Great to see the option to display your choice of studio/country/language tags has been implemented. Just a heads up...my preference is to only display studios, but the text is being cut off prematurely as a result.

RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - Adammay20 - 2019-11-04

Hi again Jurial,

Thanks for your previous response you had to my questions. I have came across a few more I wanted to ask!

1. On the very first page of this post/forum, (Your introduction) Where it says "Recently added & Recently played" how did you make it to be a dark grey colour? Mine is a light grey by default and when I hover it, it goes dark grey. I would like it to be dark grey like yours all the time.

2. I have a widget on my movies panel that shows "Trending movies" I set the aspect/view to landscape I believe. How do I get the logos of the movie on the images/landscape thumbnails? I have seen people screenshot it before on here – but I wasn't sure how to get it.

3. When I hover a movie/tv show, how do I get the codex info to show up in the bottom right hand corner? I know it shows if you view "Information" on the movie, but I have seen someone else that has posted with it showing up in the bottom corner when they are hovering a movie for example.

4. This might not be possible because I'm on a shield, but....Is their a quicker way to view the "Information" on a tv show/movie. Cause right now – I hover the film and hold the centre button on my remote for like 2 seconds and scroll down and click information. Can we click like a directional button or something to view the information on the film?

Thank you for your time answering my questions!

1. Which part are you referring to? If you mean the light vs. dark themes, they can be changed from
Code:
Settings -> Interface Settings -> Skin -> Colours
2. As long as your content has clearlogos, they should show up. If you want landscape (moviethumb and tvthumb on Fanart.tv) artwork instead of fanart, you can turn that in skin-wide from
Code:
Settings -> Skin Settings -> Library -> Landscape art
3. That one is at
Code:
Settings -> Skin Settings -> Furniture -> Codec flags
4. No, unfortunately. In PC versions, the default key is 'I', so if you could map that to a button it would work, though. Problem is, for you, myself, and many others, that while many third-party remotes have either programmable buttons or a dedicated info button, the Shield remote doesn't have any mappable buttons at all. Luckily the new Shield does have quite a few more buttons on its remote, so it's possible that may improve this experience for Shield users into the future.

Regarding 1, 2, and 3, just take a look in the settings. There's all kinds of neat stuff in there Wink

Weird, I already had landscape art checked off and the codex flags and both aren’t there.

RE: Arctic: Zephyr 2 - NinjaMonkeyUK - 2019-11-05

Sorry, I should have explained.

My home menu is set to "Basic" and my background widget is a playlist of TV shows (when TV shows menu option is highlighted).

If I press "up" from the main menu, I can then manually move "left" and "right" to navigate between items in the background playlist.  If I then press "OK" to select a show, the dark grey area animates to shift up and fill the screen before switching into the TV show's episode list.  It is at this point that the second screenshot happens. I think it is moving a fixed height overlay up towards the top of the screen, when it should stretch to fill the screen instead (or at least the fixed height overlay should be the height of the screen).

Does that make sense?

Give @jurialmunkey a chance! He's working on AZ2 for the current version of Kodi, i.e. version 18.  Kodi 19 is still in development.

Could you try playing one of the items that doesn't display codecs? And then return to the menu and hover it again? Does codecs show up? I don't get any codecs on streaming content like Twitch since the stream isn't analyzed before on playback. My local content has codecs cosistently, however.

That been sad, i have one, of course i have, i think it's not related to az2 because it was always here, but on az2 i plan to have the cleanest minimal user experience, this skin is just so awesome it demands it.
I tried to get rid of <ratings> for individual episodes without success, i don't need them and those numbers are only clutter to me. (i use list view)
I use tinymediamanager for all nfos and it scraps <ratings> for all episodes, so is this a skin related at all? maybe i should try to tell tmm not to scrape that info?

and i'm curious about another thing, what exactly triggers little icons for `library` , `unwatched` & `new` for individual episodes, i can't seem to find a pattern
The skin doesn't control what is scraped, the List view just shows the scraped rating if available. To not show the rating you would need to not scrape it.

Regarding watched flags, you can see the variable here:
https://github.com/jurialmunkey/skin.arctic.zephyr.2/blob/master/1080i/Includes_Images.xml#L149-L158

The order is basically.
1. If IsPlaying show Play flag
2. If IsResumable show In-Progress flag
3. If Watched flag set or PlayCount not 0 show Checkmark
4. If UnWatched and in the 10 most recently added items show Recently Added Star
5. If has DBID show Library flag (only for lists in video info dialog)
6. If IsCollection show Collection flag.

The In-progress flag uses pie pieces to show how much is watched:
1x for < 33%
2x for 33% to 66%
3x for > 66%

Yeah it is a bit of a pain because the skinning engine can't do any math, so there isn't any way to determine how much space should be given to any particular item without basically remaking every possible configuration - I need to make country and studio have a max size otherwise they push everything else out of frame.

In latest release I've reordered the tags so that studio comes last - that way I can tell the studio label to auto size to remaining width and then if you disable all the others it will then use the full width.

Then you probably don't have landscape art downloaded for that item.
Codec flags only show for local content in the library.

For info, you can set default select action to "Info".
Settings > Media > Videos > Default select action

Okay, yes I can reproduce now - I originally didn't test with tvshows, just episodes.
Should be fixed:

Some animations in Basic home still need some fixing up but it is working now at least.
