Cartman.dos the dev of Titan Bingie mod has recently updated Skin helper service widgets with a new widget which sounds cool but I believe it needs skin support and from my testing in AZ2 it works like "Next Episodes", I guess what I am hoping for is some improvement on this part if possible or make use of the new widget Cartman.dos have made would be nice.

I've also released an update for skin helper widgets, that adds a new widget that is now used by default in bingie (if you're not installing fresh you have to reset menu to default or set the widget manually via skin helper widgets node). This widget is 'Continue Watching Episodes' and it comes to replace the use of 'Next Episodes'.
The change is delicate but important - it will fetch the last played episodes and will return them for you to continue or the next episode after the last one you watched. Difference is that 'Next Episodes' is returning episodes only for unwatched tvshows (so no re-watch) AND it returns the next UNWATCHED episode, so if you've fallen asleep and tv kept going or your gf want to watch a different episode or you just want to re-watch the series you won't be able with 'Next episodes'. In sum, it's like the continue watching widget for netflix.

This widget must be in a fork by cartman.dos as I don't see it anywhere. Shouldn't need skin support though - you should be able to add it as a widget just like any other add-on path.

Personally though - I find widgets that "continue watching" or show "next episodes" to be a pain because often someone else in my house has been watching the same series as me, but at a different time and/or is up to a different episode and then that just messes up the widget. Also, I might be re-watching something that I've already seen, or maybe I fell asleep watching something and a few episodes went by.

That's why I prefer to use the "Recently Played TvShows" default widget playlist. That way I get a list of tvshows that I've recently watched and I can click on them and just find where I was up to rather than worrying about whether someone else has messed up the "next" episode.

Unfortunately there isn't a sort method for "in-progress" - the closest you can get is "last played" by "descending".
That will at least put the most recently watched movies at the front. The main issue is that 100% watched recently added movies will also come to the front, which is what I'm guessing you are trying to avoid.

One solution is to combine two playlists so that you can mix matching:

Playlist One "Unwatched Recently Added"
Rules:
"Date Added in the last X weeks"
"Playcount is 0"
"Match ALL rules".

Playlist Two "In-Progress and Recently Added"
Rules:
"In-Progress True"
"Playlist is Unwatched Recently Added"
"Match ANY rules".

This approach allows you to mix "and/or" matching - i.e.
In-Progress OR [Unwatched AND Recently Added]

The second playlist should now show In-Progress movies and Unwatched Recently Added.
Because the recently added haven't been watched, then sorting by last played will put all the in-progress first.

That sounds like the Trakt add-on isn't returning watched statuses for movies, for one reason or another. It could be broken, or just not turned on in the settings?

I will double check but i think i set that up correctly. Reinstalled kodi just to see if this gets resolved but it did not. I have no other ideas. Thanks for your help!
