This may have been asked before but would it be possible to include a way for the OSD to disappear when paused?
Sometimes I want to take a photo of the screen and don't want the OSD in the way.

@jurialmunkey Any thoughts on this? Basically a similar setting to the auto close OSD that can be settable in secs would be great.

If there is some other way to do this please let me know? I looked on Google and couldn't seem to find a solution. The only thing that came up was someone removed the OSD altogether which is not ideal as it is useful.

Thanks
I've tried doing this in the past with other skins, but there isn't really a way to do it that doesn't cause other problems.
Ok that's a shame, thank you for getting back to me though. Smile

I don't hate it. Honestly speaking, this Skin is way better than YouTube. But removing Stop and Skip Forward/Backward buttons, just like youtube did, can help simplify the Platback User Interface a lot! We can Press Back to Stop and Press Left/Right to Skip Forward/Backward.
Not if you're using a mouse...
Ohh, I see.

But can I apply it for myself? I just changed the stop action using Keymap Editor.
Now, I want to know if I can remove them.

Sure, you can. All skins can be edited with a simple text editor.

Speaking of OSD controls, have you given any thought to how you'd like to support Up Next? I was considering making a PR with support, but I didn't want to go too crazy if you already had ideas.

RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - nahom7wos - 2019-08-28

Got one more question.

I have made the Default Select Action to Show Information. It works perfect for movies, problem is when I open a certain Tv Show it prompts me to Browse but after getting in there clicking back takes me to Titles then to a list of Genre, Year, Titles, etc. I doesn't take me back to the Information with the Browse button that I first started with.

Show parent folder items is disabled.

RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - millercentral - 2019-08-28

Hi, I'm new to this skin (which is amazing), and still learning, but I noticed one odd thing that I thought I would report. I launched the "Plex for Kodi" add in and it worked fine, but I noticed that when I exited the plug in and returned to Kodi running Artic Zephyr 2 and then played a video, the Video Player OSD controls were still skinned with the Plex For Kodi skin elements instead of the AZ2 skin. Didn't have a negative functional effect, and I very rarely use this plug in so it doesn't really effect me, but I thought I would report it in case it is an issue for others.

Thanks for all the work on this fantastic skin!

Sounds like a kodi problem not a skin problem.

Does this happen in Estuary also? If it does then its not a skin issue...

RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - MrOns - 2019-08-28

Another fantastic skin, Jurialmunkey! I thought I'd not be able to try it out with DSplayer no longer updating, but I'm using the Matrix HDR build and it seems to be working a treat.

Is there going to be any Advanced Emulator Launcher support with this skin? I was very happy with the selection of views in Aura, and even managed to alter one to fit Steam banners (although this did also alter all the landscape showcase images for my TV episodes...), but we're stuck with List and Wall for now. Any chance of a view to fit Steam grid (920x430) images?

Thanks again!

RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - Sjors125 - 2019-08-29

@MrOns I never used other builds (other than Libre/Open/CoreElec). What is the usecase of DSplayer or Matrix HDR?

RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - MrOns - 2019-08-29

@Sjors125  - The main branch of Kodi doesn't yet allow for HDR passthrough. As I understand it, DSplayer allowed Kodi to use the MadVR renderer, which allowed for passthrough, but is no longer being updated.

I stumbled across the Matrix HDR thread the other day, and this adds HDR support into the Matrix (Kodi 19) with, so far, only Nvidia GPUs. Given that I use my PC mainly as a HTPC, this is very handy. It only passes through the HDR signal when Kodi recognises the metadata in the file shows that it is, kicks my TV into HDR mode, and then drops it back out of HDR when I go back to the menu. Most use cases won't need to use another fork of Kodi, but until the main build supports HDR passthrough, this is by far the easiest way I've found to get my HDR rips up on screen and looking reasonable.

RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - homelessbrian - 2019-08-29

If I set YouTube or twitch to show my subscriptions on the home screen in the background widget it shows the channel art / logo. Is there a way to get it to show the video thumb instead?

When you choose "Browse" from the dialog, you're taken to TheMovieDb Helper's section for the show.

RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - mardup - 2019-08-29

Hello
excuse me if the question has been asked before, but i didn't find the answer in the 178 pages ...

The "recently added movie" widget , displays 1 row with posters and the plot of selected moviie.
Is it possible to hide and/or replace the plot by something else of the movie, like fanart for exemple.

Thanks, and sorry again if the question has been asked before
