Ah, it works when I'm signed-out, just not when I'm signed-in!

Can confirm, signing out allows the catch up streams to play.

Ah, I think we are finally getting somewhere. They broke the sign in functionality in the add-on. Depending on whether you are logged in or not, the mediaselector we use returns a valid list of streams (not signed in) or "selection unavailable" (signed in). I have to say this looks like a deliberate attempt to exclude Kodi users because I cannot think of another reason for this very specific treatment. My second best guess would be they made a mistake and meant to exclude users who are not signed in, but mixed the condition up. The latter would make perfect sense given that all other channels (web, smart TVs, apps) require you to be signed in by now.

I have a quick workaround in mind, but this may break even more in the long run. I also have an ace up my sleeve for some time now, which would solve this issue permanently, but everyone would need to sign in. However, I am hesitant to use it, as I don't know how the Beeb would react to it.

I'll need some time to think about this and come up with a clean solution. For now: Signed in usage is broken unfortunately. If users in the UK, and not having signed in, see the same issue, please shout.

RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - stammie - 2019-03-18

Hmmmmm catchup is still working for me when signed in.
I'm in the UK, using version 3.0.41 on Kodi 17.6 and have HLS selected rather than Dash, the CDN choices are set to any and bitrate at highest.

RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - andy_in_worthing - 2019-03-18

Apart from being on Kodi 18.1, I've got the same settings and have to be signed-out to play any catchup TV.

Now that's really odd. Would you and @andy_in_worthing mind sharing your add-on cookie file content with me via PM? While you are logged in, of course.

Happy to, if I knew where it was!  I can't seem to send you a PM either?

The file is located in your %USERDATA%/addon_data/plugin.video.iplayerwww folder. More information on where to find your %USERDATA% folder can be found here: Userdata (wiki).

I assume you cannot send PMs yet, because you did not reach the minimum number of posts to unlock PMs.

RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - DarrenHill - 2019-03-19

Correct. But as this is a legitimate case for needing it, @andy_in_worthing try it now.

You should be able to send the required information by PM.

Thanks!  Hopefully sent now.

RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - stammie - 2019-03-19

PM sent

EDIT:
After what (in my defence) has been a long and tirinbg day I managed to send CaptainT the iplayer cookie from the wrong machine, DOH!
Having just undergone a crash course in Linux commands I've managed to send the correct one.

This has made me realise something, the original cookie I sent was from a machine running Kodi 18.0 rc5 and that too is playing catchup whilst signed in.
I've also just checked my 4K firestick running 18.0 and that is playing when signed in too.

RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - CaptainT - 2019-03-19

Thanks for the cookie files, @andy_in_worthing and @stammie. Not much to see there, unfortunately. The only thing that looks really strange is that @andy_in_worthing's file looks like you were logged in twice with different account. I recommend deleting the whole cookie file and just starting from scratch again. Worst thing that can happen is you need to sign in again.

In the meantime, user ilainftw has provided a potential fix on GitHub. I am not sure if this solve the issue, but it should not break anything as it is only a fallback. I will accept the pull request and get a new release out shortly. Let's see if this improves the situation.

RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - andy_in_worthing - 2019-03-21

Have updated to 3.0.42 and everything seems to be working as expected again :-)

RE: New plugin "iPlayer WWW" - linknet - 2019-03-22

Part of the Programmes List A-Z has recently stopped working.

If I select the Programmes List A-Z then select any letter folder (for example A), I find that all of the subsequent folders are empty, despite all of them showing that they contain episodes.

All of the other sections are working fine, it's just the Programmes List A-Z which isn't.

Any help would be appreciated.

Most likely another website change. I'll take a look tonight or tomorrow.

Edit: Took a look, almost what I expected. They are rolling out the new format, which disturbed only signed in users to everyone and more parts of the website. I think I created a fix which should also work for a longer time. New versions are on their way to the official repo. If they break something else, just let me know.

Thanks for the report @linknet !
