RE: Testflight access to beta version - kambala - 2024-12-22 FYI AppStore submission is already pending release RE: Testflight access to beta version - Buschel - 2024-12-22 Go for it. I am confident. RE: Testflight access to beta version - Buschel - 2024-12-22 1.16 is now available in AppStore, just in time for Christmas.🎄 The next 1.17 TF build is also on its way, using new XCode and providing proper support for dark/light/tint icon themes. As always, the first TF build for a new release will take 1-2 days until it will show up. RE: Testflight access to beta version - UlfSchmidt - 2024-12-23 Coming back to my issue with the sometimes missing aspect ratio: (2024-12-22, 11:13)Buschel Wrote: The App currently requests the data for the NowPlaying overlay via "XBMC.GetInfoLabels", which equals what would be shown during playback. With the default skin this info is displayed on the bottom right when showing the info ("i" on the remote app) while playback. @Buschel, you are right, this problem has its origin in the Kodi server, as also the local UI is missing this information on the Now Playing screen for some of my videos (these have in common that they use VP9 as video codec). So the behavior is at least consistent and it is not an issue with the App. RE: Testflight access to beta version - Buschel - 2024-12-23 (2024-12-23, 10:48)UlfSchmidt Wrote: So the behavior is at least consistent and it is not an issue with the App.Thanks for confirming. I am currently reimplementing the playback. The approach is similar to what I already did with slideshows and resume, simply using the Player.Open API and not building a playlist first and then playing it. This allows to simplify the logic quite a bit, and I expect this to be again start playing faster for huge playlists, e.g. when playing whole folders. Now I came (again) to a point where some special handling had been implemented for the music album view only. If you select a track of an album in this view, and then select "Play", it will load the whole album into a playlist and then start playing it from the selected track on. In case of "Play using..." it will play the whole album from first track, ignoring the selected track. When selecting "Queue" or "Queue after current" only the selected track is processed. Quite inconsistent. I tend to change this to a consistent behaviour, where selecting a track will only process this track -- as done in all other views when processing an item. It is still possible to click on the album to process the whole album. In worst case I could implement a new action called something like "Play from here" and keep supporting this special handling. Any thoughts? RE: Testflight access to beta version - UlfSchmidt - 2024-12-23 Very very good idea. I always asked myself why this had been implemented in such a strange fashion, especially since this behavior is only applied for the very first song added to the music playlist, where out of a sudden the whole album is added. Then, for any further addition, in fact only the selected song is added. So I fully support this change! RE: Testflight access to beta version - Buschel - 2024-12-23 1.17 build 4905 Release Notes First build towards 1.17, only changes are using Xcode 16 to build the app and the support for dark/light/tint icons. This build can be used to check, if issues came in by new Xcode / SDK. RE: Testflight access to beta version - amasephy - 2024-12-23 Congrats on the new release. A lot of hard work and most definitely a fantastic release. 👍🏻 Almost reported this as an app issue but seems to be another iOS 18 bug. On my iPhone I have the Kodi app in a folder. The folder shows the apps that are in it but obviously uses small icons as a preview as to what is in the folder. The Kodi app icon was still appearing white on the preview. When I tapped the folder it would correct itself to the new dark theme. Existing the folder view would revert it to light theme. I had to remove the app from the folder and re-add to fix the problem. Otherwise no icon issues to report. I would like to raise the discussion about the icon graphic itself. Near as I can tell anywhere you see the Kodi logo there is not a box in the center but on the app icon there is this strange dark box. Is there any chance this could be removed to make it in line with what is on the official website? Even inside the app the icon does not have this. Edit: Looks like the action sheet glitch I reported on iPad with the now playing playlist is still an issue. Basically if you display the action sheet on a list item that is near the bottom of the screen then rotate it will try pointing to an item that is off the screen. In my opinion best way to avoid is to just dismiss the action sheet here upon rotating. Just an educated guess: Maybe you refer to the different transparencies used in the app icon (which is also used in the App Version Info screen)? The app icon is intentionally different, as it is not Kodi itself but it's remote. Therefore, the remote app icon highlights the top/bottom/left/right corners in non-transparent blue (referring to remote's up/down/left/right buttons), and transparent blue for the inner parts (which makes this area less prominent). Which is correct. In my opinion removing the sheet is not required, it still shows the details of what was selected in the top area of the sheet itself. Honestly, I also wasn’t aware of this, but now the App icon really makes sense and I find this way of tweaking the original Kodi icon brilliant! Thanks for the explanation. Merry Christmas!🎄 RE: Testflight access to beta version - Buschel - 2024-12-24 Funnily enough I just got the same feedback (app icon does not look right in dark mode) via TF. I guess the highlighting is a lot less prominent in light mode, and no-one was really bothering about it. Could you please post for us glued to iOS 17 or earlier how the App icon nowadays looks in different iOS configurations? Thanks! Thanks! Sure (light/dark/tint): RE: Testflight access to beta version - UlfSchmidt - 2024-12-24 That was really fast! 😅 Thanks! With your explanation in mind, I would say, all variants look great. But obviously not anyone knows that the four corners should resemble the remote buttons. And I learned that a good user experience should be intuitive, and should not require any special knowledge - but you need this additional information to understand why the icon looks like it looks. I would suggest that you collect more feedback on this and then decide… |
