RE: Arctic Horizon - atown_steve - 2020-07-11 Skin auto updated a couple days ago... What's new in 2.96? Didn't see anything in the changelog. Didn't see anything in the changelog.I think just two small changes (based on the commits). There was a 1 pixel realignment of a graphic (I don't remember what off hand), and a fix for an issues where the plot had a line of text cut off it you turned off all the ratings. I only know the details about the second one because I'm the one that reported it. '-) RE: Arctic Horizon - Edworld - 2020-07-11 Can critic consensus be shown in any view or is it limited to dialogvideoinfo? Thanks RE: Arctic Horizon - jurialmunkey - 2020-07-12 (2020-07-11, 19:30)Edworld Wrote: Can critic consensus be shown in any view or is it limited to dialogvideoinfo? It can show anywhere. It's just a window property like the rest RE: Arctic Horizon - braz - 2020-07-12 (2020-06-17, 02:56)jurialmunkey Wrote:(2020-06-16, 22:34)braz Wrote: Hi Jurial, Kodi has been failing to start when using Arctic Horizon, it crashes back to the desktop when it gets to the Horizon loading screen. The debug log says something about not being able to load an include. Still getting regular crashes to the desktop when using Arctic Horizon on Windows 10. Have to manually change the skin in guisettings.xml to get Kodi to start again. I uninstalled and removed all skin settings and then reinstalled, still crashes with default menu and widgets. Arctic Zephyr 2 and Aura work fine, starting to think it might be script.skinvariables as that is one of the differences between these skins? Let me know if you want any debug logs, etc...for now I'll keep using Arctic Zephyr 2. Thanks! RE: Arctic Horizon - Edworld - 2020-07-13 jurialmunkey: Unless I am missing something in settings, when the plot scrolls it always misses words at the end of the plot. For example with Lawrence of Arabia, the plot is: The story of British officer T.E. Lawrence's mission to aid the Arab tribes in their revolt against the Ottoman Empire during the First World War. Lawrence becomes a flamboyant, messianic figure in the cause of Arab unity but his psychological instability threatens to undermine his achievements. The last words shown after scrolling are: instability threatens to Thanks RE: Arctic Horizon - Orbeatle - 2020-07-13 Hi @jurialmunkey, AZ2 offers the possibility to set the colour to 'darker with darker dialogs'. I really liked that. You ever considered making that an option for AH as well? RE: Arctic Horizon - FXB78 - 2020-07-13 An option to have a random overlay colour would be great, so on boot or a skin reload the background colour would change. I doubt this is possible but it would be a nice option to have RE: Arctic Horizon - FXB78 - 2020-07-13 (2020-07-13, 22:35)Orbeatle Wrote: Hi @jurialmunkey, AZ2 offers the possibility to set the colour to 'darker with darker dialogs'. It's not exactly the same but gives you a similar effect. The debug log says something about not being able to load an include. I use the skin daily on Windows 10 without any issues -- the PSU in my LibreELEC HTPC finally died after 10 years of use (well it's still "working" but the fan has started to make a horrendously unbearable grinding noise of a worn out bearing), so my loungeroom setup for the past month has been my old laptop running Kodi on Windows 10 and I haven't had any issues with crashes. You could test if it is skinvariables script by commenting out this line in home to stop it from running on launch: https://github.com/jurialmunkey/skin.arctic.horizon/blob/master/1080i/Home.xml#L7 I've had reports of an error with skinvariables whilst using profiles but so far I haven't been able to recreate it. Overall, my first guess would be some weird legacy skinshortcuts setup causing an issue - usage of templates in AH is much more extensive than other skins and skinshortcuts does build up cruft in its setup overtime, particularly if you switch skins a lot. It's very possible that something in the setup is causing an issue but because other skins use a simpler implementation it doesn't cause any issues in them. RE: Arctic Horizon - jurialmunkey - 2020-07-17 (2020-07-13, 02:49)Edworld Wrote: jurialmunkey: Yeah it's been a long standing bug - it's an issue with how textboxes auto size to grouplists in the skinning engine which makes it difficult when there are alternate layouts that might change the textbox height (e.g. ratings on/off, episode titles on/off, buttons on/off). I think with the latest version I might've finally got it working properly in all cases. I wouldn't be surprised if I've caused an issue elsewhere though - it's a bit of a game of whack-a-mole trying to get textboxes to play nice. RE: Arctic Horizon - plonster76 - 2020-07-17 hi jurialmunkey, i noticed that loading the netflix plugin takes everytime 7-8 seconds if i'm using arctic zephyr 2 skin. with arctic horizon it takes on average 15 seconds and sometimes longer (rarely 10 seconds). does this only happen to me? I would really like to use arctic horizon but that's why I use arctic zephyr 2 pkscout mod. With AZ2 pvr stuff starts, loads wham bam (blink of an eye), AH sometimes takes ~40sec before PVR Manager is kicked off. Addon widgets also sometimes take noticeably longer (like go make a sandwich longer) to load then normal too, think because of the same timeout probably? If you have both skins installed you probably have both skin helper and tmdb helper running together. Tmdbhelper has a skin setting switch switch to enable the service monitor only in skins that use it - however skin helper doesn't so it will always be running even if you aren't using it. So effectively you are running two service monitors concurrently which is going to add extra overhead.(2020-07-17, 21:24)plonster76 Wrote: hi jurialmunkey, RE: Arctic Horizon - ohhwee - 2020-07-21 (2020-07-21, 02:25)jurialmunkey Wrote:(2020-07-20, 08:34)ohhwee Wrote:Disable skin helper service.
