I'm able to do it by going through TVGF >> Stream Setup >> Browse >> PlayOn browser and adding the link to each live stream but the problem is that when the PlayOn server is restarted, it generates new links with a new GUID (highlighted in red below).

Ex. plugin://plugin.video.playonbrowser/?url=%2Fdata%2Fdata.xml%3Fid%3Ddirectvnow-e2bdf68333d44a4c936e6bf0f680f410&mode=9&name=Live+Animal+Planet+-+Monsters+Inside+Me+-+s04e03+-+Choosing+Between+Life+and+Limb

I've tried using the Stream Searcher add-on but have not been successful with it. Primaeval was helping me out here (https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=282157&pid=2637102#pid2637102) a while back.

To answer the question:
Can you link directly to the "Live AMC - National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" stream from "TVGF\Menu\Stream Setup\Browse" ?
The answer is yes.

And I can continue to stream that channel up until the point where the PlayOn server gets restarted which then generates different GUIDs for all of the streams causing PlayOn Browser to throw an error and say that the stream was not found.
That does look like a job for Stream Searcher or PVR Plugin Player. If you make a channel called "Animal Planet" they should be able to find it through TVGF. Make sure those addons are set to search every time.
There was a fix to PVR Plugin Player from dh4rry recently that might fix your problem.
I can't test PlayOn myself.

RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - Doctor Eggs - 2017-12-09

The problem that I'm having is that the folder naming structure for the DirectvNow live TV section is all the same.

Ex.
AMC >> Live Channels >> stream
FX >> Live Channels >> stream
TBS >> Live Channels >> stream

I add the folders for those three by right clicking on the "Live Channels" folder and selecting Add Folder. When I add channel "AMC" and "FX" and "TBS", and try to open any of those, it doesn't find anything. If I add a channel "Live Channels" it will find all three. I've tried adding "AMC Live Channels" but that will also search and find all three.

Is there a way to get it to also search on the folder above?

I see what is going on now. That is a pain.

What else is in the AMC folder and does the "stream" have a name and does the "Live Channels" link play the channel?

You could ask Lunatixz to modify his addon to pull out the live streams into one list so you could add it into TVGF. He might already have done something to pull them into PseudoTV Live.

The folder structure is like this:
AMC >> All Movies >> List of all movies
AMC >> All Shows >> List of all shows
AMC >> Live Channels >> List of all live tv streams (AMC only has one but ESPN/HBO have a couple)
"stream" does have a name when using PlayOn Browser. It uses the naming structure "Live [channel name] - [Name of show] - [season/episode] - [title of episode]"
So for AMC it is "Live AMC - The Rifleman - s02e21 - The Spoiler"

When I go through Stream Searcher the "stream" is labeled whatever the containing folder name is, so it's "Live Channels" for the example above.

If you only add one "Live Channels" folder to Stream Searcher for say AMC does it manage to find the AMC channel?

If it does I could probably find a workaround by making sure the "Live Channels" folder was unique in the addon database.

Lunatixz is already helping me out with an issue of my Playon Server UPNPid not getting refreshed. I'll see if he'd be willing to add that in but if not, I may edit PlayOn Browser to add the previous folder name into the title for menu items that say Live Channels so "Live Channels" would turn into "AMC Live Channels".

If I only add one "Live Channels" it works perfect.

Would that workaround make it so I can add multiple live channels and be able to find them individually?

Yes. I'll see if I can fix it for you. I expect I stored the Folders by name instead of by url.

It looks like I have done it the right way.

If you add "Live Channels" for AMC and FX does the AMC channel search still work?

RE: TV Guide Fullscreen - possibly the most powerful TV Guide in the world. ;) - Doctor Eggs - 2017-12-09

When I try to open the AMC channel, I get a modal pop up with the title "AMC" but nothing inside it.

It is definitely visiting the "Live Channels" folders for AMC and Comedy Central, and it is searching for AMC.
It should match "Live AMC - Blazing Saddles".

Could you post the contents of userdata\addon_data\plugin.video.stream.searcher\cache.json
That should hold a list of all the streams it has found.

Thanks. That doesn't look right.
The name of the channels is actually "Live Channels" rather than "Live Comedy Central".
Are you sure there isn't another deeper level of "Live Channels" that you could have added with "Add Folder"?
How does it show you the actual streams in the addon: by dialog or by listing?

If I go one level deeper, it shows "Live Channels" as the name of the stream in the list when I'm trying to add a folder. If I right click on that, the only option I have is "Add to favorites". If I left click on it, it will play the stream.
(2017-12-09, 20:25)primaeval Wrote: How does it show you the actual streams in the addon: by dialog or by listing?
When I go through the PlayOn Browser add-on, it is shown in a list and is displayed with Live AMC - Blazing Saddles as the list item instead of "Live Channels" which is displayed in Stream Searcher.
