  • Updated libraries: Bumped libcurl from 7.52.1 to 7.61.1 & openssl from 1.0.2k to 1.0.2u (dated 2019-12-20)
    This should fix the very specific x64 ssl/curl bug (and therefore youtube and repo connection problems) only(!) when using modern Intel CPU (See https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/14777)
  • Updated library: Changed zlib from "zlib-1.2.11-x64-vc140.7z" to custom "zlib-1.2.11-x64-v141.zip" (Should be safer, even i could not reproduce a bug, see https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/14109)
  • Hide EVR video renderer settings in "Video Settings Dialog" when madVR video renderer is used (which should be 99.9% of all cases)
  • Updated some localization strings for DSPlayer
  • Context menu on video items now always shows "Play from here" and "Play only this" (Workaround for "automatically play next video" related bugs which Kodi has to this date)
  • Minor stuff, including: Corrected build/application copyright/company name from "XBMC-Foundation" to "XBMC Foundation" (Has been changed in newer Kodi versions)

fantastic ! - Hi, i'll install this straight over the top of BG6 to see if I get that issue with external filters not working again.


EDIT - same issue again mate external filters not working again after install straight over the top.

i'll now do a clean install and copy my user data over to see if that works as it did last time.

EDIT 2 - hold fire on that, something odd going on here, maybe an issue at my end or a misunderstanding. I test this by setting my LAV filters to mix to stereo so I can tell when external filters are being used. However i've just gone back and tested BG6 and this is still pumping out surround, I deleted the LAV filters from my BG6 install so I could be sure the externals were being used.

EDIT 3 - you'll be glad to know it was user error, BG6 ^ 7 are both spot on. The issue was simply that I didnt realise you couldnt sum to stereo in LAV filters when bitstreaming is enabled, or at least I cant, when in PCM mode it summed to stereo and I can now tell that i'm using external filters.

Sorry about that, at least we now know there is no bug which is wiping external settings and playercorefactory, user error Smile

I'm totally confused now, leave this with me to see if I can get my head around whats going on.

Thank you very much for this work! I am a long time DSPlayer 17.6 user, and I'm a little unsure how to upgrade to your version. I tried removing my existing Kodi, Madvr and LAV filters installation, and installing BetterGUI 06 as a new install, but HDR content was not recognized (displayed) as HDR even with the same settings as my previous installation. I was unable to get HDR working so I reverted to an image I saved before the upgrade. Should I simply install over the top of my existing installation, or is there a recommended procedure to remove existing installations?

You still need to have MadVR installed. Wink

Also did you read and follow the "Information on using Filters (Internal vs External)" instructions in the first post and created the rule?

Hi, was your old install a full install or a portable install?, if you are not using portable you should be really as it makes updating much easier when things go wrong. 

Updating should be straight forward on portables, just install over the top and everything should be working, no need to do anything with LAV filters or MADVR.

Thanks mclingo - full install. I think it may have something to do with the auto-generated rules, as some HDR files play ok. I have reverted to an earlier image but i'll try a portable install next time so I can troubleshoot

Hi, mate, i'd do a full new clean install and run it as portable and start again from scratch,i've always had issues with full install and registry, portable is much better. This way you can run several installs at the same time if you need to test anything, and if something goes wrong all you need to do is run a clean install, then copy your portable data over.

what filename extension do the files have which don't play okay?

it might be possible that the files which do not play okay use a filenname extension that does not invoke DSPlayer/MadVR.
The default rule enables DSPlayer/MadVR for mkv, mp4, mov, avi, wmv, flv, mpg, mpeg.

A logfile from when a movie does not play okay would help a lot.

just want to let you know that by only invoking DSPlayer/madVR for specific filetypes, most of my LiveTV and TV recording playback issues have been resolved! 👍

I'm using the MediaPortal 1 TV Server and thanks to the new rules in this build, LiveTV/recordings do not use DSPlayer/madVR. That fixes many of the issues i had with LiveTV/recordings.

Mclingo & solidservo - thanks for the input - I have reinstalled as portable and added 'ts' to the filetypes in the default rule, and now all my hdr files play ;-)
I am currently letting madvr decide what to do with hdr files - should I 'tone map HDR using pixel shaders' for max quality?
