RE: Mimic 2.x for Isengard - Sn00p - 2015-07-26 Thanks a lot braz for your quick answer ! Glad to know that you already took into account points #1 and #2 ! :-) Thanks too for the tip concerning the DialogVideoInfo.xml customization (i'm a little bit ashamed... it was not too complicated, i could have found it by myself if i took the time to have a look :-) ). It works like a charm ! (finally, i decided to get the "Play Trailer" button back, but to keep your new "Youtube" button which is fine and usefull for most movies... i chose to hide the "Get Thumb" button instead, which i never use...). Aha! Not a big deal, at any rate. Are there any libraries that might be missing on Android that would cause problems with it, but not other builds? RE: Mimic 2.x for Isengard - thewarm - 2015-07-26 Braz, thank you for the 'slide' view with plot. You put it everywhere except the TV Episode view, which is what I was looking for. In ReFocus, the TV episode view uses the episode thumbnail and the plot description. Very easy to see from across the room. PS - went back to 2.20 because 'sub-menu settings' control is missing! RE: Mimic 2.x for Isengard - Fist - 2015-07-26 Braz, great to see Mimic has been updated on the official repo now. For the record, I notice I'm not the only one who's reported the Toolbox Script error with Mimic. Although this ticket's has been closed it doesn't appear to be solved. I followed the advice here: http://trac.kodi.tv/ticket/16092 I cleared out all trace of Kodi, SPMC and other XBMC builds from my AFTV, and reinstalled clean with no config, other than Mimic straight from the repo. Unfortunately, I still get the script error as I previously reported. Trac won't let me log in with my current ID, I don't know why, so I can't log it as a bug. Here is my log: http://xbmclogs.com/pmtapehsm Again, the issue seems to be with script.module.pil Thanks RE: Mimic 2.x for Isengard - wickemu - 2015-07-26 This is a fantastic skin, my favorite that I've used yet. I'm a happy switcher from Aeon Nox 5, and it's even better now that I'm running the stable version of Isengard and taken advantage of the many excellent features and skins you've added. There are a ton of updates with the upgrade, and there's one change that I'm not fond of. To me, the home screen now feels... sluggish. Pressing left and right between the main menu options leads to a much slower animation than was there before, and to me it makes the menu feel less responsive. Do you think you could consider adding a "faster animation" option, or if it's not too complicated, could you tell me how to edit the XML file to do the change myself? (this is using the bottom home menu) I'm also bummed about the Wall mode now having padding between every poster now but that's more of a minor gripe. It could be nice to add an option to have padding or no padding though, if that isn't too difficult. I'm using the official repository version and not the git one - is the git a static add-on or a is there a beta repository that I can switch to? Otherwise, how long does it usually take for git changes to be reflected in the official repository? The changes I listed above happened automatically for me just two or so days ago. I'd love to have the latest features immediately since i'm now keeping a close eye on the updates, but it would be too inconvenient to manually update it every time a change is made. Thanks for considering what to say, and thanks for making the best Kodi skin yet! (The Kodi team really ought to consider making this the new default, confluence seems ancient by comparison) RE: Mimic 2.x for Isengard - braz - 2015-07-26 (2015-07-26, 16:00)thewarm Wrote: Braz, thank you for the 'slide' view with plot. The only Android device I have is my Nexus 6 phone, and the latest Kodi + Mimic works fine on it. (2015-07-26, 16:37)wickemu Wrote: This is a fantastic skin, my favorite that I've used yet. The main menu is in Includes_Menus.xml, look for MainMenuListContent. Not planning any changes to Wall view. The way focused items are now selected necessitated the padding. I update github quite often, but don't submit the changes to the official repo more than once or twice a month. If you want to make it easy to stay up to date, setup a git client and clone the Mimic repo. Thanks! RE: Mimic 2.x for Isengard - Arogantis - 2015-07-26 I too am finding the new main menu to be a bit sluggish on my google nexus player. I just pushed an update to github that replaces the 3-item main menu with the 5-item one from the Top Menu layout. Please let me know what you think and if this performs better. If you want to test without updating from github, just go into skin settings and try out the Top Menu layout. Thanks! I can add it back, I'll just have to double the main menu code due to the <focusposition> tag that's needed for the 3-item one. I haven't tried it yet... shall load it up ASAP... was more surprised that you may be doing away with the 3 lol! I'd be sad to loose it... I have mimic running on a few different setups around the house. I like the 3 menus for my main TV as its further away from the couch... haven't tried the 5 yet but I'm guessing it's a smaller font as per the 5 top... 5 bottom would however be a welcome addition for my closer to TV setups where I can read all the menus clearly. shall download now and report back on the 5. thanks! RE: Mimic 2.x for Isengard - braz - 2015-07-26 Or just try the Top Menu layout, looks just like that. I like it and have it running on 2setups in the house but would prefer to see 5 at the bottom as I feel it's unnatural to press up to move down to the widgets. just my opinion 😀 RE: Mimic 2.x for Isengard - braz - 2015-07-26 (2015-07-26, 20:08)stueeey Wrote:Well now you can because the default menu has the same 5 items.(2015-07-26, 20:05)braz Wrote: Or just try the Top Menu layout, looks just like that. RE: Mimic 2.x for Isengard - Fist - 2015-07-26 Odd, the reason I love Mimic is it gives me a fantastic customized side menu with 8 items! Not a fan of crowding the screen with fanart and widgets but I get that many of you do. |
