In my experience i find Information better as it provides more info like show/movie ratings for Meta, TMDB, IMDB, Tomato etc along with other details like Crew, By Director, Recommendations, Similar, Trailers, Posters etc but it never loads the cast images (unless using the 'i' in the OSD during playback which brings up Information and loads cast images just fine).

on the other hand Openinfo always loads the cast images but also doesn't provide much details only Crew, Similar, Trailers and i think also
Posters.

I'd like to know if there is a way to get the cast images loading in Information from the context menu on a widget? which i think is the preferred solution as i feel there is a lot more missing from Openinfo (unless it's setup wrong for me) and would actually like to not have it show in the context menu since Information is better?

OpenInfo is an unofficial, unsupported fork of ExtendedInfo Script. This skin has recently changed away from EIS, in favor of jurialmunkey's own TMDb helper addon, and it is working much better at this point.

Cast and crew images are either scraped by the library scraper if your choice, or supplied by an add-on. If they're not showing, they're not available.
In that case it should be safe to disable Openinfo?

Context menu>Information is now pulling show/movie details from TMDB helper addon instead of EIS? Is that understanding right?

I’ve never had a problem with crew images, only cast and only with context menu>information.

Information via the ‘i’ in the osd loads cast images no problem.

If the cast images were unavailable then wouldn’t information via the ‘i’ in osd also not load any images?

With regards to AZ2, yes, it's safe to disable (or uninstall) OpenInfo, if you're not using it for anything else. All of AZ2's information dialogs are populated either by local metadata or TheMovieDb Helper, as far as I understand.

Do you have a Fanart.tv API key in script.module.metadatautils?
Yeah I do, but Aura skin usually just pulls fanart from PKC/Plex

Thanks, I've disabled OpenInfo.

I see, It's just weird that Cast images never display when accessed via Context Menu > Information. I wonder if it's my setup as i'm pretty sure it was the same way with Aura when i used that.

Cast images display just fine when accessed from the 'i' in the OSD.

RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - dr.joaomarcelo - 2019-08-20

I use Aura right now but i am following this amazing skin as well. From time to time i try this skin and there some small issues and i go back to aura.

The one that "breaks" the skin for me right now is that i use an intro movie/splash screen and after the movie plays the screen goes blank and i need to press back/esc/exit then it proceeds to go the home menu. In Aura it works fine.

Could you take a look at that?

thanks

"Information" only shows metadata/artwork that is either scraped by the library or provided by the source content. ExtendedInfo Script, OpenInfo and TheMovieDb Helper do lookups for their information, so they can often show more. That's pretty much what they're for, plugging gaps in the metadata provided.

@jurialmunkey, I've also noticed behavior like this after a skin update, followed by the skin needing rebuild the skin shortcuts. Is that normal?

EDIT: Not using a startup video though Big Grin

Works fine for me.

Exact steps to reproduce?
What is the widget and how did you set it?
What do you see instead of fanart?
Does the artwork show correctly using a landscape view in the library?

I can't reproduce this issue. Home screen loads correctly for me after a splash video.

What are the exact steps to recreate the issue?
Any clues about your setup or unusual things?
Are you using profiles?

Speak to the author of whatever add-on you are using as a widget. That add-on is not setting the cast images correctly.
If you use the kodi library db, you would see cast images.

The info button on the osd shows images because it looks up the info online using tmdb helper if the item isn't in the library.

Can you add an issue about this on the github page. I'll look into it when I get the chance.

Mist say this skin is very slick and prefer it over the old v1. Quick question I am using the Move Db help as widgets the in theatres including widgets. One thing that skin helper did was have a trailer button the movie sb helper does not have this when I press info. Is there any plans on cleaning up that side of things where if I push on the image or tittle of movie that it plays the trailer and if I push info it will bring up more information of the movie as it does now. Hop Le you understand what I mean.

Thanks.

I'm working on adding trailers to TMDb helper. It is still a work in progress Wink

The landscape fanart shows fine when using the library. So that means my method of displaying it is not currently working. And that is "In progress Episodes" widget.

Yes there was.
I removed label overlays from large landscape widgets as I didn't like them.
Use small landscape widgets for labels.

I just pushed a release which will add duration for youtube widgets to small landscape:

Any particular reason you didn't add duration for general content, and only for YouTube?
