Can't help you get the UPnP working but we don't have anyone actively working on UPnP at the moment so any bugs are likely to remain unfixed, that is unless someone from the user community takes an interest in fixing it. If your UPnP server is on a PC, why don't you setup either NFS or SMB file sharing?

Sorry for such a late reply. Yes I tried it via SMB and it works, but not equal. The beauty of my UPNP Server is that it was able to pre process the picture on the fly, to best fit the TV screen for example or add a tag mentioning place and date of the picture. And without fiddling withe the original picture of course.
So not just pushing the file.

As already mentioned I worked around it but pre creating TV formated copies of all my pictures, it works but really brute force.

And anyway that would be good to have the UPNP client fully fonctional one day 😉
