RE: Copacetic: A new skin from QuizKid and Hitcher - Hitcher - 2021-12-20 Nice work QuizKid. Bet you never thought all those years ago it would take so long. RE: Copacetic: A new skin from QuizKid and Hitcher - realcopacetic - 2021-12-20 Thanks @Hitcher. Haha 2 kids, 2 redundancies and 4 jobs later ... RE: Copacetic: A new skin from QuizKid and Hitcher - Nipius - 2021-12-24 Really liking the simplicity of this skin! Thanks for all the efforts I do have one question though and perhaps I'm just not seeing it properly But is there a way to lock the view? I have quite some movie sets and I'd prefer to use a different view for these than I use for the full movie list. To clarify, I use the Grid view when scrolling to my movies. When I then click one of the movie sets, I'd prefer the List view. Ideally, I don't want to select each movie set and change it one-by-one. Is this possible? Many thanks for the response and thanks for all the great work you've done so far. Enjoy the holidays! RE: Copacetic: A new skin from QuizKid and Hitcher - loc4lhost - 2021-12-31 I just installed the skin and dude.... I am in Love so bad Sadly I have to wait until PVR is done, but so far best looking skin I have seen so far - props on this one! I'm not sure how it works actually. I belive that usually after I change one or two to a new view, Kodi applies it as the default for that container type (e.g. movies or sets), but I'm not sure of the specific behaviour. I think I can probably have a lock option for each container type in the settings by effectively disabling all the other views for e.g. movies or sets. I'll have a think about how difficult this will be to do. I am in Love so bad Thanks, wait till you see Aeon 2! I'll probably stop using this and switch to that once it's available. Hmmm honestly PVR is pretty low on the list just because I don't use it or have a setup where I can really see it. I might need to find a collaborator to pull that off RE: Copacetic: A new skin from QuizKid and Hitcher - realcopacetic - 2022-01-13 Here's a brief update, showing customisable home widgets (populated with Embuary helper as I was already using that for the calculations on the tv/season progress bars - big thanks to @sualfred). It also shows some of the new settings dialogs, and another look at the embedded music player and embedded secondary lists for scrolling movies within a set view, seasons within a tv show view and albums within an artist view. Usually widgets follow some sort of a grid partern, but I wanted to reuse my existing views as much as possible. I know some people will find this too sparse or that there is not enough visual information on the screen as it only shows 1-2 items at a time instead of 5 rows of 10 items. But the aim has always been to put the emphasis on the artwork and that means making it big. RE: Copacetic: A new skin from QuizKid and Hitcher - CanBert - 2022-01-15 Maybe it's me, when I try to say use TMDBHelper and look at in theater (or anywhere) I just get black screen. Kodi 19. Works fine for library. RE: Copacetic: A new skin from QuizKid and Hitcher - realcopacetic - 2022-01-15 I haven't added any skin support for TMDB Helper, so I assume that's why, RE: Copacetic: A new skin from QuizKid and Hitcher - CanBert - 2022-01-16 Just wondering, thought it was me...lol RE: Copacetic: A new skin from QuizKid and Hitcher - mame09 - 2022-01-19 First things first, thanks a lot for your hard work on the skin. I have a question regarding the secondary lists. Could it be, that disabling them in the settings actually does not deactivate the "prefetching" of the next view? While this may not be an issue for local libraries, it does create an extensive amount traffic on network services. Thus, could you please add a possibility that completely disables the prefetching? Thanks RE: Copacetic: A new skin from QuizKid and Hitcher - realcopacetic - 2022-01-19 (2022-01-19, 00:52)mame09 Wrote: First things first, thanks a lot for your hard work on the skin.up until a couple of days ago, the skin setting option to disable the secondary lists wasn't actually doing anything as I had forgot to actually add in the condition. If you update to the current version here, it should be working correctly when disabled: https://github.com/realcopacetic/skin.copacetic Regarding the prefetching, line 39 of is currently set as:
Row 112 contains:
Does setting preloaditems to 0 and/or removing background="true" fix the issue without entirely disabling the secondary lists? RE: Copacetic: A new skin from QuizKid and Hitcher - mame09 - 2022-01-19 Hello QuizKid, Thanks for the fast response. Unfortunately, setting "<preloaditems>2</preloaditems>" to "0" did not help, as well as removing "background=True" or the whole "<texture background="true">$VAR[Thumbnail(0)Content]</texture>" statement from said file. I have the impression that whenever a ListItem is focused, it automatically loads the directory associated with it in background. Thus, this also happens in views, that do not contain any secondary lists by nature, such as the "simple list". Even removing '<include file="Includes_Secondary_List.xml"/>' from "Includes.xml" did not help ~ So I am not sure, if that's the right place we need to investigate. I'll be providing you with a dummy addon in the next few days. Maybe it could help finding the culprit faster Many thanks again RE: Copacetic: A new skin from QuizKid and Hitcher - Zazamastro - 2022-01-19 Thanks for your work QuizKid! This is actually the best skin available for Kodi right now. RE: Copacetic: A new skin from QuizKid and Hitcher - mame09 - 2022-01-19 Okay, I could create the addon in a way shorter time Here is the link to it https://file.io/m4WuGjHqFteH It creates a log file of the visited file paths in "userdata/addon_data/plugin.mame09.dummyskinbreaker". Here is one of my logs, attached below:
As you can see, the prefetching did not kick in at all times. In particular, it did not do any prefetching whenever I scrolled very fast (could be also a race condition concerning the access to the log file). Anyways, if it does kick in, the underlying view/directory is triggered twice. This would match with "<preloaditems>2</preloaditems>". So I also tried setting all instances of "<preloaditems>2</preloaditems>" to "<preloaditems>0</preloaditems>" and "<preloaditems>8</preloaditems>" in all files However, it resulted in the same behavior. |
