RE: Kore - Kodi/XBMC remote for Android - Bhaaf - 2015-09-11

A great remote app, but one question:

How can I find/view singles (song that are not in an album) in Kore?
In Kodi these songs show up in a folder named "singles" in the album list.

Thanks!

I have two Rasberry Pi2's running Openelec Kodi 16.0 nightlies.

Everything works fine with local libraries. This morning I experimented with shared UPnP libraries. Kore does not see a library on the UPnP receiving device (Sending device with the local library is fine)

On the receiving device, I can use the remote arrows to select files, etc, but if I use the Kore options like "Movies, TV Shows, Music" Kore does not see anything at all.

If that is not an option, a "Play using..." feature would be great, so I could still view my library on the main UPnP server and choose to play the content on another kodi device.

Using the File Browser on the receiving UPnP device works about 10% of the time, the other 90% it times out. These are ethernet wired RPi2's, not wireless.
I've also had the receiving Pi lock up requiring a hard power cycle while using the Kore file manager, even an SSH reboot didn't work. I'd not had a hard lockup like that before.

My personal user experience with the current state of UPnP, especially when used with Kore and my device configuration seems to be pretty awful. Is that in fact the current state, or am I missing something?

Hello syncd,
nice software but I painfully miss a "Party Mode" button, so I can scan my music library without having a display. Yatse has a window with "Custom Commands". How about Kore?

Hello,

Are you planning to support any kind of "remote headphone" feature? I'd like to watch movies when my kids are sleeping and my smart phone would be a perfect device for using my wired headphone anywhere in the room. Is there any plan regarding to this feature?

Thanks,
Balage

@moejoeblue, thank you that's a great news that it's not my brand new idea Smile I'll try it.

RE: Kore - Kodi/XBMC remote for Android - bdevay - 2015-11-14

Hi moejoeblue!

Simple Protocol Layer works perfectly! Smile

I had to install pulseaudio (Kodibuntu):
http://kodi.wiki/view/PulseAudio

I had to setup pulseaudio according to the instructions (but demonize it and do NOT set system-instance):
http://kaytat.com/?page_id=301

I had to insert a new line into the /etc/pulse/system.pa:
load-module module-native-protocol-unix auth-anonymous=1

I had to install Android app, set Kodi's audio output to the analog one (in Kodi's system settings) and done. It took only 3 hours from scratch without any special knowledge. Thank you for your hint!

Regards,
bdevay

Now that Kore allows changing subtitles and audiostreams and that since Isengard v15 UPnP external subtitles is a new feature, is it possible Huh to exted Kore's capabilities to cast video (Movie/TV Show) to a different receiver (eg. Samsung TV)? The idea is to be able to watch a movie (video+audio+subs) not in the Kodi installed on a Windows 10 laptop but on the TV in the living room.

The thing is I LOVE Love Kodi and will keep on using it. However, an app like Plex for Android allows choosing audio/subtitle and casting the video from the Plex Media Server to the TV Set (subtitles are streamed or burned - trascoding done - as far as I can remember). And I want to be able to do just that with Kodi/Kore. BubbleUpnp has trouble with subtitles...

Any ideas are welcome and appreciated.

BTW @moejoeblue very good suggestion about the wired headphone solution Nod

That seems far beyond the scope of what this app is....an extension of Kodi.

Aren't there a plethora of apps that will already do what you're asking? Or am I mistaken?

RE: Kore - Kodi/XBMC remote for Android - syncd - 2016-01-06

@mixpc, i agree with @bluethor, what you're asking isn't in the scope of Kore (no cast capabilities).

You might have more help for what you want to do in the general support subforum.

Hello all. I wish I could control the main volume from Kore instead of just Kodi's. Or does someone know of an app that will control such thing in a certain computer without being a full remote control app or harvesting all my info?

Thank you.

RE: Kore - Kodi/XBMC remote for Android - nickr - 2016-01-07

Yates has addons that allow control of external amps etc.

Thank you. What is Yates? Because I'm in spanish, whenever I look for it I get yachts. Confused

Sorry mistype. Should be yatse. It is an android remote. It is on Google's play store.

RE: Kore - Kodi/XBMC remote for Android - Zpectre87 - 2016-01-17

I wonder if it would be possible to make Kore "modular" with plugin support? The plugins could then be used to add support to remotes for external players for example. I don't know if it would be feasible, but it would be interesting to see.
