Several of my movies have the following structure:
Movie.Name\CD1\moviename-cd1.rar ...
Movie.Name\CD2\moviename-cd2.rar ...
Movie.Name\Sample\sample-.avi

I'm sure you are all familiar with this, as this is what pretty much every multiple CD scene release out there is packed.
I'm having great troubles scanning this properly into Ember. Does anyone have any pointers on proper settings for this situation? Unless I scan recursively, multiple CD movies will not be detected, if I scan recursively, I will get one movie for each cd1/cd2 directory, I will get plenty of movies just called "CD1", "CD2", "Subs" and so on.
Any pointers on how to resolve this will be appreciated (unraring everything and not using CD1/CD2 subfolders is not an option, and XBMC supports this construct for stacking).
I guess what I am looking for is for Ember to just use the folder names, and don't bother with whats inside the folders, just accept that if there is a folder, there is a movie in there.

Well, 1. I'm not sure I agree with your claim that this is the standard packing method for the scene is true. Scene rules determine whether or not it is one CD or multiple CD, and rar sizes and etc, but they do not specifically say exactly how contents should be organised. I can't recall when the last time a Nuke or Repack occurred due to multiple-cd movies being put into the wrong folder structure...
And no 2. If you really wish to take advantage of all the other cool stuff like extrathumbs, then I suggest you re-organise to fit how XBMC does things. Here is my suggestion
Movie Name \ Movie Name.cd1.avi
Movie Name \ Movie Name.cd1.sub
Movie Name \ Movie Name.cd2.avi
Movie Name \ Movie Name.cd2.sub
Movie Name \ Movie Name.cd3.avi
Movie Name \ Movie Name.cd3.sub
Movie Name \ Movie Name.txt <- scene nfo renamed
Movie Name \ Movie Name-trailer.avi <- scene sample renamed (if you like)
Movie Name \ folder.jpg
Movie Name \ movie.tbn
Movie Name \ movie.nfo <- XBMC NFO
Movie Name \ fanart.jpg
Movie Name \ extrathumb \ ... <- thumbs
But it's just a suggestion... Anyway, I had to/have to re-organise(d) all my movie names and structures when I started using XBMC too, so my advice is, just bite the bullet..

I believe that Jason owns the web host account where embermm.com was hosted. DNS record for it is valid until 2011, but I guess Jason has simply not renewed or dropped the hosting account.
EDIT: Looks like Jason's company cube3studios is also offline as well.
How about Nuno or Bence, are they able to continue in some way? I'm sure there are many of us who will be willing to help out (myself included)..
In the mean time, if Jason (Nul7) is reading - all the best to you buddy, get better real soon..

I haven't wrote here that much, but i use EMM daily and haven't even thanked nul7 and the others who has helped develop EMM for their hard work in developing this awesome tool.
nul7, i don't know what kind of illness you have, but i wish you a quick recovery, and thank you very much for all your efforts in making EMM.

Jason - I'll be happy to work on it / staff it full-time by taking one of my developers off something else.
There is another angle to pursue, if you're interested.. I think it's fair to say that there could be a for-pay version (along with a freeware version) and that you should receive royalties for that.
In other words, I think many people here would prefer to PAY for Ember than to simply allow the project to die.

Love the app and I just started to incorporate the use of sets (ie Alien, Aliens, etc). It seems however the syntax that EMM uses for the .nfo files is not supported with the lastest SVN's. For example EMM will add this to the .nfo file
<sets>
<set order="9">James Bond Ultimate Set</set>
</sets>
The latest svns do not support the <sets> and </sets> tags and does not import the data. The only way is to delete the both those tags and just have
<set order="9">James Bond Ultimate Set</set>
for it to import correctly. Is there any work around or fix I can do within ember or would a new version have to be compiled?

Regarding the website, I sold cube3studios and its domains (in separate transactions, oddly). I still own embermm.com/net, it's just not hosted anymore.
As far as the code goes, anyone is free to use it as you wish with 2 caveats: it must remain open source and you have to give credit to Nuno, Bence, and myself. If anyone wants to take over the project officially, just PM me and we can work something out (and, no, I don't mean I want money for it).

i have a little question, i scanned my movies and in the library it all looks fine, the only thing is, can i change that it displays on the bottom left the german fsk logo and not the mpaa certification ? is it a setting in the ember tool or the xbmc ? using the aeon showmix ...
oh, and also in the info it shows under "FSK-Freigabe" the mpaa certification ...

I have been using ember in Windows 7 and now I get the following when I run it. I get this immediately:
CLR error: 80004005
The program will now terminate.
Any ideas? I tried reinstalling but no luck! Please help!
PS I booted up in XP mode and ran the same executables and it ran fine.

From a cursory Google search, it would seem this problem arises from conflicting .NET installations. If you have any version besides 3.5 (Windows 7 has this by default) you should probably uninstall it. If this is not the case, you might try Right-clicking --> Properties --> Compatibility and setting the compatibility mode to XP SP3
