xTV Fonts NTSC 4:3 - pender - 2007-08-04 Hello Everyone, First I would like to thank all the developers of this skin for all hard work. How do you enable NTSC 4:3 on this skin? As soon as I change the skin from PMIII to xTV i believe it uses the PAL settings by default. The skin works correctly, but there is no text (or blank titles) on the screen but all the images are properly displayed. I must be missing something and too dumb to figure it out. Under the /xTV/skin.xml I tried to change the default 4:3 skin to NTSC instead of PAL but after than it would not even load the skin (just went back to PMIII). I tried the same for the screen resolution in PMIII (->NTSC 4:3) before switching skins and nothing. Any pointers would be appreciated THanks - jmarshall - 2007-08-05 You don't have to do anything. You especially don't mess with the skin files. If the fonts don't display it's because you either didn't install the skin correctly, or have the font colours set to black. - eQUIV - 2007-08-05 jmarshall Wrote:You don't have to do anything. I've installed the skin several times now, I've deleted and started from scratch. I've also tried downloading the skin and rebuilding it 2 or 3 times in this process, and still I'm getting NO fonts. I can tell because even when i'm playing a video or music and bring up the display I cant see any text. Any ideas? - jmarshall - 2007-08-05 There's plenty of troubleshooting you can do. Here's 2 for a start: 1. Look in the logs (Debug Log) to see what's going on. 2. Check that the font is present (font.xml), fonts/<fontname> - eQUIV - 2007-08-05 I made a log and this is what it read Quote:18:47:31 M: 40022016 INFO: load skin from:Q:\skin\xTV Does anything here seem out of the ordinary? I've checked the folders and all the files are there. - jmarshall - 2007-08-05 It's loading the font just fine by the looks of the log, and xTV works fine with latest SVN of both XBMC and xTV. With skin colours set to the "white theme" then the font will be black, and thus hard to see. - Jezz_X - 2007-08-05 The other problem is he is using a really old build of XBMC that dosn't support the Color dir for fonts. But we didn't get the build date from the top of his log - eQUIV - 2007-08-07 After updating to the newest build of XBMC this is no longer an issue for me. Thanks for your suggestions. - djdafreund - 2007-08-07 One more thing please if you get time. Could you please add the same view to Music views, and/or add 4-5 to each side instead of 3 on each side (for 16x9) since the whole screen uses the view, it fills up space nicer looking. Just a request of course. Thanks still for giving us this mod, hopefully it will be incorporated into the official xTV skin. Looks great. Thanks!!! - kdid - 2007-08-09 CHI3f Wrote:If you want to you need to edit Home.xml I have no success when changeing where TV-section goes. When i edit home.xml and change (under the TV-section): Code: <onclick>ActivateWindow(MyVideoLibrary,tvshowtitles)</onclick> and replace MyVideoLibrary, tvshowtitles with simply MyVideoFiles (as the movie-section uses) skin wont load at all. - nick999 - 2007-08-09 This is a brilliant skin - absolutely superb, the first one that's been better than Project Mayhem, especially with the coverflow mod above. Quick question - is it possible for someone to list out what each option in the Skin menu does? They're not all intuitive. Secondly, I've come across a really annoying bug. When browsing TV Shows in List view, the watched/unwatched icon appears. However, once the episode picture shrinks in size to show the synopsis, the watched icon disappears. Unfortunately, it never reappears until rebooting the xbox. Is it possible for this bug to be fixed, or for me to manually prevent the synopsis from appearing? Anyone know how to go about it? Carousel home-menu in xTV? - Gamester17 - 2007-08-10 @CHI3f, have you thought about implementing a 'carousel home menu'? I think a circular and rotating home-menu would really suit the xTV skin, more than any other existing skin for XBMC http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=26877 ...in fact the latest Front Row it nu like that http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptegiuEQ1ZU - dmx_wyrw - 2007-08-10 Gamester17 Wrote:@CHI3f, have you thought about implementing a 'carousel home menu'? Though a another skin based off front row one could make. - Gamester17 - 2007-08-10 I didn't say xTV was a Front Row replica, I said that a carousel home menu like Front Row would suit xTV - freedreamer - 2007-08-10 mmh good idea a carousel menu ! it would be great IMHO. |
