Hello to our great dev/gfx team,
In my limited testing so far of the new widget code, the only issue I have found so far, which I could not find in the To-Do list, is that menu item backgrounds other than the default backgrounds do not work.
This is what I tested, but could not get any menu item background other than the skin default to show.
- For a movie playlist menu item, or a default menu item (I used Videos for testing), if I select "Widget 1 farnart" as the background, it is not shown, I still see the skin default background for the item
- For the same case above, if I select a video playlist as background, or a Live Background based on a video playlist, this is not shown, I still see the skin default background.
Another item to note, which I am not sure whether it is a bug or just an enhancement, is that while the auto-scroll works great for list widgets, there is no change on the menu item background as the widget changes. My expectation would be that the background changes to match the widget, but again, this might be just what I would like to see and not how it is intended to work.
I will continue to test and report back.

EDIT:
can confirm that - it seems all backrounds below "weather fanart" doesnt work - you can choose the backround for the live backrounds, but i dont get any content for the cases ... ( just fallbacks or empty cases )

Assuming the skinshortcuts branch:- m3u playlists generally don't have fanart from my (very limited) experience with them, so I've no plans of extending the Skin Shortcuts script to list them as available for backgrounds.

Hi!
Running this amazing skin on Jarvis RC (I want to stay up to date as much as I can) . Before that I was running a custom build of my own of Nox 4 on Isengard 15.2
I'm just having a couple of problems now that I have switched to Madnox :
I
1) When I was using Nox 4, I could press enter on an actor on the movie info visualization in order to have all the movies related to that particular actor in my library. Now with extended info, it seems impossible to achieve that.
2) In music visualization, the info panel with artist slideshow does not rotate anymore, although I set it up on rotate just like before (I'm talking about the "i" panel, not the "m" one)
Did I miss something for those issues?

For 1, there is a option at the very end in the madnox settings to use metadata add-on for actors, if you have the add-on and turn the option on, it should work like in your old skin
2. I guess because we need to remove the "alarm stuff" from the skin, not sure how to archive this now, maby mike got a solution.
BTW. I'm waiting for my internet provider to fix my internet...its broken since 3 day's...without smartphone I have died by now

I can confirm that now if you select a video playlist as background, the correct background is shown, thanks!
One issue still present and one new:
1. Selecting "Widget 1 Fanart" as background does not work for any type of menu item or any type of widget
2. If I select a video playlist as background for a menu item, all menu items that have "Widget 1 Fanart" as their background show the same background as the menu item that has the playlist as background.

Widget 1/2 Fanart is still on the to-do list, likely not to be picked up until the global widget autoscroll options are implemented

Hmm there's a strange behavior that I've noticed with the smart playlists.
If I create a smart playlist ( or even a basic one ) and even if i leave the variable empty yet just make it a Movie playlist .. somehow the playlist populates itself with movies ?
same with mixed etc
What I wanted to achieve was just create a .XSP playlist rather then a .m3u playlist ... with Nil variables.. which i could then populate using the context menu add to playlist option ... like as I mentioned before a "queued Playlist ". But the playlist being created ends as an m3u rather then an xsp one.
an m3u playlist unfortunately does not make a good widget .. i.e does not display any posters etc etc it is still clickable and functions but beats the whole reason for creating a widget.
I shall continue searching and will keep trying in the meantime, but any ideas anyone ?
