RE: YouTube - diridachta - 2024-09-07 The problem I had is solved with the new update 7.0.9.2 that appeared. However I had to install it twice: The first time I made the mistake to ran the setup which resulted the plugin to hang and the Kodi to reboot. So I uninstalled it. The second time I avoid the setup procedure altogether and now it plays good. As a last word, I have to note that another plugin that is based on the YouTube plugin stopped playing nice after this update (yt channels) but this is another thread's post. Thank you all for the help! 🙏 RE: YouTube - caperucitaferoz - 2024-09-07 Quote:You can if you need to, but I wouldn't recomend using anything from my personal repository as it is only intended for testing/staging/backups and I make little/no effort to check or ensure things work. Bit busy at the moment but I will get around to releasing a new beta release shortly.Time is a great treasure! I don't have time to update my code right now either, so as a temporary solution I'll share this test version of your addon. Time is a great treasure! Quote:I won't commit to keeping the RunPlugin play workaround in place..... It's a logical argument. In my next versions I will use only the so-called PlayMedia. Just one more request, could you update this information on the wiki? As always, thank you very much for your answers and for your dedication to the Kodi universe. RE: YouTube - gregeeh - 2024-09-08 Hello Everyone, I have this add-on installed on CoreELEC 21.1 and it is working, however it takes an awful long time to start a video, like 40-50 secs. Is this expected behaviour and if not any suggestions? Got a log of the problem? It is not specific to this plugin, but unfortunately also not really documented elsewhere that I know of. No. On most devices that can run CE 21.1 I wouldn't expect it to take longer than 3-6 seconds wall-clock time depending on the options that are used. A debug log may provide useful information to determine what is going on. Amazingly, swapping my poor old router out did fix the issue! It also resolved some issues I was having with media on Facebook as well lol I'm frankly amazed RE: YouTube - HeresJohnny - 2024-09-14 Hello, when clicking on a video it doesn't play. Instead the menu pops up and there is no straightforward first item "play" but there is a ton of other items like "play with" "play with subtitles" "play (ask for quality)" "play auidio only". How can I fix that? RE: YouTube - brainwaster - 2024-09-15 Tonight when I do anything with the addon I get the error Yoitubr; Forbidden - ThevCaller Does Not Have Permission Anyone else getting this or knows how to fix it ? RE: YouTube - scott967 - 2024-09-15 (2024-09-15, 00:21)brainwaster Wrote: Tonight when I do anything with the addon I get the error Yes, getting this on a clean install of Kodi nightly, then installing plugin.video.youtube 7.0.9.2 from the Kodi repo. On first run I go into setup wizard, and the notification window pops up on "Configure Language and Region" when opening the select dialog for languages. Result is I'm stuck in the setup wizard as it keeps re-running. This is before attempting to enter any credentials. Here is the log: egiyuheruk.kodi (paste) Update: I hand edited my settings.xml to add my credentials and did a quick incognito search and played a video from the results and that worked. I never log in to youtube so can't comment on that aspect. I only search and play from results. scott s. . I don't see the content of any channel anymore, it's just empty and if i select a channel it says you do not have permission. <edit> it seems i can play some videos when i go to subscriptions. i'm not even logged in but it sees some video's and i still get the error but the video plays. It seems to be related to the search.. they i see no video's on the channels. RE: YouTube - malvinas2 - 2024-09-15 In the search menu of the Estuary skin, YouTube is called up using the command Code: ActivateWindow(videos,"plugin://plugin.video.youtube/kodion/search/list/",return) I tried: Code: ActivateWindow(videos,"plugin://plugin.video.youtube/kodion/search/",return) RE: YouTube - MoojMidge - 2024-09-15 (2024-09-14, 07:14)HeresJohnny Wrote: Hello, when clicking on a video it doesn't play. How can I fix that? You are opening the context menu for some reason. Would need to look at your remote or keyboard configuration to see why that is happening, it is not something that is controlled by the plugin. Pressing "P" is another way to play an item, while "Enter" will execute the configured Default select action in the Kodi settings. Here is the log I check the Kodi GUI settings for debug.showloginfo as a condition of writing the plugin settings to the log. Unfortunately when debug logging is enabled via the advancedsettings.xml this check doesn't work. Are you able to get another log with debug logging enabled via the GUI settings instead? The Setup Wizard should not keep prompting to be run. Once it has run at least once the plugin settings are updated so it should not prompt to run again, but if you are seeing this happen then a new debug log would help to see why the associated plugin settings may not be persistent. There were a few issues with addon settings not saving in some early pre-release versions of Kodi Omega, but those were resolved. Not sure if there has been some regression in Kodi Piers but don't have anything setup to test it yet. RE: YouTube - MoojMidge - 2024-09-16 For anyone getting a notification indicating "The caller does not have permission" that means you have not created your own API key. The inbuilt credentials have not been fully revoked and still work for some API requests, so this may be temporary, but when too many people (ab)use a shared resource then this is what can happen. Video playback is unaffected, but don't risk making this worse for everyone, please get your own API key if you are logging in, searching or browsing through the plugin, rather than just playing videos from known links i.e. playing trailers. Instructions for how to get your own API key are available here: https://github.com/anxdpanic/plugin.video.youtube/issues/439#issuecomment-1509319017 RE: YouTube - MoojMidge - 2024-09-16 (2024-09-15, 23:38)malvinas2 Wrote: How do I have to change the command so that the quick search of the YouTube add-on is opened? It is a little complicated because of how Kodi caches the content of directory listings. You can try the following, but you will probably find that it won't prompt for text input if you don't navigate to a new window after performing the quick search. Code: ActivateWindow(videos,"plugin://plugin.video.youtube/kodion/search/input/?refresh=true",return) I'll add a new endpoint that will bypass the Kodi caching in the next version of the plugin: Code: ActivateWindow(videos,"plugin://plugin.video.youtube/kodion/search/input_prompt",return) Can you confirm that it works using this test version? https://github.com/MoojMidge/plugin.video.youtube/archive/refs/heads/master.zip RE: YouTube - daddmac - 2024-09-16 Thank you MoojMidge! |
