you could try to turn off InputStream Adaptive in the plug-in setting….

For those who already updated manually: Do you also experience a slow down compared to 7.0.2.2, e.g. when listing a channel?
I'm currently using 7.0.2.2 again with this patch https://github.com/anxdpanic/plugin.video.youtube/issues/587#issuecomment-1961212166 and a manual adaptation of https://github.com/anxdpanic/plugin.video.youtube/commit/3b83a6619736ac0f9e940e6a70c0f806f06bfaf0 to the old structure. This also allows me to keep my search history.

Thanks for mentioning the alpha 7. I had the same issue but was running v18.9 Leia since I found no reason to upgrade.
Installed the latest v20.5 and YT 7.0.3.2 which ran quite well but I had no subtitles.
Downgraded to 7.0.0 and YT broke. Alpha was the sweet spot.

The answer is no
You must check manually if there is a new version from public repo.
If there is a new version you can install this version then automatic update start again

Hi, I got the latest from github (7.0.3.2) and was able to do a search but was unable to watch any videos. I checked my log and it said it was a 400 - bad request error.
Using osmc with pi 4.
