New version is available that fixes this on the project site

Your are most generous and your donation is much appreciated. I plan to keep up with Ember as long as I can, its a tool I use as much as anyone else so its in my interests to keep it going just as much as the community Smile

Feedback Wanted - bodrick - 2012-01-05

One thing thats been bothering me with Ember and probably other media managers is the reliance on IMDB. The issue is that IMDB does not officially have an API to query the data.

There are other sources for data, notably Rotten Tomatoes seems to have a good api that seems to cover most bases for info that IMDB has. I'm contemplating moving to use a different api to get movie information.

I wanted to gather feedback to see if anyone feels strongly for or against this idea, I'm guessing I'll probably just add it as a separate scraper but it seems that some of the IMDB stuff is integral to Ember at the moment.
Thoughts and suggestions are more than welcome

TV Shows scraping - mauzzz - 2012-01-05

Thank you for continuing EMM!

I have a problem with scraping TV Shows (using 1.3.0.2). The scrape button is grayed out. I have been able to scrape the show and seasons by right clicking them. But I can't scrape episodes. Until now I have used EMM for movies only so I could oversee something very obvious.

For me its perfect like it is now.

Best feature is that I can get plot info and stuff from OFDB (german) but rating and other infos from imdb.

I second this.

What Ember does now:
I copy the new movie into my Movie Folder.
I click update Library.
Ember puts the file in a folder with the same name.
Then I click on Scrape Media -> new movies -> ask -> all.
Then I have the folder with the old file name with the movie (new file name) and the scraped files in it + a .nfo with the old file name.
Then I have to start the bulk renamer
Where I have to change "Folder Pattern (multiple movies)" (renaming folder to Title (Year) does only work with multi movies even if I have only 1 movie in a folder and I cant set default for it)
When I click rename I have the folder with everything in it like it should be but still the folder with the old title and the nfo.

So it would be really nice if you could implement a checkbox for "Sort files into folders after scraping" and a way to change the Folder Pattern "default" for multiple movie folders.

That would make scraping and sorting way easier you could just throw anything in your folder click one button and everything is scraped, renamed and in the right folder.

Not official in any shape and could easily be yanked at any time and when I tried today timed when doing a query.

Can you pleas explain to me how you handle your posters? I canĀ“t get it right.

I have tested poster.jpg and folder.jpg, this works fin in non-library mode but as soon as we enter library mode alot of the posters is blurry!? It seems to be random?

Just a note to say thanks for taking on the task. It is really appreciated and has made my metadata cleanup project *much* easier. Small donation sent!

Just tested with XP 32bit with .Net framework 3.5 installed, and it works fine. Thanks bodrick!
