I need a help to understand where you want to map the different images.
I do suggest to use AVATAR as an example as it does have all of them.

I need to understand what you want as a poster and what as a fanart, other types will be added later as I was writing before

here is my suggestion
HD Movie Logos -> for later use
ClearLOGOs -> for later use
ClearART -> Fanart
HDClearART -> Fanart
cdART -> for later use
Movie Backgrounds -> Fanart
Movie Banner -> Poster
Movie Thumbs -> Fanart

Is it correct?

M

Most of the artwork on fanart.tv does not map to the artwork types that we currently scrape with Ember; they are new types used by various skins such as Aeon and MQ to name a couple examples.

HD Movie Logos -> logo.png (choose this first)
ClearLOGOs -> logo.png (use this as a backup if no HD Logo in the lanaguage specified)
ClearART -> clearart.png (use this as a backup if no HD ClearArt, in the language specified)
HDClearART -> clearart.png (choose this first)
cdART -> disc.png
Movie Backgrounds -> Fanart (this is the only fanart.tv artwork that might overlap with 'typical' artwork scraping from IMDB/TMDB)
Movie Banner -> Banner (not poster - Frodo supports both now, <moviename>-poster.jpg/png and <moviename>-banner.jpg/png or poster.jpg/png and banner.jpg/png)
Movie Thumbs -> landscape.png

Special note - the Logos and ClearArts are language-specific and should be tagged with the appropriate language. Will want to have a setting allowing users to specify a language so as not to get a bunch of foreign-language artwork.

Thank you for the clarification. Some notes

1) Logo.png - to be added at a later stage, today is not possible to save
2) Clearart.png - to be added at a later stage, today is not possible to save
3) Disc.png - to be added at a later stage, today is not possible to save
4) Landscape.png - to be added at a later stage, today is not possible to save
5) Fanart.tv does not provide any language filtering API, all images are returned without any tag. Is impossible to detect the language in a programmatic way

You have to disable the XML scraper, then it works.

Edit: But does not work properly.
One question: Why did so many image formats enabled? Do you really all that? You used not just XBMC?

LOL : I used to have media browser @ one time and hence probably just kept some settings from old, will look at all the image settings and to disable the xml scraper then .. thas what your advise is yes ?

The addon calls "Artwork Downloader" and search local files to add it to the XBMC-DB.
The naming conventions are here: Link

And yes, it's a mess Confused

Yes, disable the XML scraper in any case.
In the pictures there should be no problem to have enabled more. But is seems to be a problem Big Grin When do you use anyway just XBMC I would disable all others you dont need for Frodo.

Can we also get Ember to support poster.png? It is supported by Frodo and I have many of them. With Ember not supporting them, it always thinks those movies are missing posters and downloads new ones unnecessarily.

We need the same style like downloading with the XBMC plugin.

Dan - I confirmed in the Artwork Downloader thread (and through my own testing) that it is indeed seasonXX-landscape.jpg now. Previously it was seasonx-landscape, but it is updated since Frodo. The AD wiki is outdated. At least it's consistent.

RE: New Home for Ember Media Manager (Official Thread) - FlashPan - 2013-03-06

Hi All,

Strange problem with .actors folder.

I know at present the the current version does not support the creation of the .actors folder for TV Shows (or for tv show actor scrapping). So I have been creating my own.

So for example:

The Simpsons
.actors
Season 1
Season 2
Season 3

Prior to creating the .actors folder ember would correctly display The Simpsons as we would normally expect. "The Simpsons" in the Title pane and "Season 1, Season 2 etc etc" in the Season pane. .actors is not shown.

If the .actors folder (hidden or not) has been added as above in the folder structure while the tv series is in ember the tv show will still show correctly but if you remove and add back in a tv showor just add back in a tv show that has the .actors folder then all the season folders are listed in the the Title pane. So if you have more than 1 tv series listed you cannot really tell which season is which.

I do not know if this is a bug or just something that happens as ember doesn't support the scraping into .actors for TV yet?

The way I have got around this is to remove the .actors folder, add in the TV series, then move back the .actors folder to its original position.

Just thought I'd bring this to light.

Cheers

hello everybody:
perhaps it's a bit off-topic!. Blush
i'm re-doing some icons for technical info for my movies. i'm using some of them from this post about a mod-skin for AeonNox. Basically are colored icons.
see preview:

Image

Actually i'm satisfied with the results, but i have some questions:
  • which are the possible dts audio movie diferences? (acording media info): acodec_dca/acodec_dts/acodec_dtshd_hra/acodec_dtshd_ma/acodec_dtshr/acodec_dtsma). DTS Master Audio/DTS normal/DTS 96/24 ... i'm confused.
  • ember uses three types of resolution (e.g. 1080/1080i/1080p)...where can i get alternative icons for this?. The ones i downloaded from previous skin posts are without i or p (interlaced oor progressive)
  • it's possible in ember adding some aspect ratio icons (2:35:1/1:78:1 ...) near resolution icons e.g.
  • as you can see in the image i've modified default theme for movies using Calibri font, but some parts of the program are still using default font. how can be changed?

Another question: out the cosmetic changes are: which are the setting for scrape a movie ALL from imdb except plot and outline plot from tmdb. My goal is getting only the plot and outline plot in spanish, the rest from imdb.

thx DanCooper / mr.savazzi / and everybody involved...best program for XBMC. Nod

fixed: abort the automatic scrapping (this probably relates to non-English users)

I've found a major logical bug in the implementation of Ember as stands today. The scraper logic has been messed up and now instead of having a separate scraper for each source (as it should be) there are macro scrapers (native, my TMDB).
Once I will finish the TMDB image part I will work to resolve this.

As solution you should enable both scrapers Native and TMDB, native first. In Native you have to DESELECT Plot and Outline in TMDB you have to select ONLY Plot and Outline.
In theory (never tried) Ember will execute the scrapers in cascade filling the missing fields

thanks for the replies: Blush
  • about the DTS types of: i have only two or three movies with DTS-HD. But i only wanted to know how many different DTS audio types you can buying a blu-ray movie. normal DTS (waht's normal?) / DTS-HD / DTS 96/24 etc...
  • using alternative icons for resolution (720, 1080, 480 etc...) means i have to edit with gimp those images. and my gimp/photoshop level is noob noob!. i'll try.
  • Quote:it's possible in ember adding some aspect ratio icons (2:35:1/1:78:1 ...) near resolution icons e.g. Not clear what you want us to add.... where...
    next the resolution icon for a movie have another one with the aspect ratio (like 2:35:1 or 1:78:1 etc...) see this example screen
  • editing the themes\movie-Default.xml archive...replacing ALL instances of Microsoft Sans Serif font with Calibri font...it's easy.
  • i'm doing tests with enabling ALL ember native scraper except for plot and outline plot and enabling NONE for TMDB except for plot and outline plot...but i think there are errors or fields without completion. i'll look into this. but I think that goes wrong

thx again Cool

Ember won't remember my file pattern settings..it keeps returning back tot he default.

Also, it's not finding movies correctly, for "airplane" it found "jake and amir " airplane" and kindergarten cop it found "5 second movies kindergarten cop"

What's up with that?
