RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.10 - 2015/01/29] - bhampton - 2015-02-02 (2015-02-02, 15:54)fritsch Wrote: ffmpeg can easily do what you want. can it really... care to give any tips? I'm really lost here. Googling Remux MKV to MP4 shows lots of little freeware tools but they all require the MKV to be H264 to begin with. I'm bout ready to give up and just make a list of movies that I have to turn off Vaapi acceleration to watch ... .so any and all help would be so appriaciated. I'm sure I have FFMpeg on my PC , If only in the tools for MKVMerge ... I woudln't know how to use it though. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.10 - 2015/01/29] - fritsch - 2015-02-02 ffmpeg -i in.mkv -c:v copy -c:a copy out.mp4 RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.10 - 2015/01/29] - Boulder - 2015-02-02 mkvtoolnix is also a good tool if you need a GUI. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.10 - 2015/01/29] - bhampton - 2015-02-02 (2015-02-02, 15:58)fritsch Wrote: ffmpeg -i in.mkv -c:v copy -c:a copy out.mp4 I will so very try exactly that ... I have FFMpeg in my root directory but I think I need to add it to my "path" info in Windows before it will run as a command... I hope it works but I'm not great with command line stuff. I tried two ways to add ffmpeg directory to windows path but it still tells me it's not executable.... Keep on trying I will Dl-ing MKVtoolNix... I love and hate this type of thing... If I don't win within 3 days I'll have to give up till the frustration subsides. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.10 - 2015/01/29] - bhampton - 2015-02-02 I lost this round.... I bought into the OpenElec will save me from command line type fun. I can't execute FFmpeg ... windows says no even though I tried like freakin heck to add it to the path MKVtoolNix gives me a GUI but I have zero clue what to do with it. I dick around trying to choose some good options eventually get lost... Truthfully... it may actually be easier to build a hefty PC to run Kodi on then to try to workout this Chromebox/Vaapi bug that never dies. I'll have to buy a few bottles of patience though. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.10 - 2015/01/29] - fritsch - 2015-02-02 What did you "buy" or whom did you pay? I bought into the OpenElec will save me from command line type fun. while I understand you are frustrated, you've give us no info to help you troubleshoot the issue. But since you are command-line averse, you might try using a GUI app for ffmpeg like http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffmpegyag/. Hot 'add task' to load the video file. Select 'MP4' as the format. Set the codec to 'copy' for both audio and video. Then hit 'encode.' RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.10 - 2015/01/29] - quixers - 2015-02-02 Kodi 14.1 stable is out now. Guess we have to wait for an updated openelec build... the script doesn't update your OS / Kodi, it just automates the initial installation process. Your OS/Kodi are updated however they do for the OS you are running. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.10 - 2015/01/29] - BBock727 - 2015-02-03 Using an ASUS chromebox with oe standalone I am getting random video freezing where audio continues to play while playing many file formats. When that happens , my remote becomes unresponsive and I have to restart the chromebox. Anyone know of this problem? If not can you walk me through what I need to do to provide diagnostic material so you guys can help. Thanks! Thanks! does this happen with files on the internal hard drive or locally connected disks (eg, USB), or just with files on network (SMB) sources? If the latter, try using NFS instead of SMB. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.10 - 2015/01/29] - BBock727 - 2015-02-03 Only have attempted to pull files from the network. I guess I'll try nfs but why would that matter? Just to help troubleshoot, my atv 2 with kodi works with the same files. RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.10 - 2015/01/29] - bolmsted - 2015-02-03 I finally got an MCE remote from Amazon today and attempting to setup on the Chromebox.... any pointers/tips for setting this up? I get the gist you have to setup as an MCE Remote/MCExtender (whatever that is) and possibly an MCE Keyboard but I saw someone doesn't use they keyboard anymore in their profile. A bit confusing to say the least. Is there a table that lists all of the keyboard shortcuts, etc to map it? RE: Asus/HP/Acer/Dell ChromeBox EZ Setup (OpenELEC/Linux+Kodi) [v3.10 - 2015/01/29] - Zbart - 2015-02-03 A simple google search using words "kodi" and "keyboard" will give you all the kodi keyboard shortcuts. Reminder: this thread is for discussion and issues regarding Matt's script.
