New builds of the clients are up for linux, now including 64 bit!

Thanks to Tomba73 for the builds.

Adding to what scarecrow said: There are some guys that said they will try to get ras-pi up, we are kind of in handshaking mode right now - I'll post news when I have it.

Nobody has signed up to try android yet.

Hi Krusty just checking in to see if there's been any updates on the channel changing speed?

Keep up the good work

No, I've been focused on the show stopper bugs, like win8 and now trying to get a build going for ras-pi. Scarecrow and I have been talking about what to tackle next though on the server side, and we know that channel speed is high on the list.

OK got 1057 server running on Win 8 and local client on XBMC 12.2. Install instructions need updating, as the server install app now runs in msi installer. On my system, there was no indication of successful install and I couldn't find any desktop shortcut, but was able to run the server from its folder location and it appears to be running correctly (I am using a Haupaugge 2250 PCIe dual-tuner with OTA/ATSC input).

Note that I am running the default Win8 firewall on the HTPC and I had to create a firewall rule for the server (actually the firewall popped-up a request to allow access window automatically).

I did have the NPVR server/client installed and it seemed like a good idea to disable the NPVR client and clean out the PVR and EPG databases in XBMC TV settings then enable the wmc client and enable live tv.

There is no desktop shortcut but there should be a start menu/screen item called ServerWMC. We probably should add a "Installation Succesful" page at the end with a Finish button, just to give that confirmation. Possibly even a tickbox to "Launch ServerWMC Now" etc. It's a basic installer that just gets the thing on there and works on win7 and win8 so we figured once that was tested and working, may as well release it so those on win8 could participate

Just a word of caution, keep an eye on the c:\ProgramData\VDSoftware\ServerWMC.log file, mine had a particular error occuring where it couldnt read a wtv stream file and grew to 10GB until the box ran out of space. we will put fixes in place but for the time being keep an eye on it, and/or restart the ServerWMC app every now and then rather than leaving it up for days

I'm using W8 64 with Frodo 12. My serverWMC is installed. I enabled the addon. I enabled Live TV. I don't see the Live TV selection on the main menu.

How did you guys get Live TV to show up?

I see all my channels under Settings - Live TV - General - Channel Manager and it says that ClientWMC is connected.

What am I missing?

Check settings>appearance>skin settings and see if it's enabled there, also does your skin support live tv?? try confluence and see if it shows up there

I am using Confluence. There's nothing inside appearance - skin settings to enable things there. I have it enabled in System > Settings > Live TV > General > Enabled.

Normally there would be a selection on the main menu (horizontal bar) for Live TV. At least there was when I used NextPVR.

Got it. Found the start menu tile (it was off right edge so had to scroll). Set for auto-start so probably won't ever need the shortcut. Will watch the log.

Thanks for the heads-up on the install instructions, I have corrected this. I guess a pop-up saying that the install was successful would be good to add, but I won't do auto-desktop shortcuts. I think its obnoxious when software assumes they can use my desktop space - but that's just me.

Got it working! I installed Frodo 12.2 over my previous install.

Not sure why that was needed. I had uninstalled NextPVR, or maybe I did something out of sequence while installing this backend.

This is absolutely great. Works very nice. Terrific job! Such a small group and you created one of the best addons for XBMC. I will use it often.

Jeff

P.S. Now if someone could just create a Netflix addon that looks like the one used in WMC (the best I've seen). Hard to believe one doesn't exist for XBMC.

Hi,

Is there any way of extending recording time from the duration of the show? I watch a lot of sport events and I would like to add additional time.
