RE: CinemaVision: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - K0D1User1138 - 2021-08-27 (2021-08-27, 18:52)Savant Wrote:(2021-08-04, 23:15)Reelyator Wrote: Hi Matt!We have started private beta testing for users on cinemavision.tv. There are a couple of issues that we are aware of and there have been a few people have had issues with their installs that we were able to help resolve. Other than that it looks like we finally have things working again. What version of Kodi is this Beta testing happening on? I run Leia 18 because it's the last (as far as I know) version that works near perfect with 3D and it's where I am stopping unless 3D becomes apart of further Kodi versions properly. CV (rather CE before it) is a massive reason to have gotten into XBMC/Kodi to begin with. Thanks for the info. Using the latest version from the CV site won't play a full sequence. The lack of ability to skip a module with PageUp/Dwn is a missed feature but I can't get local trailers from the library to play and then CV crashes when I get to my cartoons module. CV hasn't been working well with previous versions for some time and I've been trying to get it back to the way it was, when it worked, from before. Further work is appreciated. I re-scanned my content and fixed an issue with my cartoons. Now they work. However local library trailers do not. Also sometimes randomly 3D bumpers are played for what is not a 3D movie sequence. I still get a crash now and then while trying to test. And Dolby Atmos was not recognized by the file naming convention. Instead a dtsHD-MA bumper played for an Atmos film. Do you need a full debugging log or the basic Kodi log? Anything in particular that would stand out as an issue? Just let me know when you are so far to start beta testing! We now beta testing CinemaVision for 19. You can download the beta at https://cinemavision.tv/files/file/676-cinemavision-add-on-development-release-for-kodi-19/ RE: CinemaVision: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - K0D1User1138 - 2021-09-15 I downloaded and installed Kodi 19 to test this new version of CinemaVision. Kodi doesn't stay open for 90 seconds before crashing. Never mind there's still no MVC 3D option. The new CV won't work with Kodi 18. So it's all broken for me on every front. Frustrating. The last update for CV that works with Kodi 18 still doesn't really work properly. So as a user who requires 3D support and uses Kodi for the CE/CV functionality from the very start it's frustrating that as things are "improved" they continue to not function as needed.(2021-09-15, 21:22)K0D1User1138 Wrote: I downloaded and installed Kodi 19 to test this new version of CinemaVision. Its just annoying when people post "it crashes" or " Kodi does A, B, and C, but not D and E" when every team member gives their time and effort for free and doesn't ask for anything in return. I've no issue with you needing support if Kodi is crashing, but at the very least, post a debug log (wiki) showing that or else there is absolutely no chance of it getting fixed/looked at. If I knew how to get Kodi to properly display MVC 3D I would not post that there is no option. Not everyone knows or understands how to achieve these things. Conversely, having something that works and then suddenly it doesn't is problematic for many, many people. I have asked what to post before in trying to figure out why Kodi 18 doesn't work with the last version of CV that was supposed to do.... something for it. I didn't get a response other than go to another website. And that Kodi continues to "improve" while losing the functionality that some users require isn't always a good thing. If you only want to complain that I'm not adding anything to the conversation then perhaps it may be best to take some of your own advice. The condescending snarf of "do it yourself" is a poor attitude from those in the know around here that never helps anything. Without that log all anybody can do is guess. It wasn't meant to be condescending. Again, we are a small team, we lack developers in certain areas right now, and anything that anyone can contribute, no matter how small or large is gratefully appreciated. We all put many many hours into Kodi, via code, support, admin, whatever and we do it all for free. I appreciate you have an issue, but please don't diss us just because you do. We need debug logs, we need people to try and step up with code fixes etc. Basically, we need our users to help us help them. (2021-09-16, 06:01)K0D1User1138 Wrote: And that Kodi continues to "improve" while losing the functionality that some users require isn't always a good thing. True enough. But things move on. Devs write what they are interested in or feel would be a good improvement. This isn't always necessarily what some users want, but that's progress. You can't buy leaded petrol any more. Maybe that's a bad analogy but I'm sure you get my point. Kodi moves forwards or else it stagnates. It's only a small team and the people that might have the skills to fix/look at your issues may well have retired/left/be busy with real life etc etc It's fine to raise an issue or question, but we need more feedback such as a debug log (wiki) to progress it. Preferably we also need someone who will take (or already has) an interest in it. This is not so likely these days for 3D stuff as it might have been a few years ago. I'm just being honest here. RE: CinemaVision: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - grimmace92 - 2021-09-18 Vero 4k+ plays 3D MVC files and cinemavision works with it on Matrix. I can personally attest to it. |
