A lot of cheap android box use remote with very few buttons, and 'ok' long press is used as a contextual/action menu.
I like this behavior, even with my full buttons harmony remote.
For my point of view, subitems are good candidates: short press to default action, long press to more advanced submenus.
What do you think ?

Skins have no control over what your remote does. The only actions a skin can define for on-screen elements is onclick, oninfo, onback, and directions - and in many cases kodi will even override these definitions.

Even if it were possible, I think it's a bad idea to hijack the context button into doing something else - the expectation is that it opens a popup context menu, not an entirely different window.
ok, so if there is no technical way to do it, my wife will have to leave without.  Tongue
She's the really one that didn't find intuitive to press a direction on an element without any visual indicator (for sure, if you don't know those submenu exists, you will never try to press left/down to access them)

Whatever, thanks for your explanation and remarkable work!

What I do at home is set the action of the menu item to open the submenu hub (there's a shortcut for the action under common items in customisation dialog) and then I set the first submenu hub item to be what the main menu item would normally be.

That way one click opens submenu hub and second click opens the main section.

So for movies, the main menu item is set to ActivateWindow(1135) and then the first submenu item set to ActivateWindow(movies)

Exactly what I've planned yo do

RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - Axxel6307 - 2019-05-09

Just had my skin bug out on me. When clicking on a tv show, the next page is black and I cannot seem to change the view. I've restarted my device. Weird thing is I have 3 devices using AZ2 on kodi 18.2 but only one of them is doing this.

Any suggestions to fix or do I need to reinstall the skin? Thanks

I had this same problem, couldn't find a fix until I randomly decided to wipe my build and start again and somehow it started working. But I'm sure you could just reinstall the skin again.

Have you locked any views to a specific viewtype? Sounds like a issue where the viewtype is locked but not available for some reason.

RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - Blutak - 2019-05-10

I'm finding Artyc Zephyr 2 a beautiful and responsive skin but have a request. In multi widget layout, would it possible to disable auto scroll on single widgets? I liked the look of a row of thumbnails, with fanart behind and content synopses underneath. It looked very presentable on screen.

RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - iirigoyen21 - 2019-05-10

Hello,
would there be an option to be able to choose the views by addon (individual), without having to put all the same?
that is, within a single addon, a series give a view, a movie another view.
in another addon another view. to each section choose the view without having to give everyone the same?
Thank you

That is something that would have to be handled at the add-on level, unfortunately.

RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - zaphtpc - 2019-05-11

Hey jurialmunkey, I've been using your skins exclusively since the beginning pretty much; thanks for all your work. I saw it mentioned already but I would definitely like larger home menu icons exactly like in AZ1 -- with text under the icon rather than on the left side of the screen. I've always liked the look of the AZ1 icon home menu. Still using AZ1 mainly for this purpose. That and also because I like the home menu widgets with thumbnails/icons when pressing up in AZ1.

Any feedback on the larger home menu icons would be much appreciated, thanks!

RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - datorkop85 - 2019-05-11

Hello,

Is it possible to have no limit on widget items? I want to have 150 items in the widget. Setting the limit to "None" only shows 25 items.

Thanks!

I was the one asking for this earlier Wink But I am not asking to replicate AZ1, it looks already a bit outfashioned compared to AZ2 ...

But I still find the icons quite small on the home screen, IMO they should be slightly larger than the text on the left side, so that visually they appear of same size and same importance.

Also the menu bar in AZ2 is a tiny bit too dark for me, but now that may be niggling ...

+1 I asked this earlier too Smile He even reacted to it https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=339791&pid=2851743#pid2851743

EDIT: BTW what is this background image pack?

Some other options for the home screen will definitely be coming at some stage - things like classic widgets and classic main menu style
