Hello everyone. I have been using this program for close to 3 years now and LOVE it!

I doubt this is the cause of the problem, but I'll mention that today I had added another HD into my HTPC so all my drive orders had been switched around. I added the new drive to Ember, Ember reorganized all the paths, found all the movies on all drives, and all went well. However the problem I am having is Ember is not scraping my new movies. I right click on the movie within the list, select (re)scrape movie, but there are no search results. Saying -- no matches found. I am able to manually put in the IMDB and it works fine that way, however I have quite a bit of new movies I need scraped.

Any help would be great. Thanks!

By the way... I have tried using Ember on two different computers, and am getting the same result. The scraping feature's search is not working. Could someone please give me some advice? Thanks you.

Only the latest version will scrape properly.

THANK YOU! Was not aware there was a new version. I did check for new updates, but it said there were none available.

You can get the newest version from DanCoopers signature. Don't depend on the check update function on Ember cause it's broken since the original author left the project Smile

1) Can anyone explain how the trakt implementation of Ember currently works and where I can actually switch it on?

Cocotus should be able to help

(2013-03-10, 04:09)steve1977 Wrote: 2) There are three Ember scraper options now. I am using the native ones. Any pros and cons of the three?

The native scraper is based on IMDB and then uses TMDB for images.

The TMDB scraper is the one I did and uses TMDB as data source then it has (latest version, not yet released) get the poster from IMDB, TMDB, IMPA, MPDB ad the fanart from TMDB and FANARTTV.

The third one is the XML scraper and I'm not sure if it works. In theory you should be able to use XMBC XML scrapers directly from Ember.

I'm not expert on that, DanCooper looks to be the one knows more Smile

I will remove that functionality or check how to fix it...
only creates confusion

Thanks for the info. I was not here this weekend and I'll look again tomorrow at Ember.

To DanCooper and the rest of the ones working on Ember Media Center. THANK YOU!

I have worked on project almost exactly like this before. A forum with 5,500 posts in my software thread, and 3/4 of a million views. Not the exact software, but a large forum, and hundreds of users finding bugs, requesting features and additions ect. It is a daunting task, and takes a LOT of time (I was spending as much time on the project as my full time job at the time).

So a huge thank you for all your work on this!

Dont't know if its the root of your problem, just want to point out that the image scaper ("Ember Native Movie Scraper") is not enabled in the screenshot you posted...

Thanks for replying, but no problems exist, just two questions are left.

The idea was to show the original content as the one saved was always recompressed.
With Cocotus change if the format is "original" the content should not be recompressed so is not useful anymore.

Hoping this helps

Thank you m.savazzi for responding.

1) The embedded links I'm referring to are the actor links in the nfo. If I've downloaded the actual actor thumbs, does xbmc or addons like the ones mentioned, use the links or look at and use the thumbs in the .actors folder to display information on the actors?

2) It just seems inconsistent that everything in EMM represents what is downloaded, but the actors thumbs do not. When you say "not useful anymore" do you mean that if "enable actors cache" is enabled the actor thumbs in the preview screen will draw from what is downloaded rather than what the links represent? For instance, I was hoping to use the actors preview to tell me which movies I hadn't downloaded actors for.

Ha! good question. This I honestly do not know. I think it depends on the plugin.
In my understanding from the previous posts Frodo and some of the skins should look for the actor thumbs the .Actors folder but I've not tested it
(I'm still fixing EMM I've not started to customize XBMC Blush)

EMM has changed quite a little bit through time and developers Big Grin it is possible that original version was not downloading the actors while now is able.
I think we have not looked into it to see if is working correctly or not.

AW: New Home for Ember Media Manager (Official Thread) - DanCooper - 2013-03-11

XBMC search for actor thumbs in the actor folder. If no image found XBMC use the links in NFO and download this images. This is not a skin feature.
