RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - dr.joaomarcelo - 2014-06-18 Well what about a payed app in the appstore for codecs fees but also giving the option to download it for free in the xbmc homepage like we have now? This way it will help spread the app for those who dont know or dont want to sideload apps. My 2 cents... Edit: i think this discussion doesn't belong here. This being a fire tv topic. Moderators can delete this message. RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - hdmkv - 2014-06-18 mikkeland Wrote:The complete steps I followed wasHi, I'm not quite following steps 12 and 13. Why the long, weird filenames for the 2 PNG's? Do they need to be named exactly that way? Also, I'm using Classic TV, so where do I exactly push to (path please)? Thanks. RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - Natedawg87 - 2014-06-18 Where can I get the XBMC icon? A previous post said in the XBMC wiki. Is that the Fire TV page (I looked, but may have missed it) or just generally in the wiki? Great work on the root. I can't wait to try later. And to the poster above me, I would assume you would substitute com.nowthisnews.vidplay/B00FG4MO04/ with Classic TV's package name within com.amazon.venezia and then see where the icons are stored. A file browser like ES would likely help. EDIT: It looks like jjhtpc mentioned com.adrise.profilms/B00IIPRAZB4/ in his post. That is how fire tv recognizes the image it must be named the same. Classic tv names might be slightly different you will need to look in /sdcard/.imagecache folder in the sub folder for profilms. RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - hdmkv - 2014-06-18 Thanks, will use ES File Explorer to check. It is probably better for the average user as it keeps them from rooting around the file structures and potentially causing harm. This is happening with Netflix and prime video. I am finding that it is only happening with certain titles and only on the fire tv. I can play a given title on my chromecast or my computer without issues, but fire tv does not have sound. Also, I noticed that a title available in both netflix and prime had the same result. Here's an example: http://www.amazon.com/Adventures-Lalaloopsy-Land-Search-Pillow/dp/B007C1I0P2/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1403013842&sr=1-1&keywords=lalaloopsy RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - JJ-KwiK - 2014-06-18 Post Deleted RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - mjbxx - 2014-06-18 (2014-06-18, 16:42)hdmkv Wrote:For clarification, I need to rename the downloaded XBMC icons (Preview & Thumbnail) to the nowthisisnews png file names derived from the sdcard image cache that you are using in steps 12 and 13. I think VLC has been able to sneak by using a hidden setting (something about using Canadian locations for time zone settings...), but I haven't heard much about that in a while.Several media players are in the app stores with built-in AC3/DTS disabled but with support for external plug-in libraries to enable it. Users just install the external libraries from a webpage and they're good to go. This seems to work fine. I think we discussed this in another thread and your conclusion was that "yeah that would work but we don't want to be bothered". Which is of course your decision to make. I actually left out a step where i did Code: adb pull /sdcard/.imagecache/com.amazon.venezia/com.nowthisnews.vidplay/B00FG4MO04/ /mikkle RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - hdmkv - 2014-06-18 Need help please... I think it wouldn't work with the remote, so I had to "click" it on my keyboard I had hooked up. There were directions somewhere. RE: Amazon Fire TV for XBMC - hdmkv - 2014-06-18 Thanks. Got it using ADB shell commands via Windows CMD prompt... adb ls /sdcard/.imagecache/com.amazon.venezia/com.adrise.profilms/B00IPRAZB4/ (Classic TV app) thumbnail_43127692f3ed9671e079492a40a450bbd51543bd84d74bba24baf55fe7e06afa.png preview_84a70e233a1a6d1ac0d93d2e9f1f2de0e7c2d64d289f1e6f17434fe4c3752717.png |
