RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - sp3ccylad - 2018-02-18

Hello. Long-time fan, first-time poster.

I'm using version 2.5.30 as previously suggested, but the add-on is refusing to grab available episodes from a programme's listing. It starts to - the progress bar fills to, what, about 5% - but then it gives me an empty results box. I'm running behind on my vintage episodes of Top of the Pops! Any ideas?

I've given it my BBCid and I'm not behind any pesky VPNs. Lordy, I even have a TV license!

To attempt to replicate try:
Categories>Music>Top of the pops>Grab all episodes.

In my case, nothing. Your mileage, etc.

The aired date is no longer available on any of the overview pages of the website, so the add-on cannot scrape it any more. The only option would be to open each episode page separately to retrieve the aired date. This will take a lot of time and cause so much network traffic that the Beeb might block the add-on.

Not sure what you mean with 'episode', can you please elaborate?

I am sorry, but if I do that I get a listing of 33 episodes, as expected. Can you please try if deleting your cookies file helps?

EDIT: Are you grabbing programmes by page? If so, please switch to "All at once" in the settings for the time being and report back here.

RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - tyers - 2018-03-05

Hi,

I seem to also be experiencing a missing episodes issue, but different to the ones described previously.

When listing shows with large numbers of episodes the listing in the add on on capped at 36. This is most noticeable on the CBeebies programs - I checked Hey Duggee (54 eps on the website) and Sarah & Duck (40 eps). One unhappy toddler here as her fav episodes are not available!

Have tried accessing via A-Z and via categories and the same results on both. I have also tried with the list all at once and by page settings.

This looks to match perfectly to the pagination of episodes on the website, which would appear to be in 36s.

Using v3.0.22.

Sounds like there is a problem with recognizing or loading multiple pages for one program. Thanks for the examples, I will take a look as soon as I can - weekend at the earliest.

I think there is a problem with the way it redirects http to https for the multiple page urls. It doesn't translate the next page parameters in the url properly. Try changing the base url to https.

It was a bit more than just that, they changed the whole pagination layout. It should be fixed in the next update. Nevertheless, I also changed everything to https.

RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - tyers - 2018-03-11

Thanks for looking in to it.

I have tried the new update and whenever I load a show with >36 episodes I’m seeing a URL error - url ends in the message “?page=2” or similar, so figure that this would be due to the paginations changes.

It would also appear that I’m not seeing the full listing of shows when navigating through Categories > CBeebies. Not sure if this is related or not. I have some shows from previous versions added to favourites so can still access directly to spot the previous issues though.

TV is currently in use, so I’ve rolled back to the previous version for now. I’ll see if I can grab some logs for you later if that would be useful?

Edit:
So had a bit more of a test now that I've not got a toddler crawling over me!.... and there is some odd behaviour:
If I access a show via Programme List A-Z I will now get the complete episode list as per the iPlayer website (examples from previous post still apply).
If I try to access via Categories > CBeebies the programme list is incomplete - seems to only list the fist 18 shows/folders with a total of 38 items. debug log of this behaviour is here: Debug Log
As mentioned previously I have previously saved a favourite using a previous version of the addon that directly links to Categories > CBeebies > Hey Duggee (on a different machine unfortunately so not able to grab a log right now) and this throwing up the error from URLlib3 relating to a paginated link - not sure if this is because the addon path in the favourite path is now invalid though.

Anyway, I have a workaround for now by replacing my favourites with the A-Z route, but hopefully the above will let you track down any remaining issues. Let me know if you need me to try and get some more logs for you.

Thanks

I am unable to duplicate the error message you mentioned above. Please get back to me if they persist, and include some instructions how to duplicate them.

Thanks for the hint regarding A-Z vs. Categories. The last update broke pagination in Categories while fixing it for A-Z. The next update should address this issue and is on its way to the repo.

RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - pelagic75 - 2018-03-16

Hi,
Not sure if I'm posting correctly but I have a problem with iPlayer WWW that has only just occurred.
When I click on an episode it tries to open it but eventually I get an error message that says "HttpConnectionPool(host='mm.bidi.bbc.co.uk', port=80): Max retries exceeded
Same problem for all shows/episodes.
Up to yesterday everything has been working perfectly.
The debug logfile is here http://ix.io/XHM

Thanks,
pelagic75

using v3.0.24
Kodi 17.6, libreelec 8.2.4, raspberry pi 3

I can't see anything suspicious in the logs. If the error message always relates to the Bidi CDN, there might be a temporary issue with it. Try selecting another CDN in settings. If that also fails, please report back. Thanks

RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - jamesaamoore - 2018-03-16

During the last week or so I've noticed I've not been able to access any of the catch-up content except the very latest episode via channels a-z - select a channel then get the latest episodes but that's only the most recent

All the other menus don't populate anything

Running libreelec 17.6 & 18 Milhouse same results, was working fine up until recently

Live channels still work too

1. Are you able to see menu entries, but not play any episodes or do you not see any menu entries except for the latest?
2. If you cannot play anything, what error message do you get?
3. Are you logged in? If not, please log in and see if the problem persists.

I am most likely unable to test or fix anything this weekend, so all replies here are meant as troubleshooting assistance.

EDIT: I think I misunderstood: You are referring to Channel A-Z only, correct? In this case, please use "global"A-Z for the time being. This should work. I will look into Channel A-Z as soon as possible.

RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - pelagic75 - 2018-03-17

Thanks for the quick reply.
The only CDN that would work was Limelight. Later on, all three would work sporadically. For example, Akamai would work on some episodes of a show but give a timeout on others.
Limelight seems to work consistently.
I'm wondering if this could be related to another issue with an ITV add on that started around the same time. With that problem, I can see all the Show categories but when I click on a category, it's empty, with just the 3 dots for return to parent.
All this started shortly after the update to libreelec 8.2.4
