The fluctuating refresh rate is normal, at least on every installation I've done. It sounds like your tv model isn't being detected that would explain the missing resolution and whitelist settings since it most likely only shows resolutions it thinks your monitor can display. Look at setting SYSTEM>DISPLAY>MONITOR and see if your tv model is detected. If it set to default select it and it should show your tv model. This gives you clue to what's going on. I don't know how to fix it but at least you know if that's the problem.
Well I think this might be the correct explanation. Unfortunately there is no Monitor entry/information in System/Monitor/Display but that could be a specific Android thing. I've also checked this with the Estuary skin enabled.
@MB1968
If that setting is greyed out go to PLAYBACK>VIDEO and at the bottom RESET ABOVE SETTINGS TO DEFAULT. Then go back to SYSTEM>DISPLAY> and at the bottom RESET ABOVE SETTINGS TO DEFAULT. If prompted accept new settings. This may make the SYSTEM>DISPLAY>MONITOR setting selectable.

RE: Aeon MQ 9 Mod for Kodi 21 (Omega) - MB1968 - 2024-02-15

It is not greyed out. There's no Monitor entry at all. Below you'll see 2 screenshots with all Display settings. (Screenshot is parly overlapping screenshot 1)

EDIT: I've just checked the window Settings/Display on Windows. In Windows I can see the Monitor entry and other settings that are missing on my Android box.

RE: Aeon MQ 9 Mod for Kodi 21 (Omega) - andrzejls - 2024-02-15

@MB1968 What do you see when you click on "RESOLUTION" ? You should see "RESOLUTION" pop-up displaying available resolutions. On my Kodi that pop-up presents me with 4 choices 720x480P, 1280x720P, 3840x2160P and 1920x1080P in that exact sequence.

Only 1920x1080P

Next week I'll buy a new HDMI 2.1 cable. That is worth a try. I think this issue is caused due to a combination of my TV (Finlux) , Android and Kodi version.

I've used CoreELEC (Kodi on a Linux based OS) in the past and I remember I was able to whitelist more resolutions.

RE: Aeon MQ 9 Mod for Kodi 21 (Omega) - andrzejls - 2024-02-15

@MB1968 Well, for whatever reason your TV is seen by Kodi as 1920 x 1080 resolution device.

RE: Aeon MQ 9 Mod for Kodi 21 (Omega) - MB1968 - 2024-02-15

Correct. I just bought a new 2.1 HDMI cable. I don't have high expectations this will solve the issue, but for €11,- it's worth a try.

UPDATE #11 - This will update the skin to v1.1.2

Image Additions
  • I added code to the MQ 8 Video Info screen to use ListItem.Country (like the media flag code) first, and then use Skin Helper to display the flag if ListItem.Country is missing.
  • I added code to the KodiFlix and KodiFlixTV views to match the rest of the views and display either clearart or clearlogo based on your skin settings. I also changed the "SHOW LOGO" button in the Top Menu to now display as "SHOW CLEARART/CLEARLOGO AS TITLE".
  • I added code to the Video OSD to display the title/artwork and tagline/episode info. There is a new Top Menu item under "ORGANIZE" named "FULLSCREEN TOP ART". I also changed the label from "LOGO" to "ARTWORK" for "SHOW TITLE ON TOP AS:". Thanks to daniko for the request!
  • I added a button named "SHOW DISCART IN MEDIA INFO" in the OSD MENU for the player controls. This controls the discart that slides down from the top of the screen if you have "MEDIA INFO IN OSD MENU" enabled. Thanks to daniko for the request!

Image Bug fixes
  • The clearart/clearlogo was not displaying for Episodes in some views. Thanks to andrzejls for reporting the bug!
  • The grab fanart background and title were not displaying for video playlists. Thanks to woggs for reporting the bug!

ImageMaintenance
  • The scrollbar for the left window in File Manager is now located on the left edge of the screen. Thanks to MB1968 for the change!
  • I reduced the pointer size dimensions from 96 to 42. Thanks to Juan Mortyme for the suggestion!

Also, I just noticed that Omega Beta 3 pre-release is now available.

@latts9923 In 1.1.1 all was fixed Tv show Season was showing "clearogo" and "Episodes" would show "clearart". Now with 1.1.2 Tv shows Season shows "clearart" and "Episodes" shows nothing. What settings do I need to change to get "clearlogo" in Seasons and "clearart" in "Episodes" ?

Comment:
Actualy in 1.1.2 "clearlogo" is NOT shown in any view type, only "clearart"

RE: Aeon MQ 9 Mod for Kodi 21 (Omega) - latts9923 - 2024-02-17

@andrzejls
Dang it! I made so many changes trying to get artwork to show for Seasons in video add-ons that I forgot to go back to what was working. Use this for the variable...
xml:
<variable name="media_art">
<value condition="Window.IsActive(programs)">$INFO[ListItem.Art(clearlogo)]</value>
<value condition="[Window.IsActive(videos) | Window.IsActive(movieinformation)] + [Container.Content(seasons) | Container.Content(episodes)] + String.IsEmpty(ListItem.Art(tvshow.clearart1)) + !Skin.HasSetting(prefer_video_clearart_off)">$INFO[ListItem.Art(tvshow.clearart)]</value>
<value condition="[Window.IsActive(videos) | Window.IsActive(movieinformation)] + ![Container.Content(seasons) | Container.Content(episodes)] + String.IsEmpty(ListItem.Art(clearart1)) + !Skin.HasSetting(prefer_video_clearart_off)">$INFO[ListItem.Art(clearart)]</value>
<value condition="[Window.IsActive(videos) | Window.IsActive(movieinformation)] + String.IsEmpty(ListItem.Art(clearart)) + String.IsEmpty(ListItem.Art(tvshow.clearart)) + !String.IsEmpty(Window(home).Property(SkinHelper.ListItem.Art.ClearArt)) + !Skin.HasSetting(prefer_video_clearart_off)">$INFO[Window(home).Property(SkinHelper.ListItem.Art.ClearArt)]</value>
<value condition="[Window.IsActive(videos) | Window.IsActive(movieinformation)] + [Container.Content(seasons) | Container.Content(episodes)] + String.IsEmpty(ListItem.Art(tvshow.clearlogo1)) + Skin.HasSetting(prefer_video_clearart_off)">$INFO[ListItem.Art(tvshow.clearlogo)]</value>
<value condition="[Window.IsActive(videos) | Window.IsActive(movieinformation)] + ![Container.Content(seasons) | Container.Content(episodes)] + String.IsEmpty(ListItem.Art(clearlogo1)) + Skin.HasSetting(prefer_video_clearart_off)">$INFO[ListItem.Art(clearlogo)]</value>
<value condition="[Window.IsActive(videos) | Window.IsActive(movieinformation)] + String.IsEmpty(ListItem.Art(clearlogo)) + String.IsEmpty(ListItem.Art(tvshow.clearlogo)) + Skin.HasSetting(prefer_video_clearart_off) + !String.IsEmpty(Window(home).Property(SkinHelper.ListItem.Art.ClearLogo))">$INFO[Window(home).Property(SkinHelper.ListItem.Art.ClearLogo)]</value>
<value condition="[Window.IsActive(music) | Window.IsActive(musicinformation)] + ![Container.Content(albums) | Container.Content(songs)] + String.IsEmpty(ListItem.Art(clearart1)) + !Skin.HasSetting(prefer_music_clearart_off)">$INFO[ListItem.Art(clearart)]</value>
<value condition="[Window.IsActive(music) | Window.IsActive(musicinformation)] + String.IsEmpty(ListItem.Art(artist.clearart1)) + !Skin.HasSetting(prefer_music_clearart_off)">$INFO[ListItem.Art(artist.clearart)]</value>
<value condition="[Window.IsActive(music) | Window.IsActive(musicinformation)] + ![Container.Content(albums) | Container.Content(songs)] + String.IsEmpty(ListItem.Art(clearart)) + !String.IsEmpty(Window(home).Property(SkinHelper.ListItem.Art.ClearArt)) + !Skin.HasSetting(prefer_music_clearart_off)">$INFO[Window(home).Property(SkinHelper.ListItem.Art.ClearArt)]</value>
<value condition="[Window.IsActive(music) | Window.IsActive(musicinformation)] + ![Container.Content(albums) | Container.Content(songs)] + String.IsEmpty(ListItem.Art(clearlogo1)) + Skin.HasSetting(prefer_music_clearart_off)">$INFO[ListItem.Art(clearlogo)]</value>
<value condition="[Window.IsActive(music) | Window.IsActive(musicinformation)] + String.IsEmpty(ListItem.Art(artist.clearlogo1)) + Skin.HasSetting(prefer_music_clearart_off)">$INFO[ListItem.Art(artist.clearlogo)]</value>
<value condition="[Window.IsActive(music) | Window.IsActive(musicinformation)] + ![Container.Content(albums) | Container.Content(songs)] + String.IsEmpty(ListItem.Art(clearlogo)) + !String.IsEmpty(Window(home).Property(SkinHelper.ListItem.Art.ClearLogo)) + Skin.HasSetting(prefer_music_clearart_off)">$INFO[Window(home).Property(SkinHelper.ListItem.Art.ClearLogo)]</value>
<value condition="[Window.IsActive(music) | Window.IsActive(musicinformation)] + String.IsEmpty(ListItem.Art(artist.clearlogo)) + !String.IsEmpty(Window(home).Property(SkinHelper.ListItem.Art.ClearLogo)) + Skin.HasSetting(prefer_music_clearart_off)">$INFO[Window(home).Property(SkinHelper.ListItem.Art.ClearLogo)]</value>
</variable>

I can get the clearart/clearlogo to show for Seasons and Episodes in video add-ons, but I end up breaking it for local content...I'm still working on it.

RE: Aeon MQ 9 Mod for Kodi 21 (Omega) - andrzejls - 2024-02-17

@latts9923 Thanks. This version brings back "clearart" to be shown in "Episodes" but "Seasons" still showing "clearart" instead of "clearlogo". As for Video add-ons I think that it could be a less of the issue as the "local".

RE: Aeon MQ 9 Mod for Kodi 21 (Omega) - latts9923 - 2024-02-17

@andrzejls
You're welcome!

Your Seasons and Episodes will display the same artwork depending on what your preference is in SKIN SETTINGS 🢡 CONTEXTUAL ART. I could look at making individual controls for each area (Movies, TV Shows, Seasons, Episodes).

@"latts923" thanks for quick reply. I found the SKIN SETTINGS 🢡 CONTEXTUAL ART, but when I changed to "clearlogo" both Seasons and Episodes show "clearlogo". In mod 1.1.1 you were able to show "clearlogo" in Seasons and "cleartart" in episodes.

Update!

"    <variable name="media_art">
    <value condition="Window.IsActive(programs)">$INFO[ListItem.Art(clearlogo)]</value>
    <value condition="[Window.IsActive(videos) | Window.IsActive(movieinformation)] + !Container.Content(seasons) | Container.Content(episodes) + String.IsEmpty(ListItem.Art(tvshow.clearart1)) + !Skin.HasSetting(prefer_video_clearart_off)">$INFO[ListItem.Art(tvshow.clearart)]</value>"

Removed brackets from start and the end of highlighted section and added "!". That seem to give me "clearart" in Episodes. Please advise if this modification would adversly impact some other parts of the skin.

RE: Aeon MQ 9 Mod for Kodi 21 (Omega) - andrzejls - 2024-02-17

@latts9923 I am just looking on "Music" and it seems that "clearart" is not showing in any view.

RE: Aeon MQ 9 Mod for Kodi 21 (Omega) - latts9923 - 2024-02-17

@andrzejls

That change you made now says to display clearart for only Episodes if the TV Show is missing the image clearart1. You won't see anything for Seasons.

I will create individual clearart/clearlogo controls for Movies, TV Shows, Seasons and Episodes in "CONTEXTUAL ART"...can't hurt to add a little more customization.

Also, I think I just figured out the missing artwork for video add-ons. Try this for me if you would. Open View01-50.xml. Not far down from the top you will see "$VAR[media_art]". Above that control add this...
xml:
<control type="image">
<left>3200</left>
<top>1415</top>
<width>498</width>
<height>240</height>
<fadetime>common_fade_time</fadetime>
<aspectratio align="center" aligny="bottom">keep</aspectratio>
<texture background="true">$VAR[media_art_addon]</texture>
<include>animation_fade</include>
<visible>!Skin.HasSetting(view_50_art_off) + Window.IsActive(videos,addons)</visible>
</control>

Now open Variables.xml and below the "media_art" variable add this...
xml:
<variable name="media_art_addon">
<value condition="[Container.Content(seasons) | Container.Content(episodes)] + !Skin.HasSetting(prefer_video_clearart_off)">$INFO[ListItem.Art(clearart)]</value>
<value condition="[Container.Content(seasons) | Container.Content(episodes)] + Skin.HasSetting(prefer_video_clearart_off)">$INFO[ListItem.Art(clearlogo)]</value>
</variable>

Now see if you have artwork for Seasons and Episodes in video add-ons.

Crap...yep, I found the problem with the music artwork in some views. What fun coding is...change something in one spot and it affects things in 10 other places. Haha.

@latts9923, thanks for the update!
