I think it's a good idea in general, but I haven't yet found a solution that works well for me. 
What bothers me e.g. is that

- trailers are played in a continuous loop
- there doesn't seem to be a trailer for every movie and then I wait in vain for the trailer to start

It's just not the experience I would like to have. I have often thought about this, but have not yet come to a good solution. But well, never give up

I noticed Arctic Zephyr 2 does this it even shows the critic rating (the thumbs-up symbol rating) from my own nfo files next to the community rating (the default star symbol rating).
