RE: Aeon MQ 8 for Nexus - HD_Lat - 2023-02-28

Its and older system and the GPU is GTX 1050 Ti and yes drivers are updated. 31.0.15.2802 is the current driver  ((Correction, I just double checked. Updating driver) 528.49 installed. I do fresh installs too to clean out old stuff.)
I do a lot of photoshop so I always keep my drivers as fresh as possible.
I do have 2 monitors and I remember at one point seeing somewhere about would I like to turn off the other display while watching videos. I can't remember if it was a setting in the monitors or a media player I was using to get the DRM off my iTunes music.
Maybe VLC but that's been off my PC since my last cleaning so 6 months .

@HD_Lat
I see a few "unmatched parentheses" in the log that I have fixed in the next update, but I don't see anything else in the log that would point to MQ 8.

I also analyzed one of my .dmp files with WinDbg, and I see one reference to kodi.exe.

since you are on dual monitors
what little bit i gathered suggested that when kodi is attempting to interact with a 2nd monitor in a dual monitor setup
if that 2nd monitor was off or otherwise it couldnt communicate with it kodi would then crash

its something you could look into, perhaps check behavior when the 2nd monitor is disconnected for comparison

outside of that i dont have anything further at this time

That's what's strange. I never would have known there was even an issue if I wasn't in the addons adding photos. No crash, stutter, hop, skip... Nothing. Both monitors are on all the time. The reason I didn't go to Kodi with it was due to some other skin testing and noticed it was only with the 2 new nexus mods of MQ. Glad I came here because now I learned something instead of it just being fixed in 20.1. Smile
As Latts stated above he also gets the DMP that points to kodi.exe and has sorted out a few minor typing error's. Since the fix will be forth coming I will continue my little tweaking and setup.

Thank you so much for your help tracking this down Jepsizofye.
You helped me understand a little more about how to troubleshoot as well as understanding log deciphering at least more than yesterday.

RE: Aeon MQ 8 for Nexus - izprtxqkft - 2023-02-28

right on, happy to lend a hand

one further note i can leave you to help further when reading logs
when reading a log its better to read bottom-up instead of top-down because the last log entries will usually pertain to what happened just before a crash
as opposed to top-down where the first thing you see is things that didnt have any issue, version and so forth

RE: Aeon MQ 8 for Nexus - dakh - 2023-03-04

Thanks for the skin - it is wonderful.

I have found a small issue - Video Calibration (Settings/System/Display/Calibration) doesn't seem to work on in this skin (version 1.0.0.1 - 01/20/2023) . Trying to adjust the video overscan does not do anything, the arrows do not move. Changing to Estuary skin, Video Calibration works as intended.

Issue is present on Nvidia Shield Pro and Odroid N2+ installs. Both running Kodi 20.0.

@dakh
You're welcome!

Yep...code was added to v20 for the calibration. I fixed it...it will be part of the next update. Thanks for letting me know!

@latts9923

I'm not sure if this is my system or everyone's. When I select menu "Programs" it goes to an empty directory structure. I tried going into customize menu settings and fixing it, but that didn't change anything.
Any ideas?

Try to change the view from the topmenu.

RE: Aeon MQ 8 for Nexus - melons2 - 2023-03-05

I can go to top menu, sort by descending or ascending, search, filter, or image addons but it skips over and does not let me change the sort by name, etc option.
Any ideas?

@latts9923

Great. Thanks once again for all your hard work.

What view is the Program menu using? Are you able to select Right List View? Press:
- arrow button left
- arrow button up
- arrow button left or right to select the desired view.

There is a post here indicating that one of the recent nightlies has resolved the issues. I have seen no confirmation that it really fixes the issue(s) though so at this point I'm still going to wait for a Nexus point release before I test again on one of my Shields.

RE: Aeon MQ 8 for Nexus - martinsvision - 2023-03-10
