RE: Kodi v21 "Omega" Beta 2 Released - mhaaland - 2023-12-15

I installed Beta 2 on a Firestick and had bad buffering issues on 4K files not seen on Beta 1 so I reverted back.  After a little research I found out that Cache/Buffer/Chunk settings are now built in the Menu-Service sections.  Advanced settings are now ignored.  FYI if anyone else runs into this.

Amazing! So excited for Omega on my Xbox Series X specifically because of HDR display switching finally!! No more using tonemapping and watching all my lovely hdr content in sdr!

Is Dolby Vision included in this? Or possible in the future?

The forum language is English only please.

Use of Google Translate or similar is acceptable if needed, but please try and avoid Tapatalk and other such apps as they tend to scatter the font tags everywhere...

Quote:Well, late, I installed Beta2 Kodi Omega on these two devices:

1.- computer: works perfectly all the time
2.- Mobile Android version 10: everything works, except Inputstream Adaptive, I do not recommend installing any version below the official page: https://githubcom/xbmc/inputstream.adaptive

Can you tell me which version is correct for the app?

thanks

RE: Kodi v21 "Omega" Beta 2 Released - goAMinD - 2024-02-01

Hi,
I have been struggling with sudden buffering during playback. Started in January. No changes made to settings. Running Kodi 20.3 on Nvidia shield. Is this a known bug maybe that will be fixed i v.21?

I tried a factory reset and setting all up again. No luck. Any suggestions?

Kindly
Carsten

Is it possible to test this on an Xbox Series X? For some reason my regular Nexus Kodi app just got borked after not using it for a while there (doesn't open) and would really like to finally test HDR as it was the only thing preventing me from moving away from the Plex app!

Hello all,
I am using Firestick 4K Max gen 2 and latest Kodi 21 nightly build (downloaded early March 2024). I am facing an issue playing Dolby Vision movies (all mkv), some of them are showing DV but some just show black screen with voice. What Kodi version could solve this problem?

Luckily Kodi has a solution for this. In "Settings -> Player -> Video -> Supported dynamic hdr formats" you need to unselect HDR10+.
You need Kodi v21 for this.

Thank you Hitcher. Let me try that

So I tried the little version update from the most recent version of the skin. It seem to work at first, and then I started installing the add-ons, mainly the helper service soon as I did that it kept going into this mode of looping and basically opening up a new instance, kept doing it over and over and over again. So I'm not exactly sure what happened, but until that skin is updated and tested, I'm not going to debug this anymore. Have to remove the repo and the skin and go into the Settings file and making sure it's not calling that skin anymore.

I think you've posted this in the wrong thread.
