RE: Netflix Add-on [input-stream] - Sholander - 2022-12-02

It's the same for me on Firestick 4K, only 540p. Checked ESN - it's the same as in official NF app; reset ESN but again only 540p...

RE: Netflix Add-on [input-stream] - Fezso - 2022-12-02

Yesterday at the same time started having this issue - low resolution - on all my devices (Sony TV, Shield Pro 19, Shield Cube). Checked ESN and there were a bunch of numbers missing from the end. Filled out the number missing numbers and now all my devices are back 4k DV. Worth checking.

RE: Netflix Add-on [input-stream] - dt4285 - 2022-12-03

It was the same problem with my device Beelink GT1 Mini_2. After changing the Netflix apk with the one from https://github.com/CastagnaIT/plugin.video.netflix I have a 1080p recolution.

RE: Netflix Add-on [input-stream] - Paco8 - 2022-12-03

I had the same problem. I fixed it by entering the ESN from my android box.

Thanks for the hint. My shield was also missing a large part of the esn. I added it back from the Android app and it's working great again!

How many characters did you have to add? My Firestick 4K has 64 characters at the end that are missing; do I have to write them ALL at the end?

Which apk version from there did you install?

Yep, I copied them all.

Adding all of the characters through the Netflix addon ESN editor worked for me, too. I found that the full ESN was stored in the settings.xml file, so for my shield I used a mobile phone with the Android X-plore app to open the xml file and copy the string and the Kore app to paste it into the addon ESN editor. That saved me the aggravation of trying to enter it with a remote.

Sorry for the bad english. On Nvidia Shield, the add-on from yesterday is only sd 540. I tried all the ways described https://github.com/CastagnaIT/plugin.video.netflix . I even uninstalled it, reinstalled it. I reinserted the original ESN . Nothing helped. Netflix does not support subtitles in my language. The only way I can watch Netflix with subtitles is with this addon. I'm asking for help.

That saved me the aggravation of trying to enter it with a remote.

This does not help on my Firestick 4K, UHD/HD just does not work. I got the full ESN (48 + 64 characters) from official Netflix app and had to enter them manually with my WiFi keyboard.
I had to put "only" the last 64 characters at the end of existing ESN string, double checked for any error, clicked on "Apply changes now". It prompted me to now try a video; but again it played only in 540p. When I looked again to check ESN setting, the string has returned to former default - "Official Firestick Netflix app" string without last 64 characters that I just put in.
It looks as if Netflix addon v.1.20.2 on my FS4K does not store the additional 64 characters. Don't know if this could be related to my Kodi version - Maven's Kodi 20 Nexus beta1 for Firestick - or to something else...

EDIT: figured it out finally; to keep additional 64 characters written to the end of existing ESN string, after I wrote them in I had to press "OK" (NOT Apply changes now). After pressing OK I restarted Kodi and checked again ESN string. Now it shows all values, complete with additional 64 characters; and UHD Dolby Vision with Dolby Atmos are now playing OK, as before.

Hi! in which setting.xml file did you find the full ESN? Adding all of the characters through the Netflix addon ESN editor worked for me too but the 64 characters take a lot of time with the remote, and i can't find a setting.xml file with ESN in .kodi\userdata\addon_data\plugin.video.netflix\setting.xml (Fire TV 4K max). Maybe it's not this one xml?

How have you got this Beelink box to run the Netflix addon in Kodi? I have a Beelink GT King Pro and as much as I would like to use the Netflix addon it says that the box is not Widevine certified. I would be delighted to know how you have achieved it.

RE: Netflix Add-on [input-stream] - Paco8 - 2022-12-04

After entering the full ESN yesterday I had 1080p but now I'm getting 540p again. I tried reentering the ESN but I'm still limited to 540p. What's happening?

RE: Netflix Add-on [input-stream] - 8traxrule - 2022-12-05

To find the ESN on the NVidia Shield, open Settings then go to Device Preferences, then About and scroll down until you see "Netflix ESN". Yes, you do need to input the ENTIRE string of characters- what was in my add-on before was just the first few parts ending with "ANDROID=TV" I think, and I added all the numbers and letters afterwards. After this I got 4K back without restarting anything.

GREATLY appreciate these add-ons as I cannot stand having the regular apps put junk on the screen, telling me to skip parts and cut off credits. I watch everything from beginning to end, so that is just insulting.
