UPDATE #8 - This will update the skin to v1.0.0.8

I added an Easter egg to this version. Let's see who finds it first.

Image Additions
  • I added the actress name to the actress art for Right List. There is a new button in the Top Menu to enable/disable the name. Thanks to Juan Mortyme for the request!
  • I added code to KodiFlix and KodiFlixTV to hide the watched flags if "WATCHED LABEL" is disabled in the Top Menu.
  • I changed the code for the thumb image in Layout 1 of Music Viz to use Skin Helper. It will now display multiple artist artwork for a song. Thanks to Holzfred for the request!

Image Bug fixes
  • The Right List view was not allowing you to navigate if you moved the pointer with a mouse. This was tied to the character art code. Thanks to Juan Mortyme for reporting the bug!
  • The discart for List 3D and List 3D v2 for Music was positioned too low for users on a Linux or Android OS. Thanks to jasn for reporting the bug!
  • The watched flag thumbnail was not displaying for unfocused Movies in KodiFlix if you had Boxsets selected as your View Layout and Center List was enabled.

The skin is available via my Matrix repo located at https://holybid.com/kodi/repo/matrix.

There are some areas that are not functional yet...still waiting on some Add-ons to be updated for Matrix.

A few notes...
  • The skin includes the latest updates that were posted in the Aeon MQ 8 Multi-Mod thread.
  • To access the skin themes, install Aeon MQ Skinthemes. (Not necessary if you have already installed the Aeon MQ 7 Matrix Mod)
  • To access the color options in Skin Settings, install the Skin Helper Colorpicker Add-on via my repo. You will also need to install the new Skin Helper Service...read next bullet. (Not necessary to install Colorpicker if you have already installed the Aeon MQ 7 Matrix Mod)
  • Before installing the Skin Helper Service, install my repo as well as the newest version of the Cherrypy script.
  • The Skin Helper Service is not 100% yet...it continues to be updated for Matrix.
  • I'm still working on a Matrix version of the Library Editor script. (Script is now working...download below)
  • TVTunes for Matrix is available on my repo. There is still a problem with the video themes not stopping once they begin to play and you select another Movie.
  • The Video Info screen will now display Sets info. There is still room for improvement with this new feature of the skin.

Hi Guys!

I am very upseet, because I use Kodi in my Sony Bravia KD-65XF85 as a downloaded (android) application.
Yesterday evening I want to watch movie and started the program and the automatic update was beginning and Kodi 18.9 Leia went to 19.0 Matrix.
I used and configured with a lot of hard work Aeon MQ 8 skin and it was broken and the 19.0 loaded the default skin.
I cannot download MQ8 to the TV, it is unavailable, onyl just Aeon Nox Silvo and Aeon Tajo... :/ Sad

Anybody can help me what is the solution?
- Is Aeon MQ 8 skin will be avaliable or the new MQ 9 maybe?
- If not,, how can I reinstall the Kodi update to get back Kodi 18.9 leia? Unfortunately there is no option in the app manager in the setup or Google Play.
- In the Kodi is there any chance to reinstall the update from ver. 19.0 to 18.9?

I want back my favourite skin it is terrible to use Kodi without it... :///

Help me please. Thank you.

WOW!! I waited a while to update this mod until some of the third party scripts were updated.....What a tremendous job you have done! WOW

In your opinion, do you think Matrix, your mod and third party addons are mature enough to completely switch from LEIA?

One problem: In the "Information" screen for movies none of the actors art fills in at the bottom? Is there a solution?

You're welcome...and thanks for the kind words! MQ 8 for Matrix is very close to being 100%...still some glitches (like the actor images you mentioned). I have all actor images load for one movie, but only a few for another movie.

I used Kodi 18 Leia with Aeon Mq 7 for a long time; yesterday Kodi is uptated by play store on Kodi 19 Matrix.
I use it on Nvidia Shield; i install this versione, Aeon MQ 8 for Matrix with zip.
The problem i found is:
- on installing, is stuck on % without moving; i try to delete guisettings.xml in userdata and nothing, but i find a mode (i don't know if it's an error that can be solved): when installing, if i press back two or three times, a button without label appear in top of the screen for three seconds; if i press ok the installation begin.
- next i try to install all script on your first post of this thread; skin helper give a python error (i install before cherrypy script), and tv show next aired give an error of incompatibility with the version of Kodi; the others go fine.
- i install the additional themes but there are more missing in the interface (haloween etc.), is it normal?

Hi, I am new here. I have 2 Shield TV's. A PRO and a Regular shield. Both shields have Leia 18.9 with my favorite skin Aeon MQ 8. Last night my Regular shield updated to Kodi 19 Matrix and broke the MQ8 skin. After seeing this I disabled AUTO UPDATE on my shield pro to prevent this. I have since downloaded the MQ8 "MOD" on my shield with Matrix. Everything is looking good so far except I cannot get the Spinning DISC ART to appear. I get everything else like Posters, Fan art, Case Art... etc. I definitely  selected to ALWAYS show disc art in the sub menus and still nothing. Is this a known bug with the MOD version, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

You're welcome! I updated the link in the first post of this thread with the newest version of Skin Helper available. Try this version of TV Show Next Aired. Once you install the Aeon MQ Skinthemes Add-on, you can download the additional themes from the first post and copy them into the Add-on.

Hi All,

I am finding this Skin very unreliable with constant crashing out of Kodi back to the Desktop.

Nothing is written to the debug logs when this happens which is an issue.

However, I think I can pretty much narrow it down to the Skin Helper Service as it seems the crashing of Kodi is when I go into an area where the Skin Helper Service would run (ie: into a TV Series or LiveTV, etc). Its not all the time in the same spot, for example, on the TV Menu, I can press up to the latest Series and it will crash Kodi. However, sometimes I can do the same, but get right into the series, select the season, then it crashes. I never had this issue with 18.9 and MQ8 mod skin.

Now, in my Add-ons, the Skin Helper reports it is version 1.1.31

However, @latts9923  in a reply below, you mentioned to another user that you updated your links on the first page to go to the "newest" skin helper. The link takes me to the bump version with comparisons and although shows changes such as the version to 1.1.32, where do you download the files to update my current version, as if you go to the releases, it states the version is 1.1.11 (from 2015). If I go to your Repo, you have the same version I have now (1.1.31).

This issue makes my media centre un-usable in its current state. I dont mind trying things to help figure out the problem, but it might be easy for people to say go back to 18.9 where I had no issues. I dont want to go back.

I try the Skin Helper, i think the correct link is: https://github.com/kodi-community-addons/script.skin.helper.service
The version is 1.0.1.1, but when install: Add-on not compatible with this versione of Kodi.

For the tv show it's ok, i have to install both script (first thetvdb and next tvshow) and works well.

If can help you, on interface personalization, add-ons, this is the list of not installed:

For the Aeon Mq Additional Themes only one theme doesn't work: pumpkin (i search in the resource and this folder doesn't exist).

I can't install this Skin Help.  I got an error message saying this script is incompatible with this version of Kodi.  I am pretty sure I have upgraded my Win10 laptop to V19 Matrix.  So strange.
