You know it just dawned on me...
I know you are still working on the favorites for menus but I could just add settings to the favorites menu if I wanted couldn't I?
Perhaps thats a better solution to my problem without causing problems for others.
My issue has as much to do with the fact I use a mouse not a remote than anything else.

Problem would be adding "Settings" into favourites.

RE: CCM for Helix - Majster - 2015-01-15

I have a strange problem. I’m running Openelec 5 and when I boot it up I don’t see the TV option on the main menu. I have to enter movies, system or some other menu. Then go back to main menu and now TV is there.

I have the same kind of strange problem on Amazon Fire TV (Android). If I’m running original Confluence I don’t see this problem.

Which PVR do you use?
Me, with NPVR, I need to add RecordPrefs.xml file from C:\program files\xbmc\addons\pvr.nextpvr\resources\skins\skin.confluence\720p\ to C:\program files\xbmc\addons\pvr.nextpvr\resources\skins\skin.[ccm...]\720p\

RE: CCM for Helix - Mudislander - 2015-01-15

Thought I'd give you guys a couple of screenshots, just to tease you on how the home page is beginning to look

Large Widgets - Thanks to code from Confluence Modified by SpaceMonkey

Image

Large Widgets with media playing and showing on home screen. MOD reverts to original size widgets due to space restrictions.

Image

Lowered menu bar

Image

Low menu bar with media playing. Addons can only show 5 items but can scroll around to show hidden addons

Image

Obviously you can stay with the original sized widgets if you wish. Hopefully I'll finish the code by the end of the weekend and update the Repo. Also have to find the time to squish the bugs that have come to life recently Big Grin

@Me-- I'll add those files into CCM-Helix.

Also if you guys need files from other addons that worked with Confluence but not CCM let me know. As above a few addons have separate files for Confluence that obviously don't show with CCM

Problem with wraplist on submenus is that if you only have one item it repeats to fill up the six places on the submenu.

Yep.

Actually you guys could voice some preferences about what you'd like to see in the background while browsing lists with media playing.

A - the video playing or fanart of music artist.
B - The fanart of the list item being looked at.

On my tablet (android) I still use Gotham (waiting for Hybrid/Helix Smile ) anyway I use the Hybrid skin. I read a post on this forum about this problem with the slide out menu. It had a file to edit a line in that lowers the tab you touch to open the menu. I got mine edited to put it all the way down near the bottom left corner. It doesn't solve the issue of closing but it does make it so it doesn't jump to closed or cause you to select and option you did not want to select.

"includes.xml"

Edit starting at line 246 to this:

<control type="button" id="9001">

<width>42</width>
<height>128</height>
<texturefocus>Home/HasSub.png</texturefocus>
<texturenofocus>Home/HasSub.png</texturenofocus>
</control>

Sure helped my tablet out.

EDIT: HERE is the thread I got it from.

Was thinking of a button that you had to press to get the menu to slide back. Just an idea and haven't tried it yet. Obviously it would be a skin setting so users like myself who don't have the problem wouldn't have to use it

RE: CCM for Helix - Marx1 - 2015-01-15

I like those teaser screens Smile
I suggest to concentrate on the bottom (scripts integrations etc) and make gui tuning later. This way i (and many other people which use this skin) could already define menus filling it with submenu etc. I'm sure there will be many ideas how to make skin looking better and it will take much time to implement this ideas.

RE: CCM for Helix - falcon56215 - 2015-01-15

As far as the fanart scrolling around while playing music... I was thinking on the old skin when you went fullscreen the fanart would still scroll around... now I just get a blank, black screen. I can see it if I drop back to the main menu though.

I tried this solution and it works. I set it to 250 / 535. No other extra button seems to be required (at least on my iPad). A touch on button 9001 slides out the menu, and a touch on another part of the screen slides it away.

THANKS! CoolNod

Mudislander, great screenshots. Really like how the home screen / menu options are starting to finalize. Also impressed with the number of options you are giving users to be able to customize your skin to meet personal preferences.

I would prefer to have the fanart of the list item in the background, but that's me.

RE: CCM for Helix - figasse - 2015-01-15

Hello Mudislander,

I do not remember if the search in place in CCM is yours or an add-on.

If it is yours, may I suggest the possibility of an extended search with which we could also search movie plots? When one has a few hundred movies in library, it's hard to remmeber the title of every movie, but easier to remember scene, location, etc... Having an extended search would help a great deal ;o)

Just food for thought - If it's a add-on you use, forget what I just wrote ;o)

Im having an issue with the home screen at startup. The Live TV home item does not load when the system starts up. (Almost like Live TV is disabled) However, once I click on any menu item(like System or Weather) and return the the home screen, the TV home item is there.

This only happens when i run CCM Helix on my raspberry pi. (with regular Confluence, I don't have this problem). On my pc, I don't have any problems.

Okay - found bug. it looks like I may have picked a name Kodi uses internally, so have had to change the Settings Submenu. Unfortunately that means this submenu will revert to defaults on updating, but at least it's now customizable.

What backend PVR are you using?

I've been looking at Live TV today and it looks like a few of the PVR addons are going to be an issue. Unfortunately some default settings that have been saved under a skin.confluence folder not a skin.default folder, with the result there is no default unless your skin is named Confluence

I'm using PVR IPTV Simple Client.

I'm glad to know that this something the developers are looking into. I tried resetting skin settings to default; no luck Tried deleting the guisettings.xml file and letting Kodi rebuild; no luck. I finally tried fresh Kodi install before inquiring about this.

RE: CCM for Helix - Mudislander - 2015-01-15

I'll have to look at that one, the backends I found were - mediaportal, nextpvr, vdr.vnsi. pvr.wmc, pvr.hts, pvr.dvblink. Some of them are an easy fix by including the offending file into this MOD. Unfortunately some of the backends share the same file name but the contents are different.

In theory if a skin is missing a file it's supposed to fallback to the Confluence file, but obviously that's not been happening.
