RE: OzWeather - Australian Weather Addon using BOM data inc. animated radar support - gmpanazzolo - 2025-02-04 Thanks, I'll keep digging. RE: OzWeather - Australian Weather Addon using BOM data inc. animated radar support - gmpanazzolo - 2025-02-06 I've done a bit more troubleshooting but unfortunately I haven't resolved the issue yet. The only data I am unable to access (from what I can tell) is the BOM data. I am always able to access the ABC weather video.
The common denominator seems to be my main router (EdgeRouter PoE-5), but I haven't made any changes to my router forever. I did have the Google public DNS servers setup (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) on the router so that all of my LAN devices would be using them, but that has been the case for several years. OzWeather has been running perfectly for many years using them. I tried removing the DNS servers so that my devices would use my ISP's DNS servers, but still no joy. The router has been restarted several times. The only recent change I am aware of is that my ISP (Tangerine) switched over to using CGNAT during late January. I am not sure whether this could cause an issue, but it's the only recent variation to my setup that I know of. I'm wondering whether anything stands out as a potential cause. RE: OzWeather - Australian Weather Addon using BOM data inc. animated radar support - bossanova808 - 2025-02-06 Well you've proven there's no OzWeather issue and it's something about your internal fixed network. Looking at all that, I'd have to think it's the CGNAT, given the timing etc. It seems it has to be that - but I don't know what/why, and it shouldn't really happen, as far as my very limited understanding of CGNAT suggest anyway - you're calling out, not running a server or anything needing external ports. I have static IPs with all my ISP connections (work and home) and no such issues, btu I think having a static IP means they take you off CGNAT (and costs a bit more). I'd contact your ISP and say you're trying to FTP to the BOM (they don't need the details as to what/why, not that there is anything wrong with that) - and get them to fix whatever is blocking you. Sorry I can't be of more help, but there's nothing I recognise or can replicate here, so I think that's your best next step. RE: OzWeather - Australian Weather Addon using BOM data inc. animated radar support - gmpanazzolo - 2025-02-06 Thanks again for the effort. I will hit them up and see how I go. Fixed IP is the backup option. |
