The problem isn't going to be having the time to add and maintain it for me - it seems like the issue will be not finding quality trailers that aren't shot with a camera phone.

If you want, I can PM you the xml file as it stands now so your developer can look at it and see if there are any changes needed.

I can also create a quick web interface where anyone could add trailers to the list as well.

Just let me know.

That certainly couldn't hurt, sir! Once we have a good list, I'll hand it to our developer and let him go to town. I appreciate your efforts! You have a present waiting for you at the CinemaVIsion website. Thanks for helping out the community.

Feedback like this is always great to hear! Thanks so much for the kind words, all. We always intended to use the funds awarded to us for our work to further the community, and it's great to see that what we've done (and haven't even released yet!) is at least in some respects, worthy. We sincerely hope that it's something everyone can enjoy. We've worked pretty hard (well, our developer has worked and we've thrown ideas and feature requests at him non-stop) to create something that everyone here can enjoy. For me personally, this whole thing is a labor of love inspired by what got me using my HTPC regularly - Cinema Experience. I'm not sure where giftie is, or what he's doing, but he deserves the credit for this just as much as we do.

In the current build, no it's not possible. That's one of the last items we have yet to add to the Trailers module. It may not be there when the beta is initially released, but it will be there in the first stable release.

I am looking forward to this, it has inspired me to get a Cubox i4pro to use my ivipid intros with my home theater projector. It'll really add a cool wow factor to the whole setup (I gave upon CE as it hasn't been maintained). Question - Can we set up CinemaVision to play intros/trailers normally (at the default KODI refresh rate) and then force the main feature to switch to 24p?

Jesus Marimba.....that is quite the undertaking and is going to be damn awesome to employ once complete. excellent work.

You can allow Kodi to do this automatically using the refresh rate settings. Hope that helps!

As I set up for another movie night using XBMC Frodo and an old version of the Cinema Experience add-on that actually works (most of the time), I am reminded of how excited I will be once CinemaVision add-on is released. Seems to be so much more user friendly, will work with Kodi, and hopefully will work 100% of the time with no crashes.

At least I have my "Better Than The Movie Theater" popcorn, and will enjoy the feature presentation (Olympus Has Fallen, in case you're wondering). The pre-show left a bit to be desired under the current configuration. Oh well.

Just waiting impatiently for better days ahead!

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - nickr - 2015-08-23

We went to a nice arthouse movie theatre last night, about 30 seats. I thought, I wonder if they will have the facile advertising that the chain theatres have.

Well yes it did have advertising, but all the adverts were tasteful and were for things I thought I'd actually be interested in buying or visiting. What a pleasure. And the trailers were, of course, for other arthouse movies. And we had a glass of wine in the theatre.

I have always thought that Cinema Experience and by extensions Cinema Vision were something that would emulate the very worst of going to a cinema (apart from teenagers), but I can see now that a cinema "experience" can actually be quite nice...

Will there be a way to begin a film in CV without selecting info and scrolling over to it? For example if I select enter to play a movie in a standard format could I press shift+enter to begin movie in CV? Also obligatory "when can we get our hands on a beta?!"

You're going to have to save me a seat for the next one! I heard they scrapped the sequel. I was looking forward to it. Soon, your preshow will be totally OP.

Those are the only theaters I go to now. I love them! That's actually the kind of experience I want people to be able to create with our content, and the content they create and share.

Yes, there will. If all is right with the world, there will be three ways to launch the experience. Check out the second post in this thread for details, but it won't just be from the Movie Information screen. There are not any plans to add a hotkey to start CinemaVision, but that might add a useful fourth option. I'll give you the generic "when it's ready" answer for that one! Wink It won't be long now. Our development feature list has a whole lot of items marked complete. Music playing from the local folder during trivia was just added, as well as skinning support. There are a few features yet to add, but i think we'll be seeing a beta very soon.

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - JigAma - 2015-08-23

If the Addon could find trailer in other language, that'd be great.
BTW a full translation too please :3

Trivia are a good idea, maybe a "Did You know?" thing be great like "Did you know? Christopher Nolan broke an IMAX camera during the production of Batman The Dark Knight Rises."

Anyways, good to hear you are reaching more and more completion markers. Can't wait to play with this shiny new toy!

You can allow Kodi to do this automatically using the refresh rate settings.

Yes, but the ivipid intros are 25 fps and movie trailers are 24 fps so enabling "Adjust display refresh rate to match video" forces the refresh rate to switch when going from a 25 fps trailer intro to 24 fps trailers then to a 25 fps home theater intro and then the 24 fps feature presentation. It takes my projector a little bit to adjust to the new refresh rate, resulting in a black screen delay for longer than I would like (with audio but no video for a portion of the intro / trailer). The only thing I can think of is to play all intros and trailers at 60 hz, but then have CinemaVision force 24 hz for the feature film.

Hi,

Just out of curiosity if i have 2 audio files say "THX Amazing life (lossless)" and "THX Amazing life" do they both go in the THX audio folder or do i have to create a separate THX (lossless) folder?

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - schumi2004 - 2015-08-25

Okay, tested version 0.0.21 and found a few issues (not sure if they are still present in version 0.0.22 since i don't have access to it)

First I fixed myself a executive producer membership to get all content and placed it in there corresponding (auto created) folders.
Went tru settings and left everything untouched (edited 1 item but didn't changed anything specific I think, can't remember it anyway)
Started a movie using CinemaVision using this code in MQ6 skin for Home.xml
Code:
    <control type="button" id="515"><!-- Cinema ex -->
    <include>Widgets_Button</include>
    <label>CinemaVision</label>
    <!-- <onclick>RunScript(script.cinema.experience,movieid=$INFO[Container(510).ListItem.Property(DBID)])</onclick> -->
    <onclick>RunScript(script.cinemavision,experience)</onclick>
    <visible>System.HasAddon(script.cinemavision) + [StringCompare(Container(9000).ListItem.Property(widgets),movie.recent) | StringCompare(Container(9000).ListItem.Property(widgets),movie.random) | StringCompare(Container(9000).ListItem.Property(widgets),movie.recommended) | StringCompare(Container(9000).ListItem.Property(widgets),movie.tvshow.recent) | [SubString(Container(9000).ListItem.Property(widgets),vpl) | SubString(Container(9000).ListItem.Property(widgets),dualwidget)] + IsEmpty(Container(510).ListItem.TVShowTitle)]</visible>
    </control>

and in DialogVideoInfo.xml
Code:
    <item id="4"><!-- CinemaVision -->
    <label>CinemaVision</label>
    <onclick>Dialog.Close(MovieInformation)</onclick>
    <!-- <onclick>RunScript(script.cinema.experience,movieid=$INFO[ListItem.DBID])</onclick> -->
    <onclick>RunScript(script.cinemavision,experience)</onclick>
    <visible>Container.Content(Movies) + !Skin.HasSetting(trailers) + System.HasAddon(script.cinemavision)</visible>
    </item>

The results are disapointing in some sort of way. (I must have done something wrong)

When selecting CinemavaVision (needed to restart a few times my OpenElec 5.95.4 system to properly open/launch addon settings)
It played the CV trivia intro and then the problems started.
The trivia did play but all the questions and answers were completly random, it didn't function as supposed to.
After trivia ended Kodi volume was set to it's minimum (Why?) needed to set it back to 0dB
After everything was finished, it suddenly jumped back to main/home screen, didn't played the selected movie.

I will try to fecth a decent debug log file later but just my 2 cents so far.

Where is this version you are testing? Did I miss it somewhere? I searched here and on cinemavision.tv and couldn't find it. I've been checking daily since August 1 waiting for a chance to test it out.

RE: CinemaVision Add-on: Create a Movie Theater Experience at Home - Ragnarok - 2015-08-25

He may or may not have found the GitHub. It's not ready for beta yet, though, so things are missing and broken throughout.
