Hi, if externals are built into the installation you'll never have to set them mate so it doesnt matter if you dont know how to do it, its actually really easy as I found out yesterday...

this way, when you update your LAV filter windows installation you wont need top copy anything to you portable folder anymore, i used to forget all the time, it will be easier in the long run.

Ah. Okay. Your Windows Defender is disabled, therefore you don't need to add the "exception fix" to your Windows Defender.

Maybe Avast does not cause slow Python load times. If you don't experience python addon delays on first start after reboot, then it most likely does nothing similar "bad" as Windows Defender.

Actually I have to say yes . When I open DSPLayer, all media flags etc... are very slow in their screen display . Honestly, I have no idea if due to Python and / or caused by the MOD AEON MQ7 KRYPTON. Currently , DSPLayer is installed as a portable installation on Windows 10.

As far as rules are concerned I am of the idea, having available to the end user, rules pre-established and automated by the system for the various multimedia contents, which I know, for example HDR, 4K without HDR, HEVC H265 etc ... without having to go crazy for rules if in itself of "easy" application

@ axbmcuser.
I have tried various Mod Skins MQ 8, unfortunately, with DSPLayer, they don't work, I think because of the updated code. After A reboot DSPLayer, a migration is performed in the initial DSPLayer GUI, which translated causes the incompatibility of the various MODs that I have verified. Sin.

Good morning all ,

in my simplest case:

kodi dsplayer without any interaction with external filters (Madvr, LAV, ...)
kodi configure with Videoplayer by default.

It is up to the user to install these filters, configure them and save the settings.
Likewise with filtersconfig.xml, mediasconfig.xml.

How many times do we update?
you shouldn't end up with a gas plant like Kodi DSPlayer - DirectShow Player for Windows (Aracnoz).

Thanks again to axbmcuser for making dsplayer come to life.

Please excuse my english

RE: Kodi 17.7 DSPlayer x64 BETTERGUI (2020 build) - lightsout - 2020-02-19

Thanks for doing this, go it setup I have two issues.

1. Getting some strange behavior, when I play a file, my remote and keyboard don't do anything. Kodi is unresponsive, sliding the mouse to the bottom of the screen, or pressing alt+tab gets them to start working again. It also happened after I exited out of a movie and when back to the hone screen. Had to click around with the mouse for anything to work. Really strange and a total killer for couch usage.

2. When I change to the external filters, my files won't playback. I just get a quick flash of the screen. I know they are working because madvr works with MPC. All I did was make a rule called "filters", put a "." under file types and selected all the correct filters, which I believe are the ones that do not have an (i) next to them.

what happens if you dont use external filters, do  both issues go away, is this a fresh portable install?

I am currently not using external filters because playback is broken with them, but still dealing with problem 1, going to reboot everything. This is a fresh portable install yes.

Reboot fixed the weird remote issues. Leaving external filters alone for now as everything looks good.

is this is a portable install, just take a copy of it and then test the external filters with that, it might be the reboot also fixed that assuming you've set them up right.

I'll try that, I have them installed with the exe installer, not the method given here. But its been a while. I might just try updating the internal filters as I like having the options in Kodi.

It worked, went back to the original and now its working, strange but thanks.

Anyone reccomend a good skin for v17? I got so used to Estuary Mod for v18, but it is very different on 17.
