Do we think the USB port at the back will be powerful enough to connect a standard 2.5" hard drive?

It runs FireOS, the same OS as the Kindle Fires, which is built on Android.

A faster Roku, but that's built on Android. Thus, the possibility of running XBMC (as long as it allows installation from unknown sources).

Yeah, the Android part makes it interesting. But does anyone know if it's locked down? And even then, is it really much better than an Ouya? It sounds fast, but it seems like people like the performance of the Ouya too.

I agree. The thing that stands out is Plex is making its way onto consumer products that XBMC isn't on. While you do have to pay for apps and some sort of pass you have a lot of options with Plex.

Seems pretty exciting to me. I'd think a device like this could have the potential to become the new obvious choice for an off the shelf, inexpensive XBMC box.
