RE: Aeon Madnox - Beta Release (for Isengard) - schimi2k - 2015-12-01 thats why its so frustrating... i only can get a freeze all the time, when i go to menu settings - enable oscars and top250 - go to top250 and try to disable it - i get ALWAYS an instand freeze sometimes i can play 5-6 music albums without any problems - next boot it freeze after third track of first album... here on my dev machine with intel cpu i have almost never a freeze when i use a local database... well you see... all random and like the log from bugraider ... no info what cause the freeze ( i have checked all my logs checked ) - if you have problems to acces the logs, just run it in windowed mode ( AltGr+ ? - button on eu keyboard ) maybe i will start on weekend again to check the latest nightly ... but i try almost everything ( without any unneeded addon, and just addons from of repo, no widgets, localdb or sql database... etc ) until then, every feedback is welcome... could be that we didnt notice the obvious, because we are not skilled skinner ( for me Mike is one, even when he dont say so hehe ) RE: Aeon Madnox - Beta Release (for Isengard) - ShadowTek - 2015-12-01 Hello, using win 7 x64 and Jarvis beta 2, Ive tried everything Ive read here to cause a crash and I can't seem to cause one. I tried to enable/disable top 250/oscar view, played music, music videos, tv shows.. nothing. all seems to work perfectly. The only thing I can think of is I removed and replaced all instances of the skin helper script (I prefer not to use it) but I'll keep trying so I can see if I can help find the cause. RE: Aeon Madnox - Beta Release (for Isengard) - schimi2k - 2015-12-01 (2015-12-01, 18:56)ShadowTek Wrote: Hello, using win 7 x64 and Jarvis beta 2, Ive tried everything Ive read here to cause a crash and I can't seem to cause one. I'm just shooting in the air here but since we have no clue so far what causes this.... Maybe something causes the RAM to fill up which might lead into a freeze? I don't even know if this is possible... Keep on brainstorming guys, we'll find the problem! RE: Aeon Madnox - Beta Release (for Isengard) - neurosis13 - 2015-12-01 (2015-12-01, 19:22)schimi2k Wrote: so it seems MUCH less problems with intel cpus Hi Schimi, i just installed the latest nightly on my iMac with intel cpu and i got a freeze after 15min while exiting the movie info page ( not sure if it was the extended info movie page) It's an intel cpu so i think it's not a cpu thing..... i am not sure if this has been tried before but next i would remove all add ons/scripts and try again, in this way we can be absolutely sure that it is a skin issue and not a script add-on that the skin uses. On the other hand it's still Beta 2 so i wouldn't throw myself out of the window yet..... Very few freezes using W10 Intel Xeon X5690 6 core @4.2 Nvidia GTX 650 Ti. Jarvis nightly Imo, 1 freeze is 1 too many. The freezes I've had tend to occur after periods of inactivity and not really during use although they have occurred then as well. There are times I install a nightly and have no freezes. None. I think it was around 11-24-15? I used it a few days, updated, and freezes started again. I would use that nightly to test again but fixes for other problems I presented to devs have since been released. Again, I had no freezes using that nightly. Someone else should confirm. I think freezing issues have occurred for others, reading the forums, unrelated to this skin. I would wait for Jarvis to finalize before pursuing and it should be getting close to release. Again, try the nightly +/- a few days from the 24th. RE: Aeon Madnox - Beta Release (for Isengard) - shaktoo - 2015-12-01 I have Core i7 4790K @4GHz, Nvidia GTX 970, 16GB RAM,SSD, Win 10 , Jarvis Nightly, tried with Beta 2 as well) still get freezes random but mostly getting into or out of menu's. Overnight left itrunning min windowed mode without any crash but as soon as I try & go into any Menu Esp TV Shows for me when it just Hangs. RE: Aeon Madnox - Beta Release (for Isengard) - gotham_x - 2015-12-01 Even here freezing. which is not ' depended on hardware components and / or AMD CPU, I run with Windows 10 Pro CPU sixth generation Skylake i7, 16GB ram to 3200Hz, Nvidia GTX-970 and Kodi DSPlayer - Jarvis beta However, with DSPlayer not more developed and freezing skin MadNox, we made fundamental initiatives REWARD: Obviously, not in nature ... Going into Movies or TV Shows. But I have to say, that I had 3 freezes during the afternoon and so far that was it. No freeze for hours now. Only thing I changes was disabling the screensaver. EDIT: wasn't the screensaver Running Jarvis 16 Beta 2 on MacMini i7 8GB Ram RE: Aeon Madnox - Beta Release (for Isengard) - gibxxi - 2015-12-01 My specs are in my sig, but for clarity: Desktop: Intel Core i7 'Haswell' 4770K @ 3.5GHz, 32GB Patriot DDR3 XMP-2133MHz, Gainward Phantom (GeForce 770 GTX). HTPC: Intel Core i5 'Haswell' 4670K @ 3.4GHz, 32GB Patriot DDR3 XMP-2133MHz, EVGA Geforce GTX 750Ti. Laptop: (ASUS N550JK) Intel Core i7 'Haswell' 4700HQ @ 2.4GHz, 8GB DDR3, Geforce GTX 850M + Intel HD4xxx. Had freezing issue on both the home-build systems (Desktop and HTPC), but none yet on the Laptop. But don't tend to do much digging on the laptop. It resides in the bedroom, and I just queue something up at night time before bed and 'play' it. |
