having an issue with aspect ratio in trailers that Cinemavision is streaming from Apple/Itunes? 2.40:1 movies are stretched vertically to fill the screen. Oddly, I then manually downloaded one of those same trailers from the Apple site and played it back from within Cinemavision and it displayed correctly. It only stretches when the movie is streamed. Using 12A. This is on a Fire TV 4k; same Kodi and CV versions do not have this issue on PC. How do I add different elements to the sequence? I always get to that point but I can't get any further. anything? I open a ticket but got nothing. RE: CinemaVision: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - K0D1User1138 - 2020-04-23 Sadly appears other things in life have prevented Ragnarok from completing work on Cinemavision. He's been pretty MIA for a long time, only popping up briefly a few months ago and then gone again. I hope all is well in his life but he just doesn't have the time/energy to continue the great work on CV he began. The last release I have working, 1.1.1a8, works with Kodi 16.0 and 16.1. It doesn't work with versions newer than that without significant issues from the last time I tested things. Hopefully there's someone out there who can pick up where CV left off and continue to create a wonderful add-on that is the main reason I ever chose XBMC in the first place. RE: CinemaVision: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - VonMagnum - 2020-04-23 Take the money and run. I'm so glad I signed up for a lifetime membership. I didn't see the fine print that said lifetime of the web site, which can close at any time. If it doesn't work with KODI, there's no point to it at all. I think it worked for a year or two for me after setting it up before the KODI updates killed it. The last time I tried it, it seemed to work, but it was sporadic. Sometimes it would fail and other times it would work fine. I'm thinking maybe I should set up one older device to watch old movies with it on an old version of KODI where it still works and where it would get the correct audio trailers, etc. Oh well. I had a lot of fun collecting old movie theater presentation videos, etc. It seemed really awesome to show them like a real theater, but like a real theater, it got OLD real fast when all you really want to do is watch the flipping movie (I still would like the appropriate Dolby/DTS trailer, but since there's no simple way to detect Atmos vs. Dolby and DTS:X vs regular DTS, you can't really make it show the correct trailer even so these days. If I want to watch a trailer, I just go to the trailers directory or whatever and watch them. It's just nostalgia anyway. I still can't customize my own setup for whatever reason. Youtube didn't exactly help. Is there an alternative to this someplace if it isn't being developed? I have had issues finding time to work exclusively on the project as my jobs became more and more demanding, and members of my family have had (and still have, unfortunately) health issues. Family will always take priority over this project, and while I understand your frustration with my absence, that won't ever change. I can promise that we'll keep this going as long as there's money to pay for all of the infrastructure - and right now there is enough to even just keep the lights on for a long while. We just released a new version of the add-on which finally got approved (after several months of review) for the official Kodi repository. Our server finally had enough, and are currently migrating the site over to a new server with more computing power and more importantly more disk space. We expect the new server to be up today, and our host will migrate all of our data. For the record, the CinemaVision PayPal has only been used to pay for the server, licensing and domain costs. When I started this, I promised it wouldn't be shady and I'm sticking to that promise. The aim was always to have a project that sustained itself cost-wise. I've explained previously how much work actually has to happen behind the scenes and the costs we incur along the way that our supporters pay for. Our developer had to step away and were trying to find another Python developer to to help us move forward. If anyone has leads or is interested in helping, please reach out. I'm furloughed, and will be around next week to dig into issues people are having and get them on our development board, so please post logs! Reach out to ORaid on his site. Maybe he would be willing to help? I'll reach out to 0Raid for sure. I just registered on the site and will reply to that thread the second I get approval. RE: CinemaVision: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - K0D1User1138 - 2020-04-24 Good to see you back, Ragnarok. Hope you and your family are doing well. People get worried when you don't "appear" for long stretches.
