RE: Confluence Customizable Mod - bigjutt - 2013-05-31

Mudislander - I finally had a chance to play around with the skin and start adding my shortcuts with my own labels. This allowed me the options I needed. I was hoping for a few more Addon Sets. Currently there are only 4 Addon sets for short cuts, I have to use 1 for Movies/TV Shows and 1 for Music. That only leaves 2 sets for my personal choices. I'm not sure how difficult it would be to add may 3 more sets.

I can try myself just need some help getting started. Which xml file do I need to edit and where, which program would I use to edit, save, and ZIP the file.

RE: Confluence Customizable Mod - Mudislander - 2013-05-31

Now you're being greedy Big Grin Start off by getting hold of Notepad++ for windows & having a look at some of the xml files. off the top of my head I can't remember which files need to be edited but there is more than one. Actually SkinSettings.xml is a good place to start. I'll look for the other files a little later. The section in SkinSettings will start at about button id 400. (4th option on settings menu)

RE: Confluence Customizable Mod - nyjetgrl - 2013-06-03

Hey Mud.... I put they Hybrid on my gbox mx2 version of xbmc and I must say it looks gorgeous... I only have one problem... sometimes it just won't shutdown... now I don't know, it could be just an mx2 issue but I thought I'd ask if you have any thoughts on that... when it won't shut down, I just use the home option to get back to the android screen and then force quit... but that can't be good... do you think there would be any issue with letting it run and return to the android menu and shut down android along with xbmcHuh thanks

Openelec - Sesonic - 2013-06-05

Hi,

First of all, I think this is a really good Skin and seems to be exactly what I'm looking for.

For testing, I downloaded and installed the xbmc.repo.hybrid-1.0.0 Zip file on my android tablet and
android phone via the add-ons -> Install from Zip file. Both are running Frodo V12.2 and seem to
work fine.

I was testing this with a view to installing this on my Raspberry Pi running Openelec V3.0.3 which
is also Frodo V12.2.

I encounter a problem with the Pi, I try to install from Zip file via Add-ons but when I do nothing
happens. Now I've installed other add-ons on the Pi (1 channel etc) without any issues but
nothing seem to happen when I try to install from the Zip file on the Pi.

Would anyone be able to advise if this Skin is compatible with Openelec or if there
is an alternative way of installing this i.e. manually dumping the file into the XBMC user or addon
directory. I seen earlier someone had this running on the Pi but it could have been RASPBMC or
something else.

Any advice appreciated......

yes the skin works well on openelec i have two machines running openelec and using this skin without issues

i cannot say about any issues with your RPi because i dont own one but i can confirm the skin works in openelec generic and fusion builds

@Mudislander

with the latest episodes widget can you make it display the show poster or logo (logo preferred with episode number underneath)

sometimes the screenshots it uses gives away things about episodes especially when it is a show towards the end of a season and the screenshot displays a character dead or something that you did not know was going to die or it shows the killer in a crime show

RE: Confluence Customizable Mod - blackbozo - 2013-06-05

I can confirm that the skin works on RPi with OpenElec 3.0.3. However I do have a problem with displaying the suggested episodes. I've a setup with a SQL server on my Synology, one Win7 mediacenter running the Aeon Nox skin, a Raspberry Pi in my bedroom running the Confluence Mod and a laptop running the Confluence Mod as well. On both my laptop in Win7 box the suggested episodes show up correct. At my RPi the widget is empty. I've made sure that all the settings on my laptop and the RPi are the same. Also I know for sure that the suggested episodes widget was working before.

Can anybody help me, the Suggested Episodes is for me the most important feature.

Thanks for the replies.....

I couldn't figure out what was wrong with this so I flashed another SD card with Openelec V3.0.3
and the skin worked fine. May possibly be a space issue as I had downloaded a good few skins for testing.

Now on to getting keymaps and advanced setting working......... Wink

RE: Confluence Customizable Mod - thebearnecessit - 2013-06-11

Hi Mud,

This is my ideal skin - great work - except I have one small problem...

When I open xbmc it takes about 60 seconds for the xbmc menus to become fully responsive. and i takes the same amount of time for the home screen widgets to appear.

I've tried quite a few other skins and this issue seems to be specific to confluence customizable mod.

here is my log file, I wonder if you can have a quick look if you get a minute? http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=27006

When I logged in I presses "return" on the home menu item "system" and it took 50 seconds to open the system menu.

You can see in the log where I press "return" at 13:25:50 and where xbmc becomes responsive and opens the system menu again at 13:26:40.

Can you see any clues as to why this is happening?

RE: Confluence Customizable Mod - cozmo - 2013-06-11

@Mudislander

This Mod is great and almost what I've been looking for- thanks a lot for your work!

I'd like to drop my whishlist that would make this mod "perfect" (for me):

- Add an option for Movie and TV-Show Studio logo
- Show runtime in Movies & TV-Show view (Media Information)
- Add an option to configure main-menue show recent on/off (btw. seems to not work right for me anyways, titels are shown, which are "old" and new ones are missing)
- Show weather-forecast in main menue when button is selected
- Show Year in OSD-info (it happens quite often when you watch an older flick an want to know which year ist's from)

That's my 2 cents ;-)

RE: Confluence Customizable Mod - thebearnecessit - 2013-06-12

Has anyone else had a problem when customising the home screen submenu's?

in the videos submenu, i have found that all of the 5 submenu's all do whatever the first one does. crazy Big Grin

and in the music submenu section i found that only submenu items that i have customised are appearing ie if i set a few of them as "skin default" they dn't appear on the home screen at all.

maybe my install has become confused/corrupted, so i tried an uninstall and reinstall, but i still get the same problem.

is there any folder that needs deleted in order for me to do a full and proper uninstall and reinstall?

After numerous hours of searching for the solution, I found it.

I've overclocked my Raspberry (according to the standard overclock settings) which resulted in a lot of writing errors to my sd-card. Went back to the standard frequencies and voltages and everything works perfect now.

Would be interesting to see a pastebin of your guisettings.xml

To completely get rid of your installation - delete the zip file "skin.confluence.custom.mod-1.?.?" in the folder "\XBMC\addons\packages" also the folder "\XBMC\addons\skin.confluence.custom.mod" Unfortunately all the Mod's settings are retained in "\XBMC\userdata\guisettings.xml" along with all your other skins. This file needs to be removed or renamed Which will result in you returning to standard initial install Confluence

Just out of interest are you also on a overclocked Rasberry as per post by blackbozo?

RE: Confluence Customizable Mod - Mudislander - 2013-06-17

@thebearnecessit - you'll have to redo your pastebin short cut as it comes up with "Unknown Paste ID!"

By unsetting the "Show Episode Thumbnails" it should revert to the TVShow Fanart - let me know if it's not working - logo is not a bad idea I'll look into it.
