RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.8 - 2015/01/07] - Matt Devo - 2015-01-17 No, it does not - you need to do a complete reset RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.8 - 2015/01/07] - morbidz - 2015-01-17 I'm getting pretty bad frame skips in multiple videos. Log file below. Any ideas? http://pastebin.com/R97uXCfT RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.8 - 2015/01/07] - trotos - 2015-01-18 Hi to all. First time here. I managed to install standard openelec installation (does not care for chromeos) but open elec is unable to mount my external HDD. In boot menu after pressing ESC on reboot I can see the device: pic. But it is not in /media after booting to openelec. Any help is appreciated RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.8 - 2015/01/07] - m0ngr31 - 2015-01-18 If I reboot the chromebox without the tv turned on, XBMC will show up as thinking it's fullscreen even though it's windowed. It just thinks my tv is 1024x768. I can see my desktop behind it, but pushing '\' doesn't seem to fix the issue. Any suggestions? I'm on Linux Mint 17.1 btw. It's a PC, not a CE device, and needs the display to tell it what resolutions it supports at boot time. If you're using an older firmware, I'd recommend updating and not choosing the headless option. This will force the ChromeBox to delay booting until the display is on/ready. Yeah, I get the same 1024x768 on a *Windows* system if boot with the amp on but the TV not switched to that input. Usually requires me to put it to sleep and wake it up again. On OpenElec, though, there could be a solution by forcing a manual copy of the TV's EDID. I've done that on my system to resolve another issue (slightly incorrect calculated PAR) but one side effect is Kodi always knows what the TV supports even if it's not powered on. Thank you RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.8 - 2015/01/07] - Boulder - 2015-01-18 First of all, a big thank you to Matt Devo for the script and the OpenELEC+Kodi community for making my HTPC experience very nice and smooth I have a few questions, I'm unsure whether I should ask them in this thread, some other part of the forum or the OpenELEC forum but I need to start from somewhere. Feel free to point me to the right direction if the questions are not appropriate for this thread and should be elsewhere. 1) My LG plasma TV supports 24p. Is it possible to force 24p output for movies with framerate of 23.976 or 24 frames per second? I have tried overriding the refreshrate settings via advancedsettings.xml but my receiver (and thus TV) doesn't get proper 24p signal. It used to work with my previous media player, the Mede8er MED500X2. 2) Subtitle positioning doesn't work. I have set the position in the calibration dialog but still they appear at the bottom of the screen. I can move them by CTRL + +/- and it clearly shows that the position is not what I have chosen in the calibration. 3) MPEG-2 video decoding is not always hardware accelerated, which also means that I'm sometimes missing the advanced deinterlacing techniques such as VAAPI motion compensated deinterlacing. Are there some cases in which the decoding is done via software? Thanks for any input RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.8 - 2015/01/07] - Matt Devo - 2015-01-18 (2015-01-18, 16:09)Boulder Wrote: First of all, a big thank you to Matt Devo for the script and the OpenELEC+Kodi community for making my HTPC experience very nice and smooth I believe you can, but unsure on the exact method. So if you calibrate the subtitle position via the settings menu while the output is 60Hz, that's what the calibration is for. Try forcing the UI to 24Hz and then calibrating the position. It used to work with my previous media player, the Mede8er MED500X2. My TV supports 24p, 50Hz and 60Hz modes at least according to what I've seen on its OSD when checking the refreshrate. So "standard" framerates would be 23.976, 24, 25, 50 and 59.94 fps. Using advancedsettings.xml to put everything encoded at 23.976 fps to refreshrate 24 fps, the "debug" display shows 24 fps while playing the video but my TV stays in 60Hz mode.
